This is one of my favourite restaurants in the Market Place Square because you can get healthy food that is delicious and affordable. This deal is hard to find in the ByWard Market! I often get one of their vegetarian quiches with one of their many salads. After finishing my meal, I'm always pleased and full to the brim.
They also sell schnitzel, tourtier, pies and European grocery items. They don't use preservatives in their food either.
They don't have much seating, so you may have to take your food elsewhere. I haven't had a problem with seating yet though. -

Farm House is a tasty, home-cooking restaurant in the Byward Market that makes food just like your momma made...providing your momma was from Europe, that is. They have a variety of pies (many pumpkin pies this time of year), quiches (for non-real men), schnitzels, perogies, and soups. The selection is not huge, but everything is fresh and homemade. Their pie crust is rich and flaky - almost (almost) overshadowing the deliciousness of the contents. My quiche was FULL of yummy, fresh ingredients. But, I wish I got a bigger piece. But, then again, that is Byward Market. Nevertheless, it is pretty reasonably priced and you get a really nice homey feel from the staff.
