I had found Fatburger on Yelp! while I was looking for a place to have dinner before a movie in Sunridge. I love burgers and I love them even more when they are thick and meaty. And Fatburger had just that.
I found it be a bit confusing when ordering. Although their website says they have combos, I dont think its what Id consider a combo (combo means getting a deal by buying all together as a meal) because I felt like I was paying for each thing (the burger, fires and the drink)
The food was amazing though. I was more than pleased with the amount of food given (considering what you pay for it) and the taste was very good. My boyfriend tried their shake and it was SO GOOD! I was kicking myself for not getting one it was that good. -

The food quality is decent and consistent. The restaurant is always clean and the staff polite and quick.
I appreciate the choice of opting out of the garnishes and have never left the restaurant hungry.
But the I really miss the enthusiastic echoing of shouting out the orders of the other location and the first few months this location was open.
The staff are competent and quiet. What attracted me to Fatburger originally was the enthusiasm of the staff for their food prep and customers.
This is my husband's favourite burger joint, so we go there a lot. And he compares everywhere else to Fat Burger.
If Hubby was a Yelpin' fella, he'd give it a solid four stars. And since we like to keep him happy, we go to Fatburger but make him expand his horizons by trying new Yelp-bits a couple of times a month. -

I must admit that I love Fatburger. I like that there are so many topping options. My favorite is the junior fatburger (think that's what it's called) with bacon and cheese added.
While I like the burgers, I must admit that my real love affair is with the onion rings. They are made from real onions & are made fresh daily (shocking, I know!). The breading is cornmeal instead of the fish & chip like breading some places use.
I keep going back to Fatburger because these are the best onion rings I've found. -

I have been to the other fatburger down at deerfoot, so I thought I would compare the 2 and also comment on my latest visit.
This location is significantly smalller than the one at Deerfoot, but for some reason I liked it better. I dunno, maybe it was the brightness of the location, there are lots of windows and it was a nice sunny day!
However there were less booths here than at thier other location and I like booths.
There is alot of more available parking here than at Deerfoot ( deerfoot gets nuts).
As is typical of Fatburger the food was hot, fresh and tasty. I had the veggie burger( I think its the best in town, if not the best I have ever had)and onion rings. The onion rings were excellent, hot, crispy, with full rings under the crunchy batter. Drinks here are serve yourself and unlimiited and your order is always served with a large paper ramekin of Heinz ketchup.
They have really nice seasoning salt on the table which I quite enjoy.
You have to wait a few minutes while they cook your order- to order.
All in all, I have to say Fatburger is great, and so is this location. -

The price was ridiculous . $40 for 2 burger meals??? Never again

I don't get the appeal of this chain. What I had was just like any fast food burger but not as tasty.

Fatburger is a fast food revelation.
Where else can you get a fat, juicy fast food burger, topped with the freshest ingredients, and a cold draft beer to wash it down? Only at Fatburger, I tell ya.
Sure, it's not as fast as your typical fast food joint, and it costs a little more, but you'll understand why when you get your meal, which is made to order and delivered hot to your table by the friendly, efficient staff. Since I was here just for a snack, I ordered a Babyfat, which cost $3.99, and came loaded with lettuce, onions, mustard, relish and pickles. The beef patty was perfect - thin, charred just the right amount - just the way I like it. You can add cheese, bacon, or mushrooms to your burger if you so choose, and they offer combo meals that include fries or onion rings and a drink.
I dare say that until Calgary gets an In-N-Out franchise, Fatburger will reign supreme as the best fast food burger in the city.
