Great sandwiches and soup, but pricey if you order both.  The sandwich is big enough for lunch on it's own.

You'll be offered cheese but not told you'll pay for it....

Busy around noon and early afternoon, the staff handle the lines quite quickly.

Quirky cashier that's there most of the time always cracks a little joke.

Anyways, you can blow $7 on fast food or get a nice, hearty, nutritious sandwich for the same money.....that's why I come here.

went here for lunch about a month ago. It's a lovely little space (the decor is great) with a warm and welcoming environment. The sandwiches are good & very filling, if nothing special.

But the pie - oh the pie! It's decadent and sweet and wonderful & filled to bursting with fruit. You can also get it with whipped cream or ice cream too.

Best of all? If it's your first visit to Fife and Deckle, the pie is on THEM. No, I'm not joking, it really is FREE.

I left a very happy and very full girl :)

Sure, you can make a sandwich at home... but can you may pie like Fife N' Dekel?

If the answer is yes, I'm eagerly awaiting an invitation to a dinner party at your place!

If you're like me, and you like picking up the occasional lunch-to-go on your lunch break or before heading into work, and you don't want the typical fast food place or Tim Horton's, this is your stop.  A variety of beverages await you, as well as a variety of sandwiches and soups.

Rye bread? Multigrain? White? Turkey, PB&J or Tuna? There are a variety of combinations and vegetables for you to add. Want a soup or salad for your sandwich? They've got some options.

Their pie case usually has at least half a dozen different varieties for you to try, and there are normally cookies and other baked goods to take with you as well. The pie is delicious and every month a new monthly pie is featured.

The service at Fife N' Dekel is friendly, and never without a smile. It's the kind of place where you ask to speak to a manager to commend the great customer service.

The prices are a little pricey, and I wouldn't recommend this to be an everyday lunch destination for hungry nearby workers. However, if you do stop by there is seating to accommodate you and your lunchmates.

LOVE IT LOVE IT...the bread itself is fantastic..I reccomend the montreal smoked sandwhich with a slice of pie. I love pie they have any kind you want, you can even joy the pie club and they will send you a pie a month. My fav is the fresh Strawberry pie, I was there for 2 straight weeks because of that pie...fannnntastic. The staff is super friendly and if your there enough, like moi, they get to know you and greet you by your name. Just awesome. Ive taken others there and I've never heard a complaint. GO HERE NO JOKE

Fife N' Dekel isn't anything special. At least their sandwiches aren't.

The sandwiches are good but seem a bit overpriced for what you are getting. You could definitely make most of this stuff at home. I was more impressed with their desserts. They have one called the embellished brownie that is served with your choice of ice cream or whipped cream. Ice cream is the way to go. It is a really great dessert and it was less than $3.

It's worth checking out but don't expect to be blown away. If I were to go again it would be to stop in for some dessert.

I had heard so much hype about Fife N' Dekel that I figured it was finally time to try it. Ugh. What a disappointment.

Why did I just spend $18 on two sandwiches I could have made at home? Was this supposed to be the appeal? "Home made?"

My sandwich was dry (my boyfriend claimed this was because I didn't put mayo on my bread, which could be part of it, but the turkey was pretty dry too...) but the bread was certainly fresh.

I like that they seemed to use really fresh produce, but again, I could have spent $6 at Sobey's and bought all the produce and bread and made myself the exact same sandwich.

The place was hopping, and the line was moving very fast, so I can see the pull that this place may have. The desserts looked amazing, but I didn't try one.

The only reason I would go back here would be to try one of their lemon meringue pies (which looked HUGE) or pecan pies. I will not return for the sandwiches. I suggest you do not go out of your way either.
