I had a gift certificate set to expire at the end of December 2010. So I called them up mid-December and booked an appointment for a massage for 2 days prior to Christmas.
The lady who answered the phone actually worked at Abigail's hotel, in which the spa is located, and took down every bit of my info in order to relay it to spa staff when they next arrived. She could have had me call back when a Feature's employee was there, she could have known nothing of the spa's services, but she was far too kind and eager to help.
I had the option of several different types of massages- Hot Stone, Shiatsu, Swedish, Deep Tissue- and I opted for the 1 Hour Aromatherapy for $94. Well-worth the price, and competitive with many day spas around town.
The day of my appointment, I was greeted in the hotel library (after I arrived far too early for my appointment, but benefited by drinking free tea and reading the newspaper in the beautiful space) by Waterfall, a kind, warm soul hailing from Salt Spring Island.
Waterfall customized the massage to suit my needs. I chose my Aromatherapy scent based on her detailed descriptions of each, explained which areas I wanted more or less focus on, and she chose to spend more time and energy wiping off the oils before sending me on my way, because she's brilliant and understood my skin wouldn't have benefited from anything less.
Waterfall kept the energy so well throughout, I didn't fall asleep for fear I'd miss out on such bliss. And it was indeed blissful.
