Finer Things Antiques certainly catches your eye on Agricola St. They usually have a great display window to draw you in.
I like Antique stores, but this one is above some others, things are not so cluttered here. Antiques are wonderful, I especially love the jewellery. They all have a history, sometimes you get to know it , sometimes you don't.
But you can buy it and create your own history.
The staff here actually allows you to look, the engage in conversation, but are not pushy. -

Hanging out on the corner of Antique Agricola and Almon, this shop is a treasure trove that always has me giddy upon entry.
If I understand correctly, there are a variety of sellers who have their goods there and who may be working at a a given time (tho I think it is owned by one person). This means you get a lovely mix of items from the really rather old to the new, mid-century stuff. And boy does the mid-century gear turn my crank! I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want people to know about all the drool-inducing goodies they have at the back of the store.
But every bit of the store is worth a little time - so many unique and interesting items.
And, very often, a hilarious, fun loving French bulldog. -

This weekend I tried on a $400 jade and diamond ring at The Finer Things. SHA-WING - it was totally perfect on my finger. But alas, the dilemmas of the working girl make it impossible for one to give in to such extravagant purchases.
I love this shop. The displays are organized and inspired, the merchandise is interesting and unique, and the workers/owners are courteous and knowledgeable.
My non-indulgence (on the pricey ring) does not mean I don't often make purchases at this shop. I have a number of necklaces, a 1950s horse lamp, a 1930s jewelry box (a gift from my deary-poo), and a very neat rhino ring. They also have a fantastic record collection, stereo set-ups, and some great furniture. Go in and buy something! But don't you dare touch my jade ring - I'm going to swing by and pick it up when I win the lottery next week.Listed in: Misses & Kisses

Finer things Antiques located on Agricola street has been there for many years. And it is truly amazing what you can find in these places to purchase.
A friend of mine goes to this location about once a week and never come back to work empty handed. Anything from old Christmas ordainment's that I know I smashed on my Mother as I found them to be to old my friend is walking through the door with the same ones and some of these he has actually paid $10 bucks for.
As well I have been looking for a Pyrex glass tea pot as I smashed my Mothers, see the theme here. Anyway off he takes me to Finer Things and after some digging and asking the staff who allow you to browse before asking low and behold there it was. Now there babies are not to cheap let me tell you but I did get it for what he told me was a great deal $45.
If you are ever in the mood to go Antique shopping I do recommend this location and make sure that you take your time as you never know what treasures people like me get rid of. -

This is probably the best antique shop i've ever been to! Limited clutter, no over-zealous sales staff and generally quite a few reasonably priced items with a) a fair amount of ware still left in them and b) a funky retro-vibe without looking old and worn out.
Some of the more interesting things that I stumbled upon on a recent venture were: a turquoise blue slide projector, "new three lane" cribbage set from the 1950's, old hockey magazines with some of the greats featured in their heyday and a neat old green teapot.
I liked the 1960's style full living room that was set up in the back as well. Overall, lots of neat stuff and no junk to be found at Finer Things Antiques. -

This place is awesome from the windows to all the nooks and crannies inside.
If you're not captured by the antique toy rocking horse in the window...you need to enter and find your own inner child inside. Antique trains? What about lamps and lighting fixtures, chairs, tables, chests, books....If I still haven't mentioned something to push your buttons, I hope I've at the very least tempted you into discovering your own 'collectible"
Whenever I go, I must admit, it reminds me of when I was a child visiting a great aunt and snooping in her drawers and cupboards. I'm waiting to get caught, but so far, only by the lovely staff who often provide a little history with my walk down memory lane.
