I don't think the well-known inexpensitivity of the Warehouse needs any further praise. Six stomachs full of wings and 8 pints for $80. Nuff said.

Aside from cheap eats, the place has a really nice chilled-out vibe. The service was also really good, especially considering how packed the place was, and how little everyone spends in there.

One thing to know about the warehouse is that it's not a good place for a quick bite. That's the only reason I docked them a star: while the food is great and the prices are even better, I just can't give a perfect rating to someplace I won't come to unless I have hours on hand for pub food.

hmmmm where to start.... The staff seems like a good choice.

We walked in and the first person we was didnt bother greeting us just promptly told us we needed to wait outside by the door until a table became free. The second waitress was a little friendlier as took us to a table, which was outside at the edge of thier front patio. I mentioned I was a little concerned about getting wet because it was raining but she assured me that the awning would cover me. Which it didn`t. so my back ended up wet.

We ordered wine. It was decent butttt it came in a short glass. Not a wine glass. and it wasn`t really very much for the $7 something it cost.

I had the mushroom burger which was really good so it made up for the wierd wine situation. and for 5 bucks who could go wrong???

When it came to paying they did not have debit. again, I HATE places that dont have debit during food hours. Its stupid. Again a huge over charge to use the ATM inside. I find it annoying. Just one more server who suffers tip wise because of lack of debit.

and wait for it... wait for it....

AS SOON AS WE LEFT SHE PULLED DOWN THE WINDOW COVER FOR THE AWNING!!!!!!!!! seriously?? The entire time i was sitting there get rain soak on my back, even though I voiced my concerns, she waited until we left.

    EPIC FAIL.

would I go back? I'm torn... The burger was good and cheap but the staff?? they need to take the stick out of thier butt and be a little more service oriented.

We stopped in here for a quick bite and some drinks.  Sat at the bar, they didn't list drink prices, but think it was only $40 or so for five double sapphire and tonics.  Think most of the beers were ~$5.  Food was typical average bar food, nothing too exciting, but cool everything was only $4.99 and looks like they have good deals depending on the particular night.

As a self-professed cheapskate, I am appalled that I did not know about this haven of $4.95 eats earlier!

Bless my dear friend for bringing me here for a weekday dinner.

Being true blue bandwagoners, we had no idea a game was on that night.
Good thing was we were able to snag a table.
Bad thing was the other tables had to endure our comically belated cheers.
Best thing was we won! (hey, I care).

Her burger w/ local greens and my sliders w/ peppered fries: juicy beef, tasty sides, solid portions.

Beer-batter onion rings: STRAIGHT UP, deep fried crack.
In a city ridden with oily crusts and limp innards, hats off for getting this juust right!

Overpriced generic chains, you oughta be ashamed of yourselves!

when almost everything (food-wise) is $4.95 on the menu, you can't really go wrong. their food is good, and is actually only $4.95 (for burgers, wraps, fajitas, poutine, etc.) but beware of their drinks... $8 doubles (before tax) is how my bill all of a sudden went from $5 to $30. their drinks is definitely how they make their money, because everyone is so distracted by the cheap food. they actually don't advertise the prices of their drinks on the menu (so sneaky) and it's only by experience that i know that pretty much all of their drinks are pricey.

I don't usually buy lunch/dinner, but for a $4.95 menu that is filling, this is pretty good. Been here twice and I'm satisfied. Haven't tried the drinks yet.

    It's pretty loud in there.

This is place is our pre-concert go-to. The food is actually pretty good, never mind the fact that it's only $5 a dish (though that helps). We typically split an order of chicken wings to start then each get a burger that comes with a side (salad for me, fries for him) and we are pleasantly stuffed for $15.

    However...that doesn't include drinks.

    And yes, we drink.

And no, the drinks are not $5.

I wouldn't say they're ridiculously expensive, as they seem to be pretty standard for the Granville Entertainment District, but I do find it a little bit deceptive that they don't publish their drink prices on the menu. Hmm...

So here's your official warning: despite cheap food, it's REALLY easy to rack up a big bill here in the blink of an eye. I'll never forget the first time we came, there were 6 of us eating and drinking before a show at the Commodore. Beers turned into highballs, highballs turned into shots, and soon enough my husband and I had a $120 bill. We both looked at each other like, "Whaaat??? But the food here is so cheap!"

Yes, the food is cheap. Drinks are not. Eat here anyway, and do both your liver and your wallet a favour and limit the booze.

I was hoping to enjoy the Warehouse place because it's so cheap but it didn't win my heart this time around!

I settled into the outside patio on a Saturday night because the music inside was almost deafening. It was warm and the waitress was pretty attentive considering how busy it was. Drink were a bit of a rip off in price and they had no specials, no cheap booze = boo!

I got the taco/nacho wrap, not sure the name of it and it was aweful. I am not crazy about spice so I opted out on the jalapenos but I couldn't even taste the food in the wrap because it tasted like it was full of tobasco sauce, the only spicy thing in it could maybe be the nacho cheese or salsa but I could hardly eat it. It was fiery, angry and pure evil! Bah, gross!

I used to hit up The Famous Warehouse every Tuesday for their all-you-can-eat tacos for $6.95. It's limited to beef hard-shell tacos, but I'm okay with that. They come with beef, cheese, lettuce & sour cream. The one thing I'm not a fan of in regards to the toppings is that they mix lots of salsa in with the beef as a filler. There's no way around the sharp salsa taste.

All in all, this was fairly enjoyable for me up until my last visit. I took a lunch break from work, grabbed a co-worker and headed over to fill our faces with taco goodness. We were seated fairly promptly, but told that we now have to buy a drink in order to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat taco Tuesday special. The thing is, it was a $4 orange juice. This turns the $6.95 all-you-can-eat taco deal into $10.95+tx. Now it's starting to look more like false advertising or hidden fine print which was not there before.

Next, they only take cash. They have an ATM with a $2.50 service fee for using the machine. These guys are looking sneakier.

We got our first plate of tacos within about 20 minutes of being there, which definitely should have been quicker for a Tuesday. The second round took them another 45 minutes to bring to the table. At that point I was late to go back to work and still hadn't gotten my fill.

The Famous Warehouse is not filling the boots of El Furniture Warehouse in my opinion. I'll find somewhere else to eat on Tuesdays from now on.

I like the atmosphere here and music selection. Food is cheap, and decent once you had a couple of cocktails and/or beers.
You wouldn't go to this place to eat anyways... This place is great to go to with friends to hang out. I went there on a Wednesday night with two of my friends and it was pretty full. Service is laid back, not pushing you to order or hanging around you non stop. Also, the guy that worked at the door was cute, so having all that in mind, yes I will be back!

My friend wanted to check out this place after some of her coworkers told us about it. We went for lunch. It was actually pretty busy for being a bar at noon, but I'm sure most people know about the sweet prices they have.

I was sick with a cold so I ordered an orange juice. I actually got two, but they don't have free refills for OJ (most places don't). I have a burger and fries and it was $5. These are pretty basic burgers, you're not gonna get a gourmet burger, but for $5 I didn't have any complaints. Unlike some fast food joints with low burger prices (I'm looking at you McDonald's) I didn't end up with a horrible stomach ache after eating at Famous Warehouse. So that's a good thing, cheap burgers but they don't make you feel like crap afterwords.

I can totally see why people like this place, decent food at a decent price. Especially after hitting some of the bars on Granville, head in here for a burger or some tacos, hells yeah. The only thing I can say is the service was a little slow, but I didn't really care about that. I'd come back here the next time I'm in Vancouver.

ALL YOU CAN EAT TACOS $6.99!!!

But if you're not looking to get your belly filled with tacos, you can get them for $4.99.  Food is pretty cheap here and it's pretty good.  The regular tacos has more meat and salsa.

This joint is pretty chill.  They played all 80-90s rock/metal that night we were there.  Tunes fit to destroy platters of tacos!!!!  Music was cranked up, so don't come here to catch with old buddies.  Come, drink, eat, watch old music videos haha

    Great service, friendly and quick!

$5 for food. How bad could it be? When will I learn to stop asking stupid questions?

The Famous Warehouse is great, it has a fun dive bar feel and is staffed with some cool people. Snowboards are stuck to the wall and it's loud and party friendly. Eat there only if you want some fries or to line your stomach. Do not go there for dinner. My sister had the saddest fish tacos in the world and my burger, well it was bigger than a Mc Donald's but that is not always a good thing.

She paid $9 for a glass of wine, in a tumbler. Classy.

I was actually torn for this rating, as there are things that deserve 5 stars in this place, and some that deserve 1.

    Pros:
    1. Yes, the food really is $4.95.  You can get a burger + fries + salad for this much.  McDonald's costs more than this!  Food tastes tastes pretty decent too.
    2. Lots of character.  The joint actually feels likes a chalet in the middle of ski bum country, or something from a Kokanee commercial.
    3. 80's music galore.  My friends and I had a ball trying to guess each music video.  Hello retro..

    Cons:
    1. Drinks are like $6 for a beer.  Yes, your glass of beer (they're smaller than pints) cost more than your meal.  Cokes are no better at $3 for a tiny glass that's half ice, with NO refills.
    2. Groups of 5 and over get charged a.. mandatory 21% gratuity!?  I can understand 15%, but 21%!?  Are you kidding??  This one is NASTY.
    3.  Oh, and did I mention a mandatory 21% gratuity for groups of 5 and over?

I'm sorry, but when a burger and beer end up costing some $17 just because I came with 6 friends, that just doesn't fly.  Next time I'm going to order water and come with only 3 friends.  Or as a large group, we're just going to conveniently sit at 2 adjacent tables.  This is worse than a Rogers cell phone contract.

Don't say I didn't warn you.  Caveat emptor.

    **UPDATE**

Just came here as a group of 4.  All of us ordered burgers with ice water.  So, the tab was $24 total for all of us.  I am a happy camper once again.

$4.95 for all food items on Granville St? Are they crazy? Last time I checked, McD's was more expensive.

I set the bar low walking in to this place. $4.95 must mean absolute crap food that takes longer than Bon's right? Surprisingly not.

We ordered fish tacos, caesar salad, and the works burger. Their $4.95 tacos by far beat the $16 ones at Monk McQueen's. Burger was not bad.

Even more surprising is the attentive, friendly service. I was expecting self serve at these prices.

Definitely going to return for more munchies and drinks. Just maybe I will rock out on one of their free air guitars...

    3*?? 4*?? Why can't I give 1/2 stars

    Food: 3*
AYCE Taco Tuesday for $6.99! You have to order a drink (but wouldn't you anyways?) and the tacos (all hard-shell btw) are pretty small with little filling.. but how can you beat that price. My company said they were not bad. Fish taco was kind of bland. But portion is big and I was stuffed. Don't order the poutine. They don't give you enough gravy. But they were only $4.95 so how can I complain?  Yes, they only have 1 deep fryer so beware on $0.15 wings Wed. We learned our lesson. I have to come back to try AYCE pasta Monday.

    Ambiance: 4*
It's a cheesy looking dive bar. I kind of like this place. Oh and they have a couple big screens for the boys.

    Service: 3*

    Value: 4.5*
$4.95. what is everything on their menu.

Maybe my expectations were already low for a place where every menu item is only $4.95...  but I had a really positive experience here.

I ordered the Turkey Club, it was a little thin as far as club sandwiches go but for $4.95 I'm not complaining.  Turkey, bacon, mayo and the bread had cranberries baked in it and was toasted as well.  For an additional $1.55 I upgraded my fries to yam fries, worth it for sure.  They were crispy, not oily and not overdone as yam fries can sometimes be.

My friend had a mushroom swiss burger and had no complaints.  We each had two pints of 1516 lager and my share came to $21 (incl tax and tip) for the sandwich and two pints.

This place was jam packed on a Wednesday night at 9pm.  The staff was all around very friendly.  We didn't have to wait very long at all for our food.  This is a decent, local, non-pretentious, non-franchise hangout bar with cheap-but-quality food.

It's never going to be as awesome as it was when it was "El Furniture Warehouse" and there were barrels filled with peanuts, bras & shoes hanging from the ceiling, rock music blaring and random peanut-fights with tables from across the room.

I've come to terms with that (sort of), and now appreciate The Famous Warehouse for what it is. It went from being a trendy 'dive' bar to a trendy rock bar.. and that's OK.

All food there is 4.95, which is amazing - that means burgers, quesadillas, full meals are 4.95! They have a restaurant license so after 2 drinks you have to buy food, which is why they keep it low. The food is pretty good, the drinks are .. well, they're drinks, and there's still rock music playing (yes, I'll take AC/DC and GunsNRoses over pop music any day of the week).

This is my favourite spot on granville because it's not a trendy club, and it's not an overpriced pretentious bar, it's just a little hole in the wall with a garage door for an entrance, funny barmen, good food, and a great vibe.

But shhh.. don't tell anyone or you'll spoil it.

How can you go wrong when everything on the menu is $4.95. Burgers, wings, onion rings, salads, quesadillas, pasta.  Yup, you guessed it: $4.95. I had a suspicion that they may be gouging a bit on drink prices, but even those are all reasonably priced, with a pint running at about $5-ish.
How do they pull it off? Well, it's their secret, but my theory is that if can cope with a full house every night, and serve unfancy food that pleases, you're in good shape, unless you get greedy and start the price hike.
Sometimes you really don't want fine dining. You just want to have a snack and drink after work, or need a quick and casual place to meet up before a show, and maybe chant a few rock anthems of the 80s. Famous Warehouse is exactly that, and most of the lineup will agree.

Atmosphere: Ghetto College looking pub decorated with random stuff that has no rhyme or reason, however, works well as a collective theme. It looks like an old barn and or dive bar with character. The best part is they're always playing cheesy music that you can't help sing along to or at least laugh at.  This isn't my first visit, I just finally got around to reviewing the place after visiting few times with a few friends.

Service: This place is always busy, therefore, be prepared to stay and relax for a bit over an hour as by the time someone takes your order to the time it comes out of the Kitchen is at least 20 - 30 minutes. The time will pass if you have good company with you and can appreciate the cheesy music videos being played in the background.  We had a good bartender today, however, during the day, when seated, we have had a shitty waitress who seemed to have something up her ass rather than helping us. Be prepared to ask for cutlery and waiting 10 minutes to receive it.

Food: Most things on the menu are $5 and you pay for what you get, however, unlike most cheap places, the meals are actually somewhat decent and beyond passable. They're not high end stellar food, however, much better than the crap served at Boston Pizza. The $5 isn't a special price, it's a daily price.

Price: As mentioned above, very cheap with reasonable normal single serving portions, great for those on a budget and watching the waistline.

I must have passed this place a billion times on my way to the dance studio, but for some reason I missed the big "Everything on the menu is $4.95" sign painted on the brick wall.

As I was walking with my friend to another eating establishment, the Famous Warehouse FINALLY caught my eye. Fate stepped-in and we ditched our earlier eating plans to venture into uncharted skater territory.

The patio caught my eye first; it was pretty chic for a Granville Street patio- especially one that looks like you've just walked into your buddy's garage. This brings me to my first big point: I love the feel of this place; it's super laid back and if I had to describe it to someone, I'd say that it's Sam Malone's "Cheers" with a modern-skater twist.

The bartender welcomed the peeps sitting on the barstools as if they were old pals and everyone who seemed to work there had a great laid back, but not TOO laid back that they would forget about you, 'tude.

At $4.95 a plate, my friend and I ordered 3 items thinking that their servings would be quite small; oh, how wrong you can be when you make an assumption. Their portions are just as large as what you would pay twice the moola for- maybe even more. I think we surprised our wonderful server by polishing-off all three pieces in a rather short chunk of time.

The dishes were flavourful and required no additional dressing, sauce or spice whatsoever.

Did I mention that a rather large burger and some of the best fries I've had in a while, above par chicken parmigiana and the greatest chicken quesadilla were only $15 total?

Checkout: the awesome mural of decks and the big sign that says "Free Air Guitars- Please take one"- now that's some SICK art, my friends.

Recommended dishes: Man, order any two for the price of one, but definitely get the burger and fries.

Score: In your face HST, this place is still affordable.

I had a pretty good time here a couple weeks ago.  It was a weeknight, so perhaps that made a difference, but nonetheless we had great, friendly service and a fun time without spending a fortune.

The $4.95 food is actually not bad, and you get a bit more than I expected for that price.  I wouldn't bother with the nachos again, but my pasta was good, and filling.  We didn't have to wait long at all, either.

I'd never really given this spot any attention before, but for some drinks and cheap eats without the douchebaggary, it fit our needs.

The bathroom was clean but small, and right across from the kitchen which meant you could see the chefs from the sink if the door was open.  Otherwise, it was usable.

I will for sure come back if in the area and needing some food and beers.  Woo!  It's nothing fabulous, but our server was so awesome they get 4 stars because service is important, and the value is right on.

The times that I usually come are for Taco Tuesdays. $7 for all you can eat is pretty good, and the service is pretty fast for those times since it doesnt take long at all to assemble tacos. Any other time i've been, the service has been very slow. Atleast 20 minutes for my food to arrive, one time it was just passed 45minutes.

Since the menu is only $4.95 you can't expect a whole hell of alot.

I had the same experience as the previous reviewer - I must have walked up and down Granville many, many times before even NOTICING this small gem. Actually, I lied, I never noticed it - it was a friend who told me about a place where the entire menu is $4.95!!! WHAT??? I checked it out immediately, and have been back on multiple occasions and loved it every single time!!

There's usually only one or two waitresses to the entire place every time I've been, but it's never been hard to get their attention. They've always been friendly, nice, and despite the difficult customer-server ratio, I've never once had to ask to re-fill my water glass. The food has always been timely, even when I was there on an extremely busy and crowded Friday/Saturday nights.

The Works Burger and Turkey Sandwich are my top two recommendations. Judging by the rest of the customers, I think the burger is probably the most popular plate and rightfully so - juicy and filling! Wings are delicious as well... Rest of the food - such as pasta, tacos, burritos - are good enough considering the price, but the sandwiches/burgers are definitely worth it.

All in all, I love the place! All my friends I've brought have enjoyed it immensely and wonder why can't there be more places like this? It's chill, laid back, plays good music, everyone working there is friendly, sincere and totally unpretentious. Looking forward to my next visit.

My boyfriend and I came from the States to visit for a weekend get away.  While seeing the sites, we decided to stop at the Famous Warehouse to eat, I mean, who could deny the "all meals 4.95" sign, more than competitive with the surrounding eateries.

1.) There was a sign that said "seat yourself" yet there was 10 minute wait.

2.) It took more than 10 minutes for our waiter to recognize we were even there to allow us to order drinks.

3.) We asked for an extra straw, it took 10 more minutes to get that, plus the ice in our cups was almost completely melted by the we received our drinks.

4.) We sat for 30 minutes plus with no meal, or even an update on our meal.  It wasn't until we decided to leave that our waitress told us our food was being plated.

    We left INFURIATED.

Never fall for the cheap prices, you are compromising the SERVICE.

The $4.95 food here is such a great deal, if you're prepared to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait.

Everything here on their menu is $4.95, which is really a nice change from the ever increasing prices at establishments these days. Of course, this is no fancy Donnelly pub, it's just a casual hangout for drinks and cheap food. Wings on Wednesdays are $0.15, provided you order a drink. Burgers, pasta, nachos, basically your typical pub fare here.

Oh, so back to the wait. We sat by the bar, and immediately got some food cause we were really hungry. I got the wings, and my friend got the lasagna. And so we waited for the food. 15 minutes. 30 minutes. By this time we noticed that many patrons were simply just waiting for their food as well. We looked towards the kitchen, barely anything was coming out. We did notice that burgers seemed to be the quickest, as they had brought out about 3 of those, but nothing else. We were really about to leave when our food finally came, after 45 minutes of waiting.

I don't know if it was because of my hunger level, but my wings were not too bad. Not only were they piping hot, but the wings were also of decent size. My friend's lasagna was not too small either, but it was just 'ok'. Can't expect too much for $4.95.

We find out later that apparently they only have one deep fryer, which is why the food took so long?

They close at 2am, so maybe next time it's better to come for a late night bite, and maybe order the burger instead?!

Just returned from a trip to Vancouver with my husband.  We stayed downtown and were looking for an unpretentious bite to eat at lunchtime.  We saw the warehouse from across the street and it looked like a nice casual place where we could relax for a bit.

As I'm sure you've read on other reviews, everything on the menu is $4.95, which is really cheap considering the location.  Really, you could pay just as much to a street vendor for a hot dog.  Anyway, the food was good (not great) and so was the beer (they had a couple of local brews on tap, which is always nice).  As others mentioned it was friendly, yet slow service.  They had free wifi so we took the opportunity to check in at home while avoiding data roaming fees.  It was the middle of the afternoon and it was almost full, so I can see how it would be crowded at night.  All-in-all I thought it was worth going to and would definitely go again.

Hidden among swanky night clubs and dirty hostels, a few friends and I stumbled into this dark little bar on a Monday night with our expectations not reaching beyond a few rounds of Fireball shots.

A few hours later we were old regulars. We sang to the bad 80's big hairband music blasting for the speakers and emulated the videos playing in the televisions. The Warehouse introduced us to Steel Panther and by the chorus repeat we had our own karaoke session. While the price of food was a plus, the low price tags on the brews and liquors being pumped into our systems were the best I had seen in Canada. As far as I am concerned cheap drinks do not exist here - in Vancouver that is.

For now I am uncertain of when I will journey to Vancouver but one thing I know for sure, El Warehouse is on my list of places to visit upon my return to British Columbia.

Food is great!  The value is amazing.  Pilsner beer on a Sunday are only 3.75.  Lots of young folk, loud music, snowboard/surf videos, and very casual atmosphere.  When it was the El Furniture Warehouse, you used to be able to get peanuts and throw them all over the place, but not anymore.  I think they got tired of vacuuming.

For five bucks you have a choice of any burger, salad, quesadilla, fries... the standard bar food menu, and I was pleasantly surprised that the burgers we ordered were quite sizable and the chips were salty and crispy. Favour-wise, don't expect gourmet ground beef for cheap eats. Expect average, decent, filling and your stomach will be well pleased, so will your wallet.

So came here with the wife to kill time before we were going to La Quercia. BTW .... FANTASTIC MEAL at La Quercia.
Was surprised to see a $ 4.95 menu ?!!!?!? Holy, how can you go wrong. Even if it is wrong, how CAN YOU GO WRONG ?? We sat down at the bar and got a few beers on tap, ordered a nachos for 1 and hung out and people watched all the people obviously there for the cheap food.
The service was ok and was surprised to see a couple of guys that were upset at not being able to get a beer in one minute. They left pissed off. WOW .... I didn't know that you expected first class service at a place that serves $ 5 dollar food. Seriously get a grip dude..... your wait at any McDonald's line up would have been longer and did you not notice that the 3 servers were kinda hot !! LOL
The decor was a blend of dirty garage/buddy's basement, but it works. Was fairly clean and didn't feel like I was going to contract any unusual diseases !!
Anyways, the nachos were ok. But did see the burgers and they were HUGE !!! Will be back to try some of the other items and hang out for a beer.
Give it a try !! Place is chill and non-pretentious !!

A sunny thursday afternoon with spring in the air, myself and  friend were searching for a quick bite to eat. Wondered into the warehouse at around 3pm and it was about half full. The music was quiet and a good vibe could be felt through out. Server was great as well. As for the menu everything is 5 bucks and of great value. Honestly my burger was just as good as anything that could be bought at cactus club or earls, minus the douche bags. I have been in here at night and its kind of wilder scene, but for quick bite early in the day, this is my new spot.

This little hole in the wall right next to Caprice is not too bad.Its a very relaxed and non pretentious place. All their food items are $4.95 each and not bad quality. This place gets pretty busy at night and even in the day as you can imagine.Despite how busy they can be service never falters.I always find the bartenders to be funny and entertaining which is good with a beer.Get there early if you want a seat at the bar on a friday/saturday as you may not get a chance.

This place is great if you are looking for a pub meal for only $4.95 plus HST and tip... It's not the best food, but all menu items are $4.95 and come with fries or salad and they don't skimp out on serving sizes even though the price is so low. Here there are no excuses to say you can't afford to eat out! I think they must bank on the drink sales.
