Review from DineoutGal A.

I've had dinner three times here - it's a good dining option if you want to go to a place with a relaxing vibe, good bistro food with moderate prices. It doesn't boast a huge menu but there's enough choices for everyone. The menu has changed slightly since my first try in April.
Dinner always starts with a complimentary amuse bouche from the chef. The last time I was there, we were served a vegetarian summer roll. A serving of bread followed the amuse bouche - the bread is okay - it doesn't taste freshly baked and can be a bit chewy.
Appy's - tried the crab cakes and mussels. Appy's were good and shareable between two people.
Most of the entree dishes are in the low to mid $20 range. I always enjoy the cornish game hen alla diavolo - I love the taste of the grainy mustard and the spice rub. It's a good sized game hen that's cooked perfectly and accompanied with seasonal vegetables and a mushroom risotto. I love a nice creamy risotto and this one doesn't disappoint. The salmon agrodolce was seasoned well and cooked perfectly (crisp skin but not overcooked).
The beef short ribs were unfortunately overcooked; it had good flavours but I've had better at other establishments - although it was accompanied with a yummy serving of polenta. The osso bucco isn't on the menu anymore and was highly recommended at the time by the server - it was a bit disappointing as it was also a bit dry.
The entrees portion sizes are normal sized for a bistro. There's also a few pasta dishes on the menu but I never tried any of them.
There's a fazzo market take out on the side of the restaurant and there is a patio. It's open seven days a week.
All in all a good Winnipeg bistro - compared to other bistros in the city, it is definitely more consistent than Bistro Seven and 1/4 or Inferno's Bistro.
