Coffee and movies, anyone? Check out this hidden place in a Hinterhof of Glogauer with it's excellent selection of movies to take home and a handful of books you can purchase or read while sitting around the large cafe area.

That's right, kids, this is hipster heaven and even if it gets a little crowded you can still be emo on your own and write heartbreaking poems into your Moleskine while everyone else is having a jolly good time. Whatever you prefer.

The Roderich also serves excellent breakfast and the friendly staff makes cheesecake that can turn New Yorkers into homesick little cry babies. Besides that they put up up film screenings, readings, theatre and things like that. And, yes, you will meet a lot of expats who don't like to be called expats.

This is a great place definitely worth the journey if you don't live in Kreuzberg and if you do live in Kreuzberg this might easily become one of your favorite hangouts anyway. Check out their blog for events and new additions to their video collection.

Oh yes, finally a place with a better than average film selection, a good order, and not too overwhelming or additionally padded with crappy films.

Even better is the space inside--a cafe in a large loft? Well why the hell not? So refreshing to be in a large space with room to breathe and chill in. Unfortunately, eventually more people will discover it... :)

I won't comment on food or drink at this point--I think in some cases,  space matters and in this case, it is the one elevating factor that should provide people the impetus to come.
