Review from Emily S.
What a top notch place in Mission! We wandered in here after a delicious dinner looking for dessert and coffee. The owner met us at the door of a softly lit cafe with seasonal menus, not at all concerned that we wouldn't be ordering a full dinner. We settled on a delicious cappuccino and warm chocolate raspberry cake. Both were amazing and the ambiance really carried us both to an italian cafe, unlike one you usually find on a bustling 24th street in Mission.
The full dinner menu looked very appetizing, and we promised to be back for at least breakfast soon. Overall our total pre-tip was just over $10. A steal! We will be back! -

5 starts for the pasta and wine list.
Italians know their pasta--my date and I had rigatoni with Neopolitan ragu and angel hair with a simple tomato sauce. Both were simple, yet delicious. The vongele (clams) in garlic broth was also very good. The menu is simple and reasonably priced.
What I really like about this place is how it's not so choreographed. It feels more like a casual cafe you'd find in a random town in Italy rather than one of the trendy (albeit tasty) "in" spots in the City that has everything planned to a tee (down to the pistachio-arugula pistou carefully metered over your halibut), for which you pay a premium. -

After The Liberty Cafe somehow managed to "lose" our 8:45PM Open table reservation, my hubby and I were both cranky and hungry. Thankfully, we were able to reserve a 9:00 at Fiore Caffe, a wonderful new dining destination in Mission/Dolores. Closer and cheaper than Il Fornaio and worlds better than similarly-priced Pasta Pomodoro, we are excited to have found our new go-to Italian spot!
When restaurants aren't at least half-full on Saturday night, our first instinct is usually to just go somewhere that is (we probably would have if we hadn't arrived so late and so darn ravenous). I am absolutely glad we took our chances and went inside. The vibe in this place is simple, modern and clean, with wood finishes and inspired local art. It feels homey and inviting. We received a warm welcome from Eduardo, who sat us immediately, and I ordered wine. My glass of albarino was perfectly chilled and really refreshing.
I opted for two crostini as an appetizer: one with basil, tomato, and herbs, and the other a variation on a parmesan crisp topped with herbed goat cheese. Both were out of this world.
For my entree, I ordered the night's special: rigatoni with mushrooms, pancetta, garlic and herbs in a cream sauce with fresh parmesan. The pasta was al dente perfection, and the entire dish was flavorful, rich and delicious.
I tried the pannacotta with raspberry sauce for dessert, and was really pleased with it. This was a simple yet elegant dish which marked the perfect end to a stupendous meal. Noticing I had run out of wine, Eduardo even poured me another mouthful to enjoy with the pannacotta. That service and attention to detail left me with a really great impression.
Sometime during our meal, we learned that the cafe has only been serving dinner for three-ish months. But with its combination of excellent food, wonderful service, reasonable prices, and a nice atmosphere, I'm sure this is only the beginning of a very long and successful run for Fiore Caffe. Welcome! -

Cafe by day, yes. Lovely lovely dinner spot at night...the transformation is subtile, so don't miss it. Carpaccio, brussel sprouts, arugula salad, pasta with broccoletti...it's rather spectacular. The best part is, you can stop in for just a drink, or have a beverage and a side, or eat a full on dinner - they are happy and hospitable regardless. More SF good vibes here yo!

Living room mantel meets grandma's WiFi-less livingroom, if she lived on the tenth floor of a SoMA skyscraper. Seriously, décor brings me back every time, and that may be the only thing. This place is all look and no substance. The Carlos Santana compilation is played at too loud a volume too.

Take it from a guy who grew up in an Italian family who to this day believe that any food that ISN'T Italian is disgraceful; this place is un-be-lieve-a-bly good. Having grown up in New York, and spent ample time in the "motherland," I know what a real Sfogliatelle is supposed to taste like, and Fiore Caffe is the only place in 3,000 miles(short of my own kitchen) where you can get one. This place reminds me of my favorite morning cafe in Rome; not meant to be trendy or flashy, rather simply a corner spot to grab an espresso or cappuccino and a pastry, but this place serves dinner too!
Orecchiette alla Barese. Just ask. You won't find it in most places outside of New York or southern Italy. You'll want to kill yourself because you know you'll never taste anything so good again. -
Review from Sebastian L.
Beverly Hills, CA
In town for the weekend and was hankering for a coffee. Realizing that I spend most of my coffee-time at Que Tal down the street and thinking that I should probably expand my horizons, I decided to check this place out.
The Pros: I like the layout. Feels very homey (probably because the interior appears to be a rennovated flat). Hardwood floors, bright, open windows, a bar counter where you can socialize, or tables for groups. The price-point seems reasonable enough. The coffee was decent, though not spectacular, and I liked that they offered indoor and outdoor seating options. The Tiramisu was, again, decent but not spectacular.
The Cons: Other members of my party ordered salads which looked...well, not the freshest, tomatoes didn't look particularly ripe and it had an overall pre-packaged, refrigerated feel. I also observed the cashier filling up plastic cups of orange juice with bottles of made-from-concentrate OJ. Not to be overly-judgemental, but usually when you see those clear plastic cups of OJ sitting chilled on a counter, it connotes "fresh-squeezed," right? That move seemed kind of...cheap. The music also seemed to be playing just a bit loud.
Misc: I'm not one of those people who sits on computers at coffee shops (we have plenty of 'screenwriters' down here in LA). Rather, I'm one of the other types of patrons who gets annoyed by people who hog table space while clickety-clacketying on their computers and ordering absolutely nothing all day long.
I bring this up because I see alot of comments about people complaining about the lack of Wi-Fi. Um...know why Barnes & Noble and Borders went out of business? Because freeloaders like yourselves took advantage of their generosity, siphoned off their electricity, sat at their tables for hours on end and then proceeded to buy absolutely nothing! I get that it's SF, the hi-tech capitol of the world, but...suck it up and buy a 3G connection if it's that important to you. A business owes you nothing except good food/drink, good service and a comfortable place to sit. Jeez you guys sound cheap and I would never ding a business for not offering free wi-fi.
Bottom line: there are plenty of coffee shops and cafes in this area and I'm not entirely convinced that this is among the best. But if you're in the neighborhood and want a nice place to meet and lounge for a bit, you could do worse than to hang at Fiore Caffe.
And you can trust me on this one; I'm an Elite. ;) -

What a delightful suprise - a little proscuitto here and tuna there, but for the most part the fare is vegetarian.
Handmade epanadas (brocolli rabe mozzerella - yum) and orichietti or potato tortilla with ?in an authentic Italian setting - even the zuchinni "cream" soup of the day was vegan!
There's no cafe wifi... the proprietor got sick of selfish hipsters hanging out all day with a cup of coffee, while his profits dripped away. So - that's a plus, really - no selfish hipsters... just nice hipsters and other non-selfish people.
Top it off with a slice of homemade pistaccio chocolate cake and the best capuccino you or I have had in a year and some chill-out tunes and you can't complain for even a minute! -

Came here with my laptop and admired the look of the café (modern, stylish, European)...sadly, they no longer offer free wi-fi. I really wanted to camp and enjoy their Italian pastries. I liked the wood floors, fireplace, abstract artwork, and wood floors. Even the bathroom was nice.
* Latte: rather bitter and not rich in flavor
* Sfogliatelle: thin layers of golden crunchy dough, dusted with powdered sugar, filled with tender inside, with ricotta, orange zest, sweet but not as sweet as you'd think, ton of cheese makes it very filling
Fiore has pastries, daily specials (e.g., gnocchi), soup, sandwiches, macarons, etc.

Cute cafe--great for meeting with people here. Had an interesting menu that I wish I had ordered from but I did get a chocolate mocha latte which was good and savory. Service here is friendly, ambiance is well lit and open.

The bright sunflowers attracted me into this cafe; that I had a rumbling tummy only helped!
This is a small and charming cafe that serves up a delicious continental breakfast which consists of a flaky croissant, perfectly boiled eggs (no green yolks, yay!) delicious coffee and a refreshing 8 oz glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. I don't exactly recall what the price was but remember thinking it was a great deal.
The service was exceptional, which made our breakfast much more pleasant. Cute art decorates the walls and make the cafe just more welcoming and interesting. The fact that it does not have wifi doesn't really matter because without the distraction of technology, it is nice to sit down and have a cup of coffee while you contemplate on life. There will be more time for internet later.... With that said, those who just can't live without their free wifi, go be an internet zombie at a starbucks. -

This quaint little cafe has a perfect balance of hometown charm and city culture that creates a beautiful and comfortable ambiance to enjoy one of their delicious coffee drinks or home made desserts.
The cafe is run by two owners who are as sweet as can be, and have a knack for remember each of their guests when they come back again.
I would highly recommend Cafe Fiore for a quick snack or a quite place to relax, enjoy a great cup of coffee or even get some work done! -

We discovered this place after moving in in the neighborhood. I love the atmosphere of this caffè and the coffee (I mostly drink latte) is amazing! I also went there for breakfast and lunch and it's simply delicious and very well presented! So food and coffee would deserve 4,5 stars. Unfortunately, the staff is not the most friendly I've had met! I have been served by up to 5 different waiter(esse)s at that place. The guys are nice, as is one of the waitresses. But one of the other girls does not even deign giving us a smile.. Not so nice when it's the first person you see in the morning! Also, there is no free wifi unlike what is indicated on the website. So, to be honest, I hesitated between 3 and 4 but I love their coffee and food so much, I give them a 4, but would love a kinder staff!

Great addition to the neighborhood!
Cute cafe run by super friendly staff.
Fresh food and it was good! We had: salmon sandwich and the daily special which was a breaded fish sandwich. Both very tasty. The side salad that came with the fish sandwich was really good- some sort of barley and fresh veggies in a light vinegrette.
To all the people bemoaning no wifi: it's a TREAT not having thirty Macbook Zombies hanging around for hours hogging up all the chairs and tables while they nurse 1 $2 cup of coffee. Doesn't exactly lend to a relaxing, cozy, nice atmosphere. Also, I don't get the entitlement of you computer users. The city doesn't owe you a free place to park your raft ass and do your work all day. Go to your own damn office or do your work in your apartment. Crawl back into whatever hole you came from, and stay there... renting a REAL office space costs a lot more than 1 $2 coffee which you're going to nurse the whole time while taking up space, gobbling up oxygen, electricity and internet.... some of us enjoy patronizing cafes for what they're meant for: socialization and relaxation... not as a free workspace. GTFO entitled laptop zombies, and don't let the door hitya on the way...
Rant aside: This cafe is cozy and relaxing. Will be back! -

Watching this corner stop get renovated while walking my dog, Lily, piqued my interest and I decided to stop in one afternoon shortly after they opened. I had an affogato and afterward I was hooked!
Now Lily and I come by there almost every morning during our morning walk to get our standard latte and occasionally to try some pastries or get fruit salad (on my "healthy" days). I'm pretty sure most things are made there as I've peeked in the kitchen to see some of the magic happening!
I was very impressed by the fruit salad! They cut up fresh seasonal fruit like pineapple, cherries, nectarines! Yummers! I've also been here for lunch a few times to nosh while I study and/or work. They have this cauliflower, potato and prosciutto concoction (some Italian name I can't pronounce) that I get all the time!
The guys there are very friendly and are always interested in hearing how my weekend went or how I'm enjoying my food. I've never had an issue with using the wi-fi for long periods of time but I am good about ordering food commiserate with the amount of time I'm there. It's just the price I'm willing to pay for hanging out and luckily everything they serve is great so it's a win-win for both of us! -

I love having this spot in my neighborhood. It's a wonderful, versatile cafe where you can find a delicious glass of wine, a dessert, a little snack, or a full-on meal. I had a glass of red and a chocolate cake. The cake was sweet and rich, and the portion was generous for only $6.50. The red was smooth and flavorful. The lack of wifi could be perceived as a drawback (as it is by a few reviewers here), but the result is that the cafe is full of friends chatting with each other and enjoying good food and drink, instead of individuals consumed with their laptops, nursing cups of coffee. I will definitely be back.

Coffee: decent. Almond croissant: awesome. Grinder: annoying screech. WiFi: none (WTF?). Suit to Tat ratio - extremely high, if not infinite. Fluffy dog: very kawaii. Barking fluffy dog inside echo chamber interior: ouch!
I would come back for the almond croissant - but, found out it is made by Phillippe Patisserie. So, started to google for whom else carries it - but, oh ... right ... no Wifi. At the risk of repeating myself: WTF? -

First of all the food is subpar for the price. I paid $6.00 for a tortillo and another $3.00 for an americano. Talk about ripped off. The tortillo was okay, luke warm because they forgot to bring it to me and bland.
BUT the worst part of the place is the owner- a real French snob. I came in at 11:00am, ordered my overpriced food and espresso and sat down to do some work. At 12:30pm I was told I needed to purchase something else because there was A LIMIT ON THE INTERNET TIME of ONE HOUR per customer. I kindly informed him that I was not even using the internet. He then came back 10 minutes later and began to SWEEP UNDER MY FEET!.
Obviously, I got the message and left- but funny how a MAN sitting there who was there for way longer than myself wasn't told anything. Clearly discriminatory.
Not thanks- I will not be coming back here. -
Review from Katie M.
I stopped by this morning to grab a bite and was impressed by how neat and tidy it was inside. The staff was extremely friendly - the gentleman from the kitchen even came out to see how I was liking my sandwich.
I was tempted to get a salad but I felt like something carb-y so opted for the salmon sandwich and orange juice instead. It was the perfect salmon and cream cheese baguette. It also came with cucumber and lemon, and everything was very stylishly plated. The salmon was really fresh and the OJ was pulpy (I LOVE pulpy juices). The portion was good, too - even though it cost me $12. The coffee prices were about right, though.
I would definitely be a regular if 1. I lived in the area 2. I drank coffee. -

Excellent hand made pastas with - gasp - Italian cooks in the kitchen (rare for Italian restaurants these days.)
Some of the most authentic Italian food in the city; I am half Italian and travel to Italy 3 times per year so I'm picky. Good house wine.
Also great for breakfast . On nice days you can sit at outside tables which are so sunny that even on cold days it is pleasant.
Casual atmosphere with friendly Spanish and Italian owners. -

Usually I try to avoid writing a review after visiting a place for the first time, but this time its owners who also attend Fiore have actually gave me an urge to write a review (and really, that's a first for me! I usually put it off for a while, until something which I think is a sense of community responsibility pushes me).
Anyway, let me say first that Eduardo and the other guy (didn't get the name) are the exact people you want to have as proprietors of a fantastic coffee shop where you are a regular. They just give you a sense of congeniality and most importantly, they pay attention, they pay attention to details. Very noteworthy.
Secondly, the caffè fare is just so enticing looking that until I saw the cannoli, I found it simply impossible to settle on one food item - couldn't even make a savory/sweet decision with the sandwiches and pastries looking as they did.
But, when the cannolli was spotted that was it, especially after learning from Eduardo that the shell is being shipped in from Italy and that the ricotta is made by the man himself. So.. my conclusion is that I've had to settle for Stella cannoli for much too long... pistachios in the filling instead of poor quality chocolate, excellent ricotta instead of whatever it is they are using over there in all those little italy shops and most importantly fantastic quality shell, brittle and light comme il faut.
The only other menu item I tried was the rice pudding, normally not my choice, but quite excellent.
Espresso is lavazza, which I was completely and utterly loyal to before getting used to the local San Francisco espresso marvels. So yeah, I'd recommend the espresso too.
There is wifi.
There is extremely pleasant decor, and the owners' good taste is revealed from all angles, the art choices, the basic structure, the colors, the bouquet.
Actually, even the restrooms look so nice that they could easily decide to put a few tables in there and except the existence of a latrine and people using it which might be less appealing to most, I bet you could be quite happy sitting there.
So yes, if everything is going to stay as it is right now, is an awesome reward to one awesome neighborhood. I'd recommend not wasting too long before getting to know it (and I say this at my own peril, I don't want to ever have to come in and not have a table...). So go-go-go and don't forget the cannoli! (only leave some for me, I'll probably come round soon) -

NO Wifi!
Not sure why a cafe would have seating if it doesn't have wifi.
People are nice, and they serve hard-boiled eggs (one of the only cafes in the Mission with something appropriate for a low carb diet), but no wifi should be advertised, since that's generally what one expects from a nice cafe in SF. -

Owned by two Europeans who really know their coffee and pastries. So awesome. They even sell Baci chocolates at the counter... love that!
The owners are awesome dudes who really knew what they were doing when they designed the place... it's freaking beautiful and made with all recycled wood.
Using all local coffee, tea and pastry companies, Fiore Caffè is what SF is all about - small, local businesses with personality selling quality products.
Great addition to the neighborhood and looking fwd to being a regular here!

I love this little cafe. It's adorable - full of marble, modern lights, a Victorian fireplace. It's light and clean and the owners are really nice. The service is incredibly fast - you never have to wait an hour for your coffee - and they keep dog treats at the register. There is a small food menu, and the pastries are good. There is plenty of indoor seating and they put tables outside as well. This is my new favorite cafe and a great little neighborhood spot.

Reading the other reviews, no wonder other 5 people gave it a 1 star!... and its true about what the other yelper said, the manager is so rude and if I could give him advice is to relax and be a little smarter.
It's a NEW cafe, there is no place to treat people with such rudeness or to allow employees do the same. Do you know how many places OPEN on mission and noe? and then CLOSE?...... be nice to customers, specially when they are being nice to you.
An the gal you have there.. if you want to be buddy with her, it's understandable, she's your employee and she's quite bubbly, with a sweet voice? My advice is that you ALSO listen to what customers have to say, clearly she would not tell you how rude she is or show her attitude to you, right? you're the owner!
Knowing about every single cafe in the area, I was extremely disappointed at their customer service. Anyone that knows cafes around the area people are pretty nice and friendly, laid back! ... perhaps this is why the gal made me feel pretty bad with her attitude. Definitely will not be back.
Just so the owner knows, I do and DID buy a whole meal the day before just like the rest of the Noe people that were eating there today (if that's what they care $$).
I had actually really liked the gal, she seemed pretty friendly and nice yesterday and my meal.
Today, I bought an iced coffee again to which she served it in a much smaller cup (definitely not 16oz). when I saw the menu for iced coffee 16oz is all they have and my cup was definitely not a 16oz (not like yesterday).
I politely asked her if this was a 16oz coffee, and she pretty much ignored me!..saying,... and I'm quoting her words " I think so, I think is just a bigger cup" ..and continue doing her stuff... very rude. (you don't say you "think" it is..is it or not?) I'm a customer and even if I paid $2.50 today you're not doing me a favor?)
I was like ok, well then I guess that's why... but as I looked at the guy next to me I realized this is not possible and whether it was or not, my point is that her reaction and attitude towards a customers inquiry is rude...
At that moment, I really just didn't like the vibe of this place...perhaps because today I didn't spend $15?? like yesterday?..I'm like a whatever customer now..?
I don't like to leave my cups on the table for them to clean it!.... i think is polite for customers to leave it closer to the kitchen or whatever..
so before I left I brought my cup to the front and as she looked at me I smiled and said...well... I dont think is 16oz..but is ok :-)....no big deal...
to which she rudely responded
" Why are you hustling me? if you want more coffee, i'll give you more coffee?"
Hustling her??.. So customers are hustling this place when they have a comment? what kind of cheap language is that? wow.
is not about the $$ or having more coffee is about the PRINCIPLE... and I did not like her attitude nor her response to my coffee question, to which she actually NEVER responded. She said she didn't have any more cups so SHE THINKS is the same?
I could pay for a second cup!!... but is not about that, so I really dislike that she had to talk to me with those sarcastic words.
Do the community a favor and support cafes where people VALUE a customer and not this uptight attitude. -

Finally, a lovely, european cafe in the Mission/Noe. I have been a handful of times, and have to share this elegant find with others. The espresso and coffee (iced is superb) drinks are lovely, the pastries are from a variety of great bakeries in SF (i.e. patisserie phillipe), and it is a warm, lovely space. Easy to stop by when driving up Guerrero in the morning (and evening!).
[On a related note, the 1-star reviews here are simply bizarre, seem planted, note how a few of these profiles only have 1 review, hmm...] -

Finally! A not-gross cafe on the south side of 24th street. Before Fiore there were just no good coffee options on my walk to BART in the morning. There's Muddy's, but I'm convinced repeated exposure to that place can only end in a staph infection. Enter Fiore - a clean, bright, welcoming place with nice staff and yummy coffee. And, if you'll permit me a "that's what she said" moment, the place has awesome wood. Very cool decor, from the floors to the door frames and counters. I'm looking forward to trying their food and pastries, but as of now I'm a fan!
UPDATE: I'm upping these guys to five stars after trying their food. Delicious! The spanish tortilla in particular is fantastic. -

Coffee ice cubes?! holy moly.
i can't tell you how much i hate when my iced latte is watered down with water instead of with more caffeinated goodness.
The espresso drinks are great - they are one of my favorites in the area (based on having tried jumpstart, la boheme, que tal, blue fig, ritual, and Grand). It's smooth and easy to drink.
the iced coffee is pretty good, though not as good as the espresso.
I haven't had the occasion to sit in the coffee shop yet, but i do agree it's odd that you can only be on WiFi for an hour... maybe a little more clarity - an hour per drink? WiFi with a minimum purchase of $3 bucks? I can understand a need for restrictions.. but a 1 hour time limit seems excessive. -

I had a great cup of iced coffee, I loved the iced coffee ice cubes. It's hard to impress me with coffee since it runs in my veins, so that being said my review should have a 5 star rating however everything else about Fiore Caffe was disappointing. The European staff member (which may or may not have been the owner) was not very social and basically did not smile, the interior of the space is awkward and the choice of seating was not very well planned, no WiFi & a very uncomfortable, stuffy feeling/atmosphere in what should be a casual cafe. Good coffee but bad at everything else. Also what is up with the bathroom? It was so much nicer then the actual cafe.

I love the food and coffee and the ambiance. It is very simple and clean. This is a wonderful place to catch up with a friend or read a book over a nice cup of coffee and a pastry treat. I really like how there are not thirty people on computers inside which is a great change of pace from a lot of the other cafes around here. Random note: the bathroom is really beautiful.

I have never written a review on Yelp before. However, I just had the worst experience at Fiore Cafe. I bought coffee there this morning and decided this would be the perfect place to get some work done on a gloomy Saturday morning. I sat there with a fellow law student, doing school work for a couple hours. She bought a latte and lunch.
We were completely unwelcome. The owner, I presume, came up to our table to ask if we needed anything else and we said we were okay. He proceeded to tell us that we cannot be on the Internet longer than an hour there unless we buy something. I bought another coffee. He then came over and pulled out the empty chairs at our table and swept under our feet. It was at that point that we decided it was time to leave this almost empty cafe.
This place is new. The coffee is just okay. The food is expensive. They have no place to be making customers feel unwelcome--customers who probably bought more in the hours we were working there than people who just stop in and leave.
Isn't the goal to retain customers and build a neighborhood reputation? -

beautiful, quiet, great coffee, friendly folks!
i spend way too much time in cafes (i'm one of those people you see sitting there for hours reading and writing - trust me, this lifestyle is not as cool as it looks!). that said i consider myself something of an expert on cafes in the mission.
this one is a keeper (yes, it helps that is around the corner from my house but that is not the only reason, i promise!)
The coffee is excellent and, contrary to a few other postings, i can assure you it is much more reasonably priced than many other places in the mission (take summitt cafe, for instance: $2.75 for coffee, $5 for tea!).
The owners are super nice and friendly and are really making an effort to get to know the folks in the neighborhood (it is cool when people remember and say hi to each other instead of pretending they don't recognize anyone).
They have free wifi and they take credit cards - major pluses!
It is really nice and clean inside (may seem trivial but trust me, there are some places around here that make you think twice about sitting down or touching anything).
Cool side note: the owners remodeled the place themselves putting in beautiful floors, nice artwork... i like it when people are good at lots of things!
i can't say anything about the food because i haven't eaten much yet but i know they are trying to open for dinner and i like the idea of an italian-spanish restaurant around the corner! -

This cafe manages to be stylish yet comfortable at the same time. I can only speak to their coffee, which is consistently smooth, soothing, and sufficiently strong yet not overpowering. This is really more of a catch-up with friends kind of cafe than a sit behind a laptop all day kind of joint. This morning I was told they don't have wifi, so I'm thinking they got rid of it, which is probably a good idea since the previous reviews suggest they don't really want people using it anyway.
