It's no secret that I'm not a fan of dentists. However, after a few years of avoiding them, it was time to finally find one. I scanned yelp for reviews and did google searches for dentists in my neighborhood, but so many dentists try to sell you on the "dental spa" experience. Honestly, I just want a dentist that will clean my teeth and fix any problems they notice. I don't need a massage, or a two hour pre-appointment consult, or a view of the mountains.
My fiance pointed out the Fairview Dental Centre, so I decided to give them a call. The Fairview Dental Centre has a sign that they are always accepting new patients, which is great, especially for people who are new to Vancouver. The receptionist was very friendly, and was able to schedule both my fiance and myself in for an appointment a week later and early in the morning to fit both of our schedules. The dentists that work here are a husband and wife team. The husband, Dr. Raymond Fong, is more specialized with orthodontic work, and since I had braces in my teens I requested to see him.
The dentist office is really clean, with a cozy seating area. The appointment room is very clean as well, and offers a TV on the ceiling for your entertainment. Dr. Raymond Fong is amazing! He did a really thorough examination, took x-rays, and explained everything he saw in the x-ray scan. He also explained why my one tooth was more "opaque" than the others, which no other dentist has taken the time to do. Sandy, the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth, was very gentle with her cleaning and friendly. I've been suffering from terrible allergies, so both Dr. Fong and Sandy let me take breaks to blow my nose during the cleaning, which was very appreciated. The entire appointment took only an hour, which was very pleasant.
Overall, I left the appointment with no cavities and super clean teeth. If you need a dentist, I highly recommend the Fairview Dental Centre. -

I've seen Dr. Fong for almost ten years! He keeps up on new dental technologies, and everyone in his office is incredibly nice and professional. I actually haven't had a cavity since I started seeing him -- I'm not sure that's a coincidence!

I love my dentist. I have been seeing Dr. Raymond Fong for about a year and a half, and him and his whole team is awesome. Very reasonable prices, quick, easy, and doesn't find mysterious and expensive disasters in my mouth. Booked solid, and for good reason. The most amazing thing is the details of my life they remember everytime I see them. They remember my jobs, pet, relationships, holidays...are they taking notes? I only see them once every 6 months, and they remember all this! Amazing.
