I try to limit my red meat consumption, but every once in a while I do get an urge to eat a burger. And this was the day. I actually ordered the Philly Steak and Poutine,
With it's 50's/60's style, I really like the look of this place.
The food was fresh and tasty and it filled my cravings nicely. Lest then $40 bucks for two people even with the $5 dollar tip. I was more then satisfied. -

This was my first Fatburger experience. Something about the name made me think that the tables would be smeared in bacon grease and everything would be sweaty and glistening.
Actually, this location is very clean, and the service is quick and efficient. After you order, they give you a number and bring the food to your table. The burgers are definitely a good size, as are the fries. I had the veggie burger while my boyfriend had the mushroom swiss. The veggie burger was better than expected, and my boyfriend quite liked his burger. The veggie burger had a certain. "meatiness" to it in the sense that you feel very fulfilled afterwards.
It isn't cheap. A burger with fries comes out to the same price you'd pay at one of the local pubs or bars, minus drinks and tip. Good for if you are craving a quick meal or takeout, but don't want a tiny sad looking burger from the other fast food joints. One lemonade, two burgers with one fries came out to just over $22 (luckily we had a groupon).
There is also a Vera's just steps away but I haven't been there yet so can't compare the two. -

We just came back from watching the Canucks lose at Fatburger, but we "scored" a great meal at this place.
The place is clean and well serviced by the friendly staff. The game was playing on 2 TVs. I've also watched International soccer here.
We had two specialty burgers, a chili fries which came with sour cream and fresh guacamole, a Caesar salad and two pints of beef for $36 A little on the the pricey side, but the food was excellent and you can't compare it to fast food outlets. I had the mushroom/cheddar burger and the mushrooms tasted real & grilled. The meat was well cooked and still juicy. These burgers actually looked like the pictures!
We picked up the frequent purchase card to get one free because we'll be back! -

Not a big fan of this chain offering. The burgers tend to be wet and runny - not the the good juicy kind. The fries are below average. The mushrooms are the kind you would get out of can. Also the price/value relation is a big miss here.

I really never thought I would venture in anywhere with the word FAT in the title but I was thuroughly impressed by the service and the food at this location.
This weekend we were hungry (and not just for brains) after zombie walking from the VAG... and we got filled with burgers and beers fast and conveinently at this joint.
The veggie burger was delish and on a whole wheat bun! Perfect! My friends enjoyed their meaty burgs too.
Def a good place to filler-up.Listed in: Greatest Hits

And now I know why there was a line up at Vera's burger, and there was no line up here-.-
My friend last night decided to pig out, and what came to mind - burgers, fries and True Confections cake:D whaaaaaa?! Count me in girlfriend! mhmmm...how could I say no to that invitation? I know, nobody can!
I found her standing in line at Vera's, but then she suggested to go to Fatburger since she saw no line up there...oh what a mistake...
Burger meat was completely bland, and bacon was almost raw (I know, ewww), impossible to chew! I threw away half of my California burger, and ate fries, which were ok...just ok..
Service was what you'd expect from a place like this, so no coments there.
Do yourself a favour, and don't come here...evaaaa!
We drowned our disappointment and sorrow in our desserts, which were fabulous btw! -

Ohhh myy goddd.
Melted swiss cheese and caramelized mushrooms on a burger sounds as good to me as dung to a dung beatle...?
ANYWAY, it's amazing. But really, the mushrooms are the star of the show. Y'know that distinct earthy buttery taste you get from mushrooms? Well, y'get lots of that taste here but with different kind of textures since the meat comes into play. But seriously, I held myself back from eating too much. Although, I could have devoured the whole thing even though I had a giant ass bowl of ramen before.
It came with fries and my sister also ordered a Vanilla milkshake. The fries were straight-out-the-fryer hot and with the ketchup, they tasted great as well. Although, I'm not a huge french fry fan, when it's fresh, I don't mind. The vanilla milkshake was the "dessert". And it tasted like a regular vanilla milkshake. Nothing spectacular. Wasn't too thick or watery. (HATE HATE HATE watery milkshakes)
Overall: Melted Cheese + Mushrooms

Decent food. Price might be a bit high but food is tasty. We ordered pulled pork, chicken filet and mushroom burger. All taste pretty good. Drink is free refill and they will provide water if no drink is ordered. If the fries is bottomless like how red robin does it, it would be perfect.
Interior and restroom r both clean.
After ordering the food, server will bring the food over. That's a fairly nice service.
Better food then Macdonald that's for sure. -

Awww... "Flat" Burger.
There is good and bad to this story.
First the good. Really I want to give them more stars just for this alone:
No bread crumbs or wheat in the meat! So to me, that means pure protein, no gluten.
BUT:
The bad news is.... no flavour. (boo). Come one guys, put some Onion and Garlic powder in there.
I have to add though, that the counter service person was very good about my very weird order of a meat patty on fries. -Hah! --Yeah!
I know, but it gets the job done. Fills me, with starch and protein. (and fat tehee!)
He charged me for an "extra patty" only. So even though this was not delish, I might just go back in a pinch.Listed in: Yelp-thrashed. The sh*t list.

This place was really disappointing and actually kinda expensive. I think it came to $10 for a burger with cheese and a large soda, no fries. I was actually kinda shocked by the price after I ordered.
The burger was pretty standard. The patties were slightly thicker than what you would get at like McDonalds, so if were comparing this place to McDonalds, that already lets you know the quality.
The only real plus to this place is that the burger comes really hot because I think they grill it for you fresh. Otherwise, there are dozens of other places I would rather go for a decent burger.
I'm actually a big fan of huge patties cooked medium served on a buttery or really sesame seedy bun, onions, maybe some mayo, maybe some ketchup, blood dripping down your fingers. Recommendations?!? -

Glad that we stopped in.
Burger was cooked to order and just as good as I remembered FatBurger to be. We took our grub into nearby Stanley park and enjoyed the meal watching the lights of the Harbor come on.
The restaurant, employees and bathroom were clean. The staff was very friendly and took pride in their work.
Overall I would highly recommend this burger joint. Looking forward to my next visit North! -

I have to agree with Adam K above. I found the name "fat" burger very misleading. I mean, I went with my buddy and ordered their "famous" burger; turned out it was no bigger than a McDonald's quarter pounder.
The burger patty was dry and the buns were kinda dry, too.
As Adam said above my review, if this burger joint (at least they think it's a burger joint, I think otherwise) is being compared with McDonald's.. it tells you something.
For over $10 + tax, I could have gotten something similar from McDonald for less then $6. -

I happened to luck out when I went to Fatburger on the opening day. It was packed and the cooks (I use that term loosely) were eager and in the mood to please. It was a nice burger, when I say nice I mean it was fresh, hot and tasty. Fries were ok, nothing too special and serve yourself drinks. The other reviewers are right, it is pricey and the burger isn't a big one for what you are paying but a lot of people swear by the place...second only to In and Out Burger. I would say now that Roanna nailed it when she said pure protein no filler and that means a lot...compared to Vera's where I tasted way too many bread crumbs especially at the Commercial Drive location.
I personally like the Denman location better, I have tried both and I found the presentation better at Denman and it is bigger than the hole in the wall at the Terminal skytrain location.
I won't discount Fatburger because you get a fresh, hot grilled burger, yes expensive but at least your not paying for 1/2 beef, 1/2 filler.Listed in: Fast Food! Good, bad and Real…

Fatburger didn't meet my expectations. The service was really excellent, but the burger was nothing special, just your standard fast-food fare (Vera's, or for Americans, even In-n-Out, offer much better burgers.) The fries were too salty, which I didn't think was possible.
Fatburger just isn't worth the price, or even the clogged arteries. -

Normally wouldn't review a chain, but it bears mentioning that the veggie burger here is different than their U.S. version. The U.S. version is nothing special, but its Canadian cousin is fucking amazing! I'm not sure what it's made of (I do know that it contains peas), but it was fresh and delicious. One of the best veggie burgers I've ever had, and I've had A LOT.

The burgers are barely better than what you would find at McDonald's, but they're certainly more expensive. The fries and onion rings are nothing special either. There's no reason to come here when there's a Vera's so close by.

On our final day in Vancouver West End my husband had wanted to try the Fatburger; so we did. The burger is good, not the best but it is good. It is juicy and the bun and toppings also good. The fries were the best of the meal - not strings but a good size and crispy the way we like them. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean. That's about it - it's a burger joint - what more can you say.
