Finally went to this place after reading some good reviews and I am glad to say its one of the nicer, cooler bars I have been too. The dress code is kept strict so none of this baller rubbish.

The interior reminds me of walking into a show house with ornate furnishings and drapes and generally lots of fabric. The club has a central dance area, where there is not a bar on the side then there are booths for reservations. There are four bars in total, so getting served is never a problem.

Got their quite late but there was not much of a queue. The security was polite and smiling, and kept everything in order.

Once inside about 11.30pm it was already pretty busy so again I was surprised at their not being much of a queue considering what i read below about them.

Now I went on a Friday night, this is predominately an East Asian crowd and as is usual with Asian crowds in England, you got half the crowd which trying too hard (not smiling, posing etc...) and the other half that don't give a shit and are having a blast. So basically a mixture of pretentiousness and generally cool folk.

Where this club gets bonus points is the service, its quick, friendly, $3.50 vodka shots before 12am. My thanks goes out to Chris one of the workers there who helped me in a sticky situation.

So where does it lose the one start?? Well music, its not great. I think there is such thing as too much genres and I think anything from the 70s needs to be left for the pubs. I think at one stage it got really old school but personally I think there is enough good music in the last decade to run a 4 hour set easy.

I would go here again but probably on a Saturday to see the difference in crowd and vibe.

We're Asian so we figured why not check out an Asian club on our Toronto vacation? The other reviewers made it seem like it was going to be hard to get into FSC after 10:30pm but nope, we arrived at 11:15pm and there was no line at all. It was $15 per person and then $2 for the coat check.

    What I liked:
-$3.50 drinks (why can't LA have cheap drinks?)
-Nice bartender who served our $3.50 drinks
    -Clean bathrooms with short lines
    -Nice interior decor
-Location (3 blocks from our hotel)
-Lots of seating available even if you don't buy a table

    What I didn't like:
-The DJ. He had ADD and had to change the song every 15 seconds
-All the music the DJ played. I felt like we were in 1999.
-The Asians?  The crowd was so fobby, unattractive, and surprisingly old. Maybe LA just has better looking Asians?

Used to be somewhat a secret place for 25+ to club but even 19+ are coming out to avoid the fronting and gangsterness of the younger club crowds.

It's still not a bad place to go to unwind and bottle is reasonable compared to the other King St W clubs.

Tip: Banana JD and domestic beers are $3 before 12AM, not sure if they changed this but last time I went (July) we took FULL advantage of this.

Fridays: Asian nights. It's very crowded, so make sure you arrive early. Get there at 10.30pm if you can. Cuz after 11, you're hardly getting in. Good music though! top 40/house

Saturdays: 21+ or 25+ crowd. Everyone is hot. I love this place on Saturdays. top 40/house - Music is great. It's not too loud, like some clubs are. Not overly crowded so you have room to dance and not get elbowed in the face. Every time I come here on a Saturday, I've always had a good time. It continues to be my favorite spot.

I'm looking for a similar venue that's great on Fridays. Any suggestions?

It was my first time here in a while, let's just say before they renovated.

I like to get to clubs early because I hate waiting in line. And the semi-fullness of a club is the best. It's the calm before the storm where you can actually hear each other talk, and actually dance because there is room on the floor.

That's exactly the case here. We came in around 10:30pm and there were some people around, but it was nice.

The decor has become more rustic, and in the light makes it feel like you're in someone's trendy living room. I can see this as a great place to hold a corporate or wedding function.  Booths line the perimeter on a raised surface, which is nice as if you're sitting there you're not staring at people's crotches.

What I liked at first was the ample seating in the centre of the dance floor, huge plush loveseats. But then as the night filled up it just got in the way and really should have been moved. There were also some seating around the dance floor but seems like a tripping hazard to me.

Friday night. If you're looking for an Asian Boy, this is the place to be. There were definitely more boys than gals here. I also felt like I was in HK. If you're into that, this is great. The music was supposed to be hiphop and top 40, but it was more hiphop, some dance but very minimal, and the only songs I knew was anything released before 2005. Wasn't really my scene, but in this review I'm trying to be objective.

The place started filling up around 12pm, and by 1am it was so crowded that you couldn't stand there without being pushed around, let alone dance. Some of these people are extremely pushy and I dislike that.

Seemed like the place to be was the brightly lit bathrooms. High ceilings and individual stalls, it was a nice place to just get away from it all.

I liked the two coat checks, helped with getting things to move around quicker.

    $15 cover.

It so seems that people dress up for clubs again. People will be wearing dresses mostly. If you're anything like me, you might  be wearing too much clothes, so as to not look too hoochie, but then feel old, and hooch it up in the end. Guys are wearing jeans and a blazer mostly.

it seems like from their we website, there is another club open, Cabin Five, which is meant to be less elite, and a different crowd (according to the website) but I don't know.

I haven't gone to the Fifth for a while but it is one of the longstanding nightclubs in Toronto.  It has managed to outlast every club I have gone to since I moved downtown in 2004.

Good music, cheap drinks before 12 and always a decent crowd.  I have never gotten into any altercations here with obnoxious drunk people and generally the crowd is far more together than at most places - 19 or not.  The line up is totally worth the wait.  Now I kinda want to go back and soon!

What on earth is "the boathouse"?

    THE CLUB NEXT DOOR
So we get there at around 1 and the bouncer is ushering us to go next door b/c they're not letting anymore people in to this club.  The club must be affiliated b/c when we got in, we were able to get to easy through the "not so secret door". What was annoying was Easy wasn't at capacity and they could have let us in from the get go. ahem...gar!

I want to give the Fifth Social Club a 3.5 but since there is no option for this, I'll give it a 4 since it's closer to a 4 than a 3. Please keep in mind this is a rating for Friday nights.

I have been frequenting this place for the past 3 years on a somewhat regular basis. When I first started going to the Fifth on Friday nights, the crowd wasa little bit older, mostly 25 plus and the crowd was really mixed ethnically (30% asian, 10% indian and 60% white).

Moving forward to the present day, the crowd is a lot younger probably 21 plus and 90% asian. Hey, most asians are trend followers ( I can say this because I'm asian) and go wherever is popular but once the popularity dies down, they don't go anymore.

    Here is my review.

Drinks: $3.50 drinks before midnight, so this means domestic beers and mixed cocktails. $7 after midnight but most people go there early if they want to get sloshed.

Service: The best doorman Ken recently left and he was great and a perfect fit for this high end establishment. Also entrance is $15 unless you have passes or know someone. The male bartenders Dennis and Steve are really good, they are efficient and really professional and they know their drinks.

Music: It's okay, mix of top 40 and some old school.

Decor and Ambience: It's a really beautiful establishment and you can understand why many stars use to frequent this place back in the day and keep in mind for a club/lounge on the Richmond strip it's somewhat rare, since it's a club you would normally find on King St West (high class place).

Crowd: As I mentioned before, this is one area that is going slightly downhill, the crowd use to be slightly older and everybody was well dressed, guys wore blazers and dress shirts and the females dressed elegantly and not trashy. Now they let in guys wearing mma t-shirts.

This place has been around for a long time and gone through a few renovations.  Right now they have cheap drinks before midnight on a Friday (3.50 or 4...i'm not a big drinker so i'm not sure).

I went this past Friday and the lineup was all the way down the alleyway. If you go after 1045pm be prepared for a big line-up unless you are a regular or know someone that works there.

The music there is a mix. R&B hip hop, top 40...the usual.

Friday night is asian night but there is usually a mix crowd.

There is a low number of creepy guys and most guys don't persist if they see you are not interested.

If you buy drinks from a particular bartender and run a tab, they may give you free passes so you don't have to line up or pay cover.

Cover is $15 on Fridays. Not sure about any other night.

I don't know how this club has become so asian, but it has become the default location on Friday nights in the city with my friends.  Drinks are $3.50 before 12, and the bartenders are usually pretty good with getting orders out quickly.  The music is really hit and miss.  Sometimes the DJ plays a ton of Soca, which makes no sense because the crowd is 98% asian and everyone immediately stops dancing when it comes on.  I really like this club though.  Even though it's asian, it's not rammed with wannabe gangster asians like other clubs in Toronto.

I actually thought this place was pretty awful. I generally hate all nightclubs, so I'm trying to forget that and rate it vs other nightclubs in Toronto. So yeah, still awful...

The bouncer told us this place caters to 25+ crowd. Umm really? I'm pretty sure everyone in there was barely legal, except for the old dudes creeping the perimeter of the dance floor hoping that by some miracle (or maybe roofies) they are going to score some young lass. But yeah...college kids, good ethnic mix but more asians than anything else.

Anyway, we paid $15 to get in just before midnight, which I'm assuming is the normal cover charge. Wish this place would hand out reduced cover for ladies, like every other place!

The good thing was drinks were $3 up until midnight, so we managed to get a few quick rounds in while it was still cheap. At the stroke of midnight, drinks magically became $7. *sigh*

The music was fun, usual Top 40 crap but lots of good old school remixes and the dance floor was packed.

My friend even got her feet vomited on by some drunk douche at the bar. Classy!

Used to be named Easy & The Fifth.  Most still refer to it as Easy.

This is THE spot for my friends and I on Friday nights.  $3.50 drinks before 12am (Fridays only) and you're guaranteed a drunken night out.  Around 11:30, you'll see that everyone is by the bar trying to get their drink order in before 12.

Sometimes there is lineup outside and sometimes there isn't.  I'm not sure why, but it's usually worth it.  The bouncers are friendly but moreso towards girls.

The crowd is usually pretty yuppy.  I would say average age would be 24-26 and I hope they keep it that way.  You will notice an abundance of Asians on Friday nights.  Must be our frugal gene.

The music is Top 40ish.  You'll get your club anthems, hip hop, dance, with a bit of rock mixed in.  Even though they keep up to date with the music, you will pretty much get the same thing every week because it appeases everyone.

I've got to admit, I'm not a big fan of clubs... There's a few that I enjoy though, and this is one of them! Pretty good music, and drinks weren't too bad...
A group of us went out for a birthday party, so there was a pretty big group of us... But the club is a decent size, so we all had room to dance!

Getting in was a little rough even though we were on "guest list"... And as with most clubs, even if the bouncers are nice, they still let groups of girls in with short-short skirts and all that "I'm not a model, but with all this make up on my face you'll mistake me for one once you've had enough drinks" before all of the people who have been waiting patiently in line. Frustrating, but what can you do? It's like some unspoken "rule" of clubs. (The bouncer actually said "My boss said I have to let them in, they're 'working' some tables in the VIP"...) The bouncers are really nice there, and so are the bartenders -great service by the way!-, but this one guy who a bouncer said was the owner/manager or something (not sure if he really was) seemed to be a complete [___insert bad name here___].

Once we got in around 11, it really wasn't that crowded, which was nice. By midnight, the place really started to fill up though.

So my impression of this place is pretty good, and I'm sure I'd go again if I had the urge to go out to a club. :) Nothing crazy or over the top, but if you're there with a good group, you'll have fun.

I've never had any inclination to come to this particular club. I mean I've seen it heard of it but it sounded like the crowd was mostly late 20s early 30s and may be a bit pretentious since it is more upscale. Boy was I wrong! I went here for a friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was great and the DJ was AMAZING! The tunes just kept getting better throughout the night and the DJ even did a little classic rock combo or as I called it the Ode to Rock Band/Guitar Hero.

The drinks were decently priced and it wasn't too crowded but not empty. I would definitely recommend coming to this club all the time. I don't think I've ever felt this way about a club before, it's always the same, okay music, overcrowdedness and sweaty people all over you. Seriously, the people here are polite and they have manners. I had a few girls getting a little too wild around me and one almost flung her hair in my face and I gave a "wtf are you doing" look and she instantly apologized, no attitude.

I have not been on the patio but apparently it is a must, as my MOTHER has gone and she loved it and my mother is definitely not a patio person. So grab a bunch of girls or your favourite boy and head on over because the party is just getting started at the Fifth Social or as known as the Easy.

I feel as if I have out grown clubs. I do like getting out once and a while but I find it very hard for me to like the venue, crowd, drinks, and music all at the same time.

Fifth Social Club does it right. This nice little club, on the outskirts of the Entertainment District, manages to pull in a good crowd, great music, nice space, and cheap drinks all into one.

The small space offers a more intimate setting with all the fun of a huge mega club but without the pretentious feel. There is a nice sized dance floor with paper lanterns that change color throughout the night. The DJ is located on top of the bar. Yes on the bar, the DJ is elevated on top of the bar! I've yet to see that anywhere and it's great to see a DJ get that kind of attention.

The crowd is pretty nice and mind their space not like at some other clubs where people bump into you left and right. Drinks are served cold and very cheap, especially for a club with this kind of decor, at $3 a beer its a steal. There are bottle service booths located along the walls and have giant bay windows looking onto Duncan.

The bar staff, bouncers, and line men are not of the typical type. They are kind and you get service wit a smile, which is very surprising especially for a club. They're not there to just take your money but will talk to you and give you a different type of club experience for the better.

Overall, it was a great club and great night. Cheap drinks with a great clientele make me happy. Will consider going back for when I do have to go clubbing. When I do go back I may just have to give it that extra star. 4 for now just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

Oh, I love Easy!. It was called Easy & the Fifth when I used to go there almost every weekend so I still call it Easy, hehe. Now, I don't go there that often but it is still great place to have fun and dance. I like the layout and the bars, also the VIP booths are very nice and big. I used to celebrate there my birthdays and New Years.. one Year it was great - lots of free snacks and champagne, next year - no more snacks, only small very dry champagne bottle. Anyways, I still love this club. Lines are usually not that long and even if so, its very easy to get in fast. And most important, the music is gooood!! Entrance usually was $10-$20. Not sure how it is now.

the fifth used to be called "easy on the fifth", but they had to change it since nothing is easy at the fifth.

    the prevailing themes:
there is ALWAYS a LINE-UP... to get in, to pay, to check your coat, go to the bathroom, get drinks, etc.
it's ALWAYS PACKED... and for good reasons too, including being a close walk to the subway; $3 bar rail drinks (e.g. gin/tonic, vodka/cran, rum/coke) before midnight; and a more "mature" crowd compared to others in club district (e.g. mean age is 25 vs. 20 years old)

    bring: patience and subway tokens

I have thrown 2 parties here at the Fifth and both have been very successful. This venue is about 600 capacity, has a good layout and is very central.  If you want to throw a classy party, you should call them up.  On a regular night, you will see a huge college crowd that wants the $3 drinks.... BUT that being said, the venue is beautiful for special events.
