A cut above all the other pizza places on The Drive. Fire Pizza makes enormous mounds of gooey, never greasy, topping-laden goodness that is miles ahead of anything else you can get in the area.

When I first saw the gorgeous, fat slices in the window, I couldn't believe they charged the same ($1.67) as all the other pizza places in the area.

This little gem is fairly low profile, right on the tail-end of the Drive. $1.79 pizza slices, $3.99 for 2 Slices and a Pop. Unique pizza varieties, VERY fresh ingredients. No additives, whole wheat dough - I highly recommend it.

I had the much raved about 'Spinach and Feta' pizza which was fantastic. I'm a spice junkie, so half way through the slice I added a dash of hot sauce. I also got a slice of the 'Spicy Chicken' pizza, which had me sweating a little (but in a good way), very flavorful.

On a whole, the staff were very friendly, great food, great service. My only criticism would have been that even though the run the slices through the rotary oven again after pulling them from the display case - they still came out a bit on the cool side. Mind you, this didn't stop me from diving right in! Nom nom :)

Okay guys...This review is purely based on their "grilled potato" pizza, which I've been seeing really good reviews for.

So a friend and I were taking a walk along the drive and I decided to try it and let me tell ya, if you like potatoes, this is the pizza for you. There were HUGE chunks of potatoes on it, little bits of green pepper and some cheese. I bet you there was other stuff on  there too but was probably HIDDEN UNDER ALL THAT POTATO. I was overwhelmed with potatoes and I could barely taste anything else that was on the pizza. Overall it was ok , the crust was very very good. But I honestly feel like I bought and ate a $2 potato.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to come back, but the potato just wasn't for me. Oh why did I not get cheese :(

What the what? I just found out through reddit (exposing my nerd level for all to see) that there's some kind of beef going on between Fire Pizza and the neighbouring pizza establishment. I figured it was as good a time as any to post a review as some kind of vague show of support.

I stopped into Fire Pizza a little while ago for a quick bite to eat. I was immediately overwhelmed by the choices. They have numerous vegetarian options, all of which look delicious (except the ones with olives, because as an olive-hating vegetarian, they are the bane of my existence). Finally - a pizza place that doesn't limit me to the lame, generic "Mediterranean" topping blend.

The spicy mushroom slice really lit my fire (lame pun coon), and the spinach-feta pizza does live up to the hype. There are also a lot of other interesting, specialty choices like wild salmon and chicken masala. Once you make your selection, the slices are warmed in the oven and then garnished as per your direction. Parmesan cheese? An extra sprinkle of feta? A squeeze of lemon for the wild salmon? There's also a self-serve condiment station, stocked as per usual, that allows me to attack my slice with a vigorous shake of hot pepper flakes.

Service was sweet and prices are standard. My one gripe is that the pizza slices were not as hot as I would have liked, and there was some kind of quarrel between the staff and a customer that occurred while I was eating. Parmesan cheese be serious business. Conclusion: If you like tasty, warm pizza with a side of conflict, Fire Pizza on the Drive is surely the place to be!

One of the best things about "the Drive" (Commercial Drive) is that there are literally piles of restaurants, back to back.  In fact, there are 2 pizza places side by side (the other being 4 Brothers) on this block.  Only one way to find out which one is better.

Parking is available on the side streets, or if you feel like feeding the City, there is metered parking in front as well.

The interior is actually quite clean, with lots of wood.  There was quite a bit of traffic here.  The lady behind the counter was VERY friendly.

I couldn't stop drooling at the display case.  This place really is something special.  It had some of the most inventive pizza combinations I have seen in a while.  And yes, it beats out Flying Wedge.  See pics.

Pizza here is $2, compared to $1.75 at 4 Brothers next door.  However, the toppings here are thicker overall.  Something to keep in mind.

As I had to budget my stomach, I tried a slice of Crab and Shrimp, and one of Chicken Masala.

Crab + Shrimp - the lady cashier even squeezed a wedge of lemon on top for me, and topped it with parmesan.  The lemon added a nice zing to the pizza, and I give them props for being inventive, but sadly this combo doesn't work.  The reason is because both crab (imitation) and shrimp are more "bland" meats.  Not saying it was bad; just that it was bland.

Chicken Masala - tasty pieces of meat.  Onions and peppers scattered throughout.  Flavour could've been more masala-like but this is minor.

They do load up on the toppings here, and the crusts are nice and thin.

    I will be back.  Recommended.

The freshest most lightweight pizza I've had to date. Nothing seems to be from a can and even a 2:30am craving makes me feel like I've disgraced the joint. Soo good!!

My first ever 5 star rating! You know this can only mean good things.

Anyways, been here twice with my fiancee, Shannon E. It's so good that not only would I eat here, I would... well... eat here... more...? Not sure where I was going with that sentence but the point is this place is frickin' amazing!

The grilled potato pizza is pretty damn decent, but that spinach pizza... I would kill my own mother for it. Granted I don't get along so well with my mom, but still... my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I will definitely be coming back here - this pizza is even worth going out of your way for. The specialty pizzas are ridiculously awesome also, judging from the shrimp one that I had. This place is mother-murdering good. Go check it out. Yes, you. Go. NOW!

Fantastic! I've lived in Vancouver pretty much my whole life and must say I am sick of every pizza-by-the-slice joint out there, but Fire Pizza definitely raises the bar.

Only ever so slightly more expensive than the average pizza place but immensely better when it comes to the important part: the food. I have been in a few times and have always left full and satisfied. They have a few "specialty" pizzas (which you can get by the slice) that are just wonderful. Last time I had the lamb and my boyfriend, Brian B., had some kind of delicious spinach pizza that was so good I had to restrain myself from ripping it out of his hands after he let me have a bite.

The other thing I love about this place is that every time I have been in here it is always clean. There are a few pizza places around the Commercial and Broadway area (I'm not going to name names, but you know the ones) that are always so disgusting I swear the only time they bother wiping down the tables is at the end of the day.

Keep up the good work, Fire Pizza!

Whoa, this place is GREAT! I've always passed by the multitude of pizza places further North down the Drive, but last night a friend of mine wanted to pop in after we went to a gig at Falconetti's, and well, who can resist a slice of pizza at midnight after a couple drinks?!

I was super impressed by all the specialty flavours! I was sorely tempted by the crab and shrimp but i went with the lamb because it looked fresher. It was a great choice and had just the right amount of toppings on it. My friend got a ham and pineapple which also looked pretty delish and had a lot of toppings on it. The icing on the cake (or should i say the extra topping on the pizza?) was that they have GARLIC SAUCE. It basically made my pizza even better than it already was!

I think this is going to become a new pizza destination! Not only did they have tons of other flavours i'd like to try, but they had some really atypical side dishes like baklava and jalapeno poppers. Why can't i ever find healthy food options this good?!

Commercial Drive just keeps amazing me with their cute little holes in the walls...this is no exception. I found this place by accident as I was strolling by and, as I was passing this treasure spot, I peeked in and saw the most beautiful spinach pizza I ever laid my eyes on!

The sight of that spinach pizza pulled me in. Immediately, I bought a slice. Great pizza, excellent price. In my unplanned visit, I also spotted pizzas of other various toppings including another vegetarian pizza covered with grilled eggplant and zucchini; I took a slice of that one in my following visit...the diced carrots hidden in the mix made it a bit weird but it was still good. That spinach pizza will be my first love from this cool place!

There's a long list of Pizza joints on "The Drive" - but this one is very near the top for flavor and originality.  The service I've received there makes me think it must be be family run (they just seem to care).  The do seem to keep the parmesan shaker and some other condiments behind the counter and usually will add it themselves if you ask, but I have a heavy hand for parmesan and wish they would just let me at it.

fire pizza has been around for a while i guess. it popped up sometime ago next to urban grain and i chose not to acknowledge either as i already had a wide selection of favorite dollar slice joints in the city.

once, stumbling drunk, i happened across it late at night, and the walk... or stumble to Brado down the road seemed too unbearable as i was far too hungry. i went in to Fire and got a regular cheese slice and one of their spinach and feta slices. i was annoyed by the $2 price tag on any slice, including a cheese slice. after tasting the pizza, i'd have to rank it up there as the most delicious pizza, dollar slice style, in the city.

as a money hoarding travel junkie, i only treat myself to luxury of fire only every so often as it is more expensive but it is damn good. i feel bad for urban grain next door, i don't think i'll ever try them.

I never would have discovered this place if their pizza hadn't smelled so bloody good. About a month ago I was zoning out on the #20 Victoria bus after a late-night shift at work. Eyes closed (resting, I call it, not sleeping), they suddenly snapped open as deliciousness wafted toward my nostrils. There was some teenage dude who had just sat across from me, and he was holding two giant slices of pizza, one of which was the most beautiful, dark emerald green I've seen in Vancouver.

He said that they were from Fire Pizza, he had just started working there, and that it was pretty sweet. How nice of him.

A few weeks later, my hombre and I were hungry and waiting for my brother to finish work at his restaurant nearby, so I treated us to a little snack to pass the time. The prices at MFPizza are competitive and definitely worth the measly pittance they ask for, $1.67 per slice. "Premium" slices, like chicken donair are more, and 2 are usually on offer, but there is a lot of $1.67 selection.  So far I have tried the bacon-mushroom, chicken/banana peppers, potato, and some veggie one that the man wanted because it was covered in artichoke hearts and green and red peppers.

The crusts are pretty flat (crunchy, with a nice chew to it) and the toppings are placed alllllllmost all the way to the edge. Both times I went, there was the sexy spinach feta pizza (from the bus ogling), but it will have to wait for another day. At least it's there. So many places get spinach pizza wrong by putting on too little, or letting it get all dried up, but MFP covers the whole thing in a splendor of leafery, hides most of the cheese underneath, and puts a little more on top for good measure.

$4 gets you two regular XL slices and a pop. I used to nab this deal at Uncle Fatih's, but am now a convert.

    Huzzah!

Good and cheeeeapskies! Tonight we got a x-large pizza with 3 toppings and dippers, and a 6-pack o' jalepeno poppers for $25.00.. Man, we feasted! The owner even came out after us when we were leaving to offer us 3 slices of his freshly-made fruit pizza to try for dessert. Pretty darn sweet..

I like the service, the ma and pappyness, and the prices.

    Another Commercial Drive GEM!

Every time I go there they keep jacking up their prices, the pizza sits in the window for a long time and they heat it up before they serve it to you, so it's not fresh at all. If you want fresh pizza, with healthy toppings and for a lower price just try the Urban Grain Pizza place next door they also have a pitcher of water with glasses for their customers too!

I've been a patron of their business for almost 2 years now (I live on the corner) and no other by-the-slice place in Vancouver comes close in terms of value. I'm only writing this review so late because Four Brothers is opening up another store beside them, and I feel like these guys deserve as many positive reviews as they can get before that happens. The pizza is always fresh, the family running this place are geniunely nice and care about your business. Great variety in terms of selection that you won't find at any other $2 slice places. I could go on, but I won't. Just try it.

Oh my god! This is the best pizza ever.... Price and quality, they have such a nice variety of pizzas. I have been going to this place since day one, first they served only donairs.... good and cheap! and the business started growing, but they always kept the prices, the people that work there are great... and man.... the best slice of pizza for under $1.70, 2 slices and pop for under $3.80. Isn't this amazing!

Recommendations... Eggplant pizza and bacon pizza....

Cons: Most of the pizzas sold as slices have bell pepper on them... so if you don't like it as me you will have to go for the meat slices...

Anyway, they are still good... honestly... the best out there!

Hope these guys make it big!

I first walked by Fire Pizza and stopped in my tracks and told my boyfriend how good it looked, but I wasn't hungry, so I just wanted to take a picture of it so it was awkward.. so we went on. Later on that day, our friend who happened to live by there asked us to come over and on the walk home with a rumbly tummy, we stepped in Fire Pizza. The sign outside boasts that slices of pizza are $1.67. XL sizes at that ! Our minds were blown and we had to go inside. Seeing these toppings up close made me salivate immediately, and I'm not sure if it me being distracted by food or if the girl had an accent but boy was there a language barrier with a lot of "pardons" and "excuse mes".
Finally I settled in with the spicy mushrooms, (full mushrooms on top are you kidding me?) and a meat lovers. I topped both pieces with a bit of ranch and hot sauce and started with the mushroom one, vegetarian, had a nice bite, and the veggies were cooked perfect, no soggy veggies! The meatlovers had huge balls of sausage and what seemed to be as big as cow spots on the pizza was pepperoni. About half was through the second slice it made sense as to why people only got one slice... Texas sized and definitely in favor of your wallet, this place gave us four, yes, FOUR slices of this XL pizza for $7. If you're hanging out at one of the many bars/pubs on Commercial Drive at night this place is definitely a must go.
