Review from Mike P.
I'm pretty sure Fairview Cellars is as good as it gets for wineries. It's not a big luxurious estate winery with a fancy giftshop, hotel and restaurant (try Burrowing Owl if you want all that).
We arrived and the tiny store was packed full of people all of whom seemed to be having a great time.
Bill the owner serves up wine tastings and entertaining stories. This place has a strong word of mouth appeal (the groups before and after us had heard about the winery from friends).
It's a bit hard to find, it's close to the Fairview golf course. Bill has trained some of the best wine makers in the Okanagan his wine is amongst the best you can get.
Since it's a small winery, the batches are limited, so buy now because as the word gets out and the demand goes up over the years so will the prices and the ability to get the type you want.
Tastings are free, and you can try basically everything they are currently selling. While we were there he had us taste an older vintage to show us the effect of storing your wine for a few extra years on the taste. Yum!
My parents mentioned that he sometimes closes up shop to go on vacation, so don't be offended if you get there and can't go in (plenty of other wineries in the area to choose from). I believe you can by Fairview Cellars at Liberty Wine Merchants.
