I wouldn't stop in here if I had an appointment elsewhere, sadly I didnt have an appointment and need a manicure ASAP, soooooooo, yeah I had a bad experience here.

The lady who did my nails awas nice, but, they made me wait 45 minutes (they said 10 minute wait), and my manicure wasn't even all that.

Although they offer threading so that's a plus.

I wont go back to this place when I go to Vancouver!

So pedestrian! Not impressed in the least as the clippings left my nails bleeding, especially the one toe as a ring of blood formed under the nail.
Definite lack of english; some better than others but unfortunately I got one who really had difficulty communicating other than asking me three times..."You don't want manicure".
I had to guide her by pointing out she clipped one nail yet left the other one beside it unclipped.
Yes she scrubbed off the dry skin and went through the motion but with no contact it made for a rather frustrating experience.
The worse thing was they told me they ran out of hot water so my entire pedicure was done in quite cold water. Not amused.
1 minute massage, cold water, no dialogue and bleeding feet......equals not going back in my book.

I was really hoping to like this place more than I did. Went here to get my gel nails filled. Was told to come back in 40 mins. Returned at the time I was told to and then waited 35 mins before the lady was ready for me. The nail technician was friendly enough, but....sadly I'd give my nails 2.5 stars. Maybe even 2 stars. They already look like they are lifting, and started to look like this by day 2! They aren't very shiny as there was only one layer of gel put in them. I also had glue ALL over my fingers. I spent hours picking of glue, or whatever goop it is, off the skin surrounding my nails. My skin is still raw! I was verrrry unhappy with them when I got home, but I've gotten used to them at this point.

Pro? Friendly enough staff, and fairly cheap ($35 for the fill).

Would I go here again for gel nails? .... no

Would I give their pedicures a shot? ..... yes

Came here on a sunny Sunday around 11:30am. Found the shop to be fairly busy but they thankfully fit three of us in for pedicures. While the sign out front says $30, we were actually only charged $28. Bonus. Especially as our usual place down the street charges $35 for a mani/pedi combo.

The massage chairs you sit in are a bit odd and tricky to work. I found it better to leave it off, but upon pressing the 'off' button, the chair moved so the back was on an angle forwards and it almost sandwiched me. Funny, but not amazing.

Nail wise, they have a small selection of polishes at the front desk and 2 big displays at the back of the store. Go to the back as you have better choices. The technicians are very thorough and I think this was one of the best pedicures I have had. Overall it took about 1 1/4hrs but they have tv's all over the shop and there are plenty of people coming and going to keep you entertained. The staff is quite large and so they seem to be able to accommodate walk-ins very well.

My two star deduction was due to the extreme clipping of my nails. Two toes ended up bleeding and are still fairly sore to touch. Not necessary! I also noticed that while the technicians wear gloves, my toes were touched and then her fingers were dipped in to the container containing a scrub used on your legs. Squidgy.

Overall, this is a good shop to go to and prices are pretty decent.

They always take extra time making sure your feet are free of callouses.  The massage on my feet and hands is so relaxing it is almost worth the price of the manicure and pedicure.  I always walk away feeling satisfied!  And let me just say my hands and feet are always a mess when I enter but are like new when I leave.

Called to see if it was too late to get in for a full set and they said no come on down.

I went in and even though i could tell they were going to be closing soon they were friendly and insisted i stay when i offered to come back the next day.

Cindy was gone away overseas  but the girl who did mine ( Vi ) was super nice, just as fast, and good !!  $42 for the full set ,with white tips, &  gel overlay !

I tipped her $12 for her fast service , great job and for staying and doing my nails!!

Hell ya i will be back !!

We walked in for pedicures one Sunday afternoon, without appointments. They were bustling and busy, but were able to get us both in within minutes. They did a great job on both of our pedicures, and didn't do too much upsales. They were able to sell me a manicure as well, but the overall total didn't come to more than $35.

I'd walked past the storefront many times, but when I need another pedicure/manicure, I'll stop in and see them again.

While we were there, a down to earth A list celeb filming in town came in to get an acrylic fill and a pedicure. That was enough of an endorsement for me!

This place is good if you have an impenetrable layer of callous on your feet like I do. The first time I went they propped my foot up on a yoga block to facilitate a long scraping session. I have since noticed that the more skin scraping they have to do, the less of a massage you get. Oh well! The pedicurists are very thorough and perfectionist, and the polish options are plentiful. The massage chairs are pretty intense. Overall a good option for a pedicure if you're in the Davie area.

Went in without an appointment and they fit me in for a mani/pedi right away even though they seemed very busy.  The staff was really friendly, and Amy did a great job and was very thorough with my poor cracked feet.  I'll definitely be going back.

This place has a special price on a manicure/pedicure if you are in before noon.  I paid $25 for  a pedicure and though I specifically asked the woman not to cut my nails, she did anyway.  I asked for filing only since I didn't want them too short.  There was some price negotiating going on by customers around me so this is a place where you can ask for a pedicure without leg massage at a lower price, for example.   The prolific  Yelper, "Victoria R"  makes a very good point that this industry is basically unregulated in British Columbia- unlike in other places, here you have to hope that the person doing your nails actually has some training.  With the woman doing my nails, there was a slight language barrier so I don't know how she would have answered the question if I had asked if she was trained.  Many Americans (in the US)  I know take their own set of implements to nail salons to ensure cleanliness and even wipe out the sink with an anti-bacterial wipe before it is filled with water.  I think Vancouver women are generally very relaxed and possibly naive about the possibility of infection from nail salons.  That said, this salon was quite clean but I would like to have seen some disinfectant for the implements they used.  The pedicure was fine but nothing exceptional.  The low point was the pumicing of the soles of my feet which was no more than I could have done at home.  I had to point out two spots where I had rough skin which needed to be taken off.  It would have been great if the woman had paid some attention to my heels.   There were at least 5 women working there so I can easily imagine that service might vary according to who is working on your feet and hands.

I originally gave this place 4 stars.  My first experience--acrylic fill and pedicure was good.  But, since then it's been very inconsistent.  One day I had a horrible fill, I had to come in the next day and have them redo it--it was rough and the white tips were chipping already.  I switched to Cindy, and it was fine for a while, but I found I had I had to come in every two weeks and get a polish change on my fill due to chipping and pulling away at the edges, then a full fill two weeks later.  Eventually I got frustrated and had the acrylics taken off.  Then a friend introduced me to solar nails at another salon, which have been heads above what I got at Design Fingertips.  However, the polish change on my toes had been the best.  Until last week, when I got Cindy again.  I don't know if she was angry that I took my acrylic business elsewhere, but I received a horrible polish change from her--it didn't even last a week, as she skipped steps and coats.  Usually a polish change lasts three weeks, hers chipped in days.  Their service is often inconsistent, and the horrible service I got last time ensures I will not be back there again.
