    Wow!

The most modern hotel I have ever stayed in.

Incredible tech integration, wonderful services and a lobby bar that is unmatched.

I will be back, again and again.

Love this hotel!!! The scent when you walk into the lobby is the nicest and most distinct. The Christmas decoration last year was the best if there was any contest among hotels in Vancouver.

There's something so inviting at The lobby lounge & Patio bar. It's always busy and there are always private parties happening. But my friend and I managed to get seats last night!! They have live bands nightly except Sundays.

We shared desserts, they're actually priced reasonably. But cocktails are very very pricey.

High tech, yet not sterile, like high-tech establishments can be.

It's hard not to give this hotel a "5" - but then it has to be absolutely perfect to get a perfect rating in my books. If I could give it a "4-1/2" ...

I guess the one tiny little factor that kept this hotel from getting a 5 was the fact my my companion, the Divine Ms. K., and I would like to have booked massages at the hotel spa, but as we did not book them before checking in, the only available times were later in the evening, and they were not going to fit into our schedule.

That's because the one night we spent here, was actually the night of Ms. K.'s staff Christmas party, held downstairs that night.

The room - a Deluxe Harbour View room - did have a great view of the north shore and the cruise ship dock at Canada Place. It had just an awesome tub (good bath tubs r-e-a-l-l-y boost a room's rating in my books!) nice and spacious. The entire bathroom was beautiful, as was the rest of the room with its comfy King size bed.

Upon checking in, we ordered some excellent organic nachos from room service to tide us over until supper time.

Although it is not part of a usual stay in the hotel, the dinner we had at Ms. K.'s staff party was excellent, and it was prepared by hotel staff, so that's another tip of the chef's hat to the Fairmont.

The room service breakfast we had the next day just cemented my belief that there is no better hotel chain to stay at in North America than the Fairmont. I've stayed at Fairmonts in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Halifax and Ottawa and have yet to be disappointed.

Too soon, it was time to leave.

This is an amazing hotel with spectacular views of Coal Harbour! The staff is extraordinary! The room is beautiful and peaceful with an amazing bath tub and shower head. It also includes a built in TV in the mirror. Don't feel like walking or taking a cab to Gastown or Granville? They have BMW vehicals that will drop you off and pick you up! I really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel to any of my friends!

Very nice hotel, but the lobby area is so dark.  Gorgeous location with a spectacular view.  A wonderful place to just hang out, have some drinks with friends while sitting next to the fireplace.
Warning:  Bathroom in lobby has mirrors everywhere, so do not be frightened if you turn the corner and see someone that looks just like you.  It's amazing what those mirrors do to your mind, after a few drinks :-D

Luxurious bedrooms rooms, especially bathrooms (marble, TV in mirror, huge bath and shower).
Great desk with lots of plugs and jacks, all in a recessed panel with easy access.
Fancy futuristic room lighting options (all on, spa lighting, etc...)
Great musical talent at the bar during happy hour, talented bar staff. Tasty cafe for breakfast, lunch, and coffee/tea.
There is a complementary driver and a car that will take you to dinner and come pick you up. But it is an easy walk to many places.
Amazing location - go for a run on the bay.

Only negative: Great meeting room, but the ceiling speakers were a bit blown out, so when we ran a video that had some bass, it sounded horrible. Other videos sounded fine

I'm so in love with this hotel - the rooms are gorgeous, comfy and modern. The spa is TO DIE FOR! I always go at least once a month for a one hour RMT massage - you also get full access to the gym and outdoor hot tubs (complete with TVs and infrared sauna)...there are two different lounge-y areas and they provide you with coffee, teas and muffins and fruit. The change rooms are also pretty wicked - theres an 'experience shower' which is a must-do in my books.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim for my sister's high school graduation weekend. The modern interior of the lobby was so sleek and attractive, with the check-in desk to the right and an open-concept bar to the left and further back, separated by a row of plants. Within the bar enclosure sat a stunning white piano that was tickled professionally most of the evenings. The rooms were breathtakingly beautiful, offering (from our rooms) a generous, expansive view of North & West Vancouver. The bathrooms were particularly of the minimalist aesthetic, yet spacious and nicely-lit, which came in handy when my sister was prepping her makeup for her graduation reception. The staff were helpful when I needed to mail a letter in the time I was staying at the hotel, and were always friendly. It was within close proximity to bars and restaurants in the downtown area, which made for a non-stop weekend of activities.

Truly a high-quality experience! Made me feel fancy in an attainable way.

I traveled here last August with my father and sister. The hotel is in a nice location, downtown, and boasts gorgeous views of the water and the convention center is across the street. The restaurant in the hotel was mediocre, though. The room was okay, not what I expected. But it wasn't Motel 6 either. I'm not sure how much the room was because my father footed the bill. But we stayed about 3 days, I believe.

Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. We visited Stanley Park, got fat at a Gelato shop on the way to SP, and watched the cruise ships set sail. The view of the water is amazing! There are so many different restaurants and great shops in this area. Vancouver, in general, is beautiful and clean! I've never seen a downtown area of a city so immaculate.

This review is for the Lobby Lounge bar. Stopped in after a 12K in chilly, windy conditions, ready for a late afternoon lunch.

*** The BEST SALMON BURGER I have ever had, ever. ***

Sound ordinary? Yeah, most of them are, but I swear you have to try it. Chef just put it on the menu last week!  It truly was so tender, flaky, cooked to absolute perfection - and not a second longer - and had an Asian slaw that complemented it like a charm.  Polished off with some Okanagan Valley wine, absolutely heavenly.

Oh, and this particular Fairmont attracts the most conspicuous of athletes, celebrities and wanna be's, so people watching is an extra joy. Apparently UFC is in town!

My girlfriends and I had one of the pool suites last month after the spa visit and it was exactly what we needed.

The suite was enormous.  The living room and dining room was spacious and comfortable.  Both rooms had 1 whole wall of window/doors facing the pool.  There was a fireplace on our patio with a table and deck chairs.  The kitchen is beside the dining room and was equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink and counters. (No stove) The bedroom could have fit 2 king beds in there and there was a small desk in the corner.  This could have fit 4 women no problem, - 2 in the bedroom and the sofa in the living room converted into a sofa-bed.  There were 2 washrooms, both full sized, but the washroom beside the bedroom was enormous.  TV screens built into the mirrors, private toilet, shower and bath.

The pool was accessible from our room and I loved that.  We took a quick dip in the swimming pool and jaccuzzi right before dinner to relax.

Looks like we'll be staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in the summer for another girls night out!

Absolutely top notch. Ever detail, from the light switches to the sink fixtures, not to mention the stunning views, incredible outdoor rooftop pool area, live music in the lobby at nights, and an eclectic playlist during the day that ranges from early jazz to euro-electric. The staff are all professional and extremely nice, and the in-house dining experience is excellent.  We ate at Giovane and the waitress was charming as can be.  A gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous city!

PS By signing up for the President's Club, you get free wifi, and water bottles in your room.  I stayed here for business, so the plate of fine chocolate-dipped fruit and nuts may have been provided by the sponsors an not the hotel, but in any case the presentation was truly impressive.  What a classy place!

This is the newest Fairmont in Vancouver; there are three Fairmonts  within a 5 block radius.  Fairmont sure loves Vancouver.  We've stayed at Hotel Vancouver and it certainly has a different vibe; it has an old world charm with a resident dog and is smack central where there are a bunch of shops and things to do.  We wanted something more tranquil, near the water and Stanley park and Pacific Rim fit the bill.  We got a Harbour - Mountain view room (#1209) and it was a beautiful and peaceful view, morning and night.  It felt very private and we could leave the curtains open.

The room wasn't perfect though, the knobs in the shower fell off and the water would go from really hot to really cold.  I was really surprised to experience this at a Fairmont.  Also, there was a glitch in the lighting, where the undercabinet light in the bathroom wouldn't shut off unless you did some odd sequence of shutting the lights in the bathroom for it to turn off. (We figured it out on a fluke the 2nd night)

As for service, it really ranged from extremely wonderful to extremely awful.
    1. On arrival we drove up to the front 3x looking for an attendant to welcome us/take our car; no one approached us, so I finally got out of the car to look for someone instead of being greeted and taken care of immediately.

    2. The housekeeping team really honour the "do not disturb" sign/light on the door and did not enter our room.  She would see us and inquire to ensure we truly did not need service.

    3.  Valet retrieval was quick, taking no more than 5 - 10 minutes

    4. Cecila, one of the front managers was truly accommodating when I inquired whether there was a room on a higher floor.  She looked through the system and mentioned that there was a room, but that it had a slightly different view.  She called us and met us in the elevator area of our floor and brought us to the room to see if it was acceptable.  I didn't like the view since half of it was now an office building which wasn't as tranquil as our original room, but she really went above and beyond to ensure that it was suitable.

    5. For breakfast at ORU, there was never a host or hostess at the front entrance.  The first time, we waited over 10 minutes and by the time someone came there was a line up of 8 other people.  Service is also hit and miss.  I really enjoyed Nick as our server; he's down to earth, and very personable whereas the day before, the other server was non-existent and never checked in on us.  We had to find him just to get our bill.

    6. When I had issues with service in the lounge, I went to speak to front desk and they immediately located the lounge supervisor and apologized.  The lounge supervisor took the time to hear out my concerns and my praise for two servers, respectively.  He even took care of our bill, which wasn't my intention; I'm a real stickler for service having worked in the service industry myself and like to point out both exemplary and poor service.

So, would I come back?  Not for the next visit; we might try a boutique instead, but it's a worthwhile visit if you've never been.

Brand New Hotel makes you feel like a VIP from the moment you arrive.

Stayed at the Fairmont on my very first trip to Vancouver.  (Never been to Canada before.)

The hotel has that modern chic, boutique hotel feel, yet it's run like a large chain.  You have all the ammenities and services at your disposal.

My absolute favorite part of the hotel rooms are the bathrooms.  Amazing views and just LUXE all the way.

Don't forget to use the hot tub at night and leave the windows open to enjoy an amazing night skyline.

The beds too are top notch and I love the automatic sheers and blackout shades that close/open at the touch of a button.

The buffet for breakfast is a great deal, for some though it could be considered pricey.  It's not Vegas.

Hotel is walking distance to just about most of downtown, if not a short cab ride from wherever you are going.

I have to admit, sometimes when I'm bored or need inspiration for something I either I. Walk II. Eat or III. check myself into a nice hotel I haven't stayed yet. It was overdue to give the Pacific Rim a try so I decided to stay during a sunny day to make use of a few hours around the pool, even though this time of the year is far beyond what I consider swimming environment in Vancouver (off to Kauai!).

I am rarely impressed and I rarely give five stars for accommodation. However this hotel is an exception because everything, really everything was top notch. The staff at the check-in that handles the Presidents Club reservations, a nice room upgrade as a Fairmont Platinum and personal service showing me the room. Remarkable! The view fantastic: Up to North Vancouver over the Inlet on this sunny day. Yes it was a good choice to come. The room: spacious, clean, the bed ultra comfortable. Time to venture out, I have been multiple times to the small shop/cafe downstairs next to the lobby - the pastries are to die for and the home made pizza is definitely worth the calories.

This time I wanted to have a closer look at the facilities where you work all these delicious things off: The gym & the the pool. Both well taken care off, clean with drinking water and towels at your disposal. Nice!

I had breakfast the next morning in the restaurant and the food as well as the service was living up to highest standards. The lobby downstairs is very comfortable, nice to sit at and I would even recommend to go there with friends or a date... just to sit and talk along with a good wine or drink. The bar itself, something with the furniture isn't right. It looks a little bit Ikea. I like Ikea but not in a 5* Hotel like this. Plus some chairs and tables really show usage already. Exchange please! So let's stay in the lounge area until this is accomplished. The fireplace adds the extra charm to it! :)

A few words about the property: It is a luxury Fairmont property with rates usually in the 300s. It is worth it if you want to spend the money and I could name you many properties in town where it is not (reviews pending). The building has ownership Units/Penthouses as well with a separate Entrance discreet on the side.

Check it out for your own joy or those of your visitors!

    Cheers
    -S

We stayed here 3 nights. We booked a deal in fairmont's own web site that was expensive but reasonable when you include the $150 food and bev credit. The place is great with really comfortable beds and marble bathrooms. The lobby is a scene we really enjoyed with live music and excellent drinks/deserts. The cafe downstairs was terrific. We also made use of their free bike rentals to explore Vancouver. I'd highly recommend if the price is right.

Had we paid the regular $500 a night rate, I would have raised a few issues with things that were lacking at that  price point (example: working business center, attention to certain requests, small cleanliness issues).

We just stayed at this hotel for three nights in early November. I have zero complaints and tons of compliments for the staff and their service from check in to check out. This is truly an amazing hotel. Here's a short list of why it deserves a 5 star rating:
    - Excellent service - we arrived late, room was already checked in, my keys were out front and handed to me when I got off the taxi, and someone escorted us upstairs and explained all the little details about the room (definitely very helpful if you are not used to all the electronics). The concierge was extremely helpful as to point out walking directions, best scenic routes, different transportation options, etc.
    - Cleanliness - from the floors to the bathroom to the public areas, this hotel is squeaky clean! The hotel is very modern (which might be very different from other Fairmonts), and the decor and design is very sleek but welcoming. Housekeeping does an amazing job (twice a day) at getting your room ready for the daytime and the evening. Simply amazing
    - Lobby bar - fun place to hang out. They've got a good selection of drinks at a very reasonable price. Live music is pretty much played all throughout the afternoon and until closing at 1 am. This place gets pretty packed so secure your spot early when everyone's out at dinner.
    - Location - it's definitely the best place to stay at if you're in Vancouver for tourism or even for business. We did not rent a car and walked everywhere. Buses and the subway are very convenient and within walking distance. There are also lots of great restaurants nearby (Japanese, seafood, snacks, etc.). The one thing that was probably missing was a supermarket, but there are several drug stores that open late nearby. Oh, and a gelato place downstairs that opens from 8 am to late in the evening (11 pm?)
    - Food - We only had the chance to go to Giovanne (not Oru) for breakfast. They have a fabulous selection of breakfast items. The breakfast sandwich was amazing. I was not a big fan of their coffee and think that they can improve on this, but other than that, I was a happy man by starting my morning off there. I have to try their main restaurant the next time I'm in town.
    - Price - I almost forgot... Yes, I paid 240 CAD / night. It comes with a 25% off breakfast buffet coupon which we didn't use, and internet was included. I'd say this is an amazing rate for what you get, don't you?

Complaints? Well...none really. I have to try their complimentary BMW car service next time too. We just simply ran out of time.

Had the pleasure of staying here for a mini work/staycation this weekend and this is by far the nicest Fairmont in the city (I've stayed at all of them over the years now).

As others have said, the rooms are phenomenal... it is much more modern than the usual Fairmonts.  This means fab features like the a TV built into the bathroom mirror, rain showers, touch lighting throughout (love the spa lighting in the bathroom!), wall-speakers, automatic curtains/blinds, and floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom so I can overlook the water while sitting on the toilet!

The units are very spacious with beds and better coffee (huge puffy heart - Nespresso).  Lovely turn down service too!

Good security where all room floors are by key access only at all hours.

The gym was very good (lots of machines and all have individual TVs on them) and open 24 hours.  The ventilation could be improved (some areas were WAY too hot and others were fine) and it's nice that the mat/yoga area is separate from the machines.

The Fairmont Gold lounge on the 20th floor is lovely as well - nice city views, with the usual access to complimentary food/beverages there.  Aaah, I miss the days that I travelled enough to get complimentary upgrades here :)

Service is top notch throughout from valet to dining to baggage handling.  My complaint is the lobby is WAY too loud at night so it's hard to hear the staff at the front desk upon check-in.

Of course this loveliness does come at a price...  As J.P. S. said, parking is not included in the rate and valet cost me a steep $46 a night - ouch!  Although I do appreciate the water for my drive home :)

I would say that it's comparable to the Shangri-La in town and definitely better than the 4S and the other Fairmonts in town.  If you're here on business, it's directly connected to the Convention Centre and well worth the expense on your expense account :)

    5 star amenities.
I got all this for a 3 star price!

    HOTEL:
    - Ultra modern hotel with gorgeous views of the harbor
    - TV built into the bathroom mirror
    - Mood lightings throughout the room
    - Very comfortable beds.

    LOCATION:
    - Prime location a few blocks from the Waterfront train station. Take the Canada Line from the airport here instead of a taxi. $7.50/person vs. probably $40+ taking a cab.
    - About 5 blocks from the main shopping area on Robson St
    - Very quiet area of town
    - Adjacent to the seawalk trail down to Stanley Park. Nice walk but better off renting bikes because the park is huge!
    - Next to the Convention Center

    SERVICE/AMENITIES:
    - From the door men to the front desk to room cleaners, nothing short of excellence.
    - You can get free waters from the door men and room cleaners
    - Live music in the lobby lounge until midnight

The brand new (built for the winter Olympics), ultra modern Fairmont Pacific Rim is a gem.  It enjoys an ideal location with water and city views, very close to restaurants all around (a short walk to Gas Town), and is immediately across from the new convention center.  You would think a city that already had 3 Fairmont hotels wouldn't benefit from a fourth.... but it does.  The classic grand dame "Fairmont Hotel Vancouver" is lovely and special with old world charm.  The Fairmont Waterfront (two bulidings up the same street as the Pacific Rim) is business efficient.  But the new Pacific Rim has a modern style mixed with classic Fairmont five-star service.

I had a room on the Gold Floor with water views and a small balcony.  I had no trouble with the lighting controls as the bellboy explained them in detail, while also pointing out the other amenities of the room.  There was no check-in.  The doorman noted my name on my luggage tags as I exited the cab, then quickly produced my room keys, and the bellman took me directly there.  Perhaps the hotel had some opening issues, but all of those were seemingly solved since.  If you are in Vancouver and want an ultra-modern 5-star experience, stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim.  You won't be disappointed in the facility (lobby bar is fantastic), the food and especially the service.  You might however, by shocked by the price.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
    1. You smell like heaven. Apparently your scent is a closely guarded secret so alas I shall never get to smell like you. So I'll keep coming in and nose breathing till I get light headed.
    2. Your staff is so friendly and seem genuinely happy to work there. It shows.
    3. Your lobby lounge. I could spend hours and hours just people watching, imbibing your delicious and beautifully prepared cocktails and feeling special and fancy.
    4. Your roof pool. I feel like a celebrity when up there.
    5. Your rooms are so sumptuous and beautifully decorated and I love your bathtubs. Plus you give away Jo Malone bath stuff.
    6. You have concerts in your lobby .
    7. You hire very handsome bartenders for these parties.
    8. For such a beautiful place, you are not snooty. I love that you are anti-snoot yet make guests and curious walk-in's feel special.

In short: if you can afford to treat yourself at any hotel in Vancouver, make it this one. Where else in Vancouver can you lounge on a cabana lined with palm trees and look out at snow capped mountains and the ocean? It's confirmed: I have a hotel crush.

    Oh my gosh!!!!

That was what we said when we walked in!  I love this hotel, I wish I were staying there!  My cousins are all staying there for a vacation and we are staying close by, but from the moment we checked them in it was all wonderful!  The customer service from the staff is impeccably wonderful and they are incredibly helpful and attentive to your needs!

A big thank you to Andres one of the concierge staff who went out of his way to drive us from the other Fairmont, Michael the front desk receptionist who was incredibly helpful in getting a better room for them and Sandy who came in and showed us how the room worked (they are SO hi-tech) who asked us if e wanted anything and when we told him we needed a few things he brought them all up to us for no charge!

Also what else is nifty about this hotel is the fact that they have in the front of the hotel when you enter, a table with fruits, running routes, water, energy bars and towels for runners!  I think they are so awesome for that!

I will definitely be staying here next time!  It's so worth the extra money to be given the greatest service and comfort!

Let's be honest. I couldn't afford to stay here if I wasn't here with work. No way. That being said, here are 5 reasons that if it were legal, I would marry this hotel:

1- I mention that I have to get somewhere in 5 minutes, which turns out to be a 15 minute walk away... they try and get me the company car to take me there. (The car wasn't there, but they effort/thought!)

2- I'm feeling sick? They call up and offer me a cup of tea.

3- They literally RUN across the lobby to open the door for me.

4- Need to print a document NOW? Oh yeah, they do that for me too.

5- Every night they put a fresh bottle of water by my bed, turn down my bed, turn on some jazz music, and fill up my ice bucket.

6- Soaker tub with a TV in the bathroom mirror=ultimate relaxation while watching trashy TV... or food network.

7-Need to get across the street to the convention centre with lots of boxes? They will take you there with their hotel cart.

Oh, yeah, and they don't get mad about me eating messy meals in bed.

(Yes, that's 7 reasons. I tend to get carried away when I'm in love.)

I'm not getting that kind of service from my boy. Just. Saying.

Atmosphere: It was a hotel lobby and it was semi cool.

Service: The service was good. Waitresses that look like real porn stars/models was a real plus. It also helped that they were wearing low cut tops and really tight dresses which provided a substantial eye candy for both my best friend and I. It was funny that she counted the exact silverware as she cleared our table.

Price:  The Carvery was basically a burger with meat slices hand carved, fries and salad. Regular price was $20 each which is very steep for the food, even for the eye candy that came to our table. I obtained a Living Social coupon, therefore, it cost $20 for two according to the coupon. We upgraded to a shared cheesecake for $7.

Food: It was okay, very meh. I had better at Vera's burger to be honest. The cuts were okay, a little too rare for me, therefore, gave  1/2 to my best friend. The salad was really good, very creative with the apple slivers and pineapple in a yogurt based dressing. Fries were advertised as "sea salted", however, there was no salt dusted on them at all, just regular fast food fried fries. I know what sea salt fries are, I am not culinary idiot. Cheesecake was nothing steller, however, it was a good finish none the less.

Sigh... this is simply indulgent. Lobby Lounge, with the grand marbled stoned walls and a 8' ft fireplace.

We started our "feel pretty day" with  Japanese fusion high tea at the lobby lounge. I ordered the Jasmine and my friend the Green Pear Tea.... delicious.

The assortment of goodies were decadent and so pretty, from California rolls wrapped in cucumber to Matcha mouse cake and chocolate macaroons. Don't expect traditional English high tea there would be no cucumber sandwiches and fruit tarts... the closest thing was they served  were scones, everything else was fusion

Service was impeccable and seating was comfortable.

Now....the main reason why Fairmont Lobby Lounge is so busy on a random Thursday afternoon, is the well dressed, nicely groomed and unfairly hot crowd. It is THE place  for people watching. People who were in "business meetings" don't even look at each other, they purposely move their seats to oggle at everyone else.

Great new hotel in Vancouver.  My wife and I were looking for a nice weekend getaway for just the two of us.  We dropped baby with the grandparents and headed down.

We had upgrade to the Gold rooms,  which were fantastic.  All the hotel staff were exceptional, from door man to cleaning staff.  All very professional and eager to assist with whatever you might need.

The lounge is special, and even though we obviously did not belong to any "elite" gold club, we were treated just as well as everybody else.

Great place, will definitely try to make it out here again.

The Fairmont Pacific Rim is beautiful and the people working here are some of the best in the hospitality industry.

We really enjoyed spending time here during the Olympics.  The staff were very helpful with our daughter even when it was crazy busy.  Michael at the front desk managed to find some crayons and he printed some pages for coloring. That was wonderful since it kept our daughter busy for hours while we drank sake and enjoyed the Olympics on the big TV.  Having a sushi bar in the lobby is a big plus.  Everything was so good and top notch.

One of my favorite perks is the location.  It is nice being right on the water and when you walk out the front door you have a direct view of the Olympic Cauldron across the street.  It does not get any better than that! I posted a picture so you can see the view too.

5 stars for the entire experience ... and we feel lucky to have been here during Vancouver's time to shine.  USA loves Canada!

I went to the Nikkei Heritage Center fundraiser tonight at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. The guest speaker was David Suzuki and it was a thrill to hear him speak live.

As for the venue, the hotel is beautiful and the service was top notch but the food was a little below what you would expect, even for a banquet.

Dinner started off with a refreshing salad and there was a nice selection of breads offered all night.  Then chef came out to introduce our dinner which was a sablefish dish served with a mushroom medley on white rice. The fish was decent, the mushrooms outstanding but my serving of rice was both burned and mushy. Not acceptable.  I wasn't a fan of the chocolate mousse dessert but judging from the lack of leftovers on my table, it was a success.

After the event, I walked through the lobby and lounge area where this great duo was doing a fun cover of Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall.". I wish I stayed for drinks and had the chance to relax. I guess I'll have to come back.

This brand new Fairmont lives up to what we come to expect from this beautiful elegant international hotel & resort chain. The location is so perfect to enjoy the views of Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains, set across the street from the new convention centre.

The main lobby offers grand yet intimate setting with a giant floor fireplace, leather chairs and long couches, looking out towards the Burrard Inlet. At the end of the lobby sits a marble lounge bar for drinks and dining. Not to forget sitting in the middle, the very famous Fazioli ivory white grand piano brought in from Italy, cant wait to hear..

Off the side of the lobby there lies a italian cafe, bakery, deli called "Giovane" the smell of daily fresh baked goods fills the room that sits street side.

Its always such a treat to experience a new local landmark for the very first time; "Fairmont Pacific Rim"  welcome to Vancouver...  I hope you get the same enjoyment  as I did...

This was a very nice hotel to stay at! I would recommend it to anyone that can afford it. The bathroom was wonderful and room layout seemed open even with little space.

There were only a few down sides. One was that for as pricey as it is, parking is not included. Also, while all the touch panel buttons in the rooms do neat things like open motorized blinds and control dimming lights, figuring out how to use them and getting the controls to work right (I swear the buttons for the bathroom blinds were reversed) was quite a hassle and not clear at all. Also, they could use some better TV channels as well. We just wanted to relax and watch a movie without needing to buy one from their fancy on-demand system.

These should not detract from the niceness of the hotel though, but are what could have made this a 5 star.

Great modern hotel on Vancouver's waterfront. Staff is extremely helpful, live music in the late afternoons and evenings is a plus, and the attached restaurant and cafe are actually good!  Just be prepared to pay through the nose for it and you'll do fine.

For what the developers have done with this SMALL piece of property, the FAIRMONT PACIFIC RIM is an amazing Hotel/residence. The entrance is nicely planned out so there is plenty of space to park. Yes, their fleet of luxury cars gives the hotel a really nice feel... hmmm I really thought I have seen Lexus? but people say BMW...

The service is definitely top notch, their people are definitely service oriented, from doorman, to concierge, to front desk staff. - at the front desk look for a guy named Dale, really cool.

What makes the Hotel service truly exceptional really is their friendly PEOPLE. Even if you live in town and/or you can't afford to/or want to pay their prices... drop in to their seldom used lounge, order a drink and chat away w a close friend.

They do keep the foyer all neat n nice smelling, works for me not sure if it would appeal to everyone.

This is a truly 5 stars hotel, located across the street from the old and the new convention center by the water front, I was there when the hotel first opened during the winter Olympic 2010 in Feb, hotel lobby is huge, soonest you walked in, you will feel very comfortable, warm fire place, sit down couches and chairs. I stayed at the Deluxe King Guestroom Harbour View room, the room is very modern, everything remote control, including the window curtains, they're window surrounded in my bedroom with a 40" flat screen tv, the bathroom is something to brag about, my bathroom has a stand up shower and also a jacuzzi, bathroom surrounding by glass window from top to the floor, and in the day time, I will see a beautiful view of the harbour and the mountain, and at night time the glass will turn to reflation from outside, even though you're naked in the bathroom, people from the next building will not able to see in, and if you don't feel comfortable, you can also set the curtains down as well, and don't forget the shower, is not just any stand up shower, is one of those high pressure shower, all I'm going to say once you stay here, you don't want to stay any where else in Vancouver during your visit.
At night they will have people playing music or signing in the lobby, even though they're playing music or signing, you will never hear anything upstairs in your room, because the high ceilings, now about the location, which is located walking distance every where you like to go in downtown area, for a New Yorker, the walking distance to Robson street (which is the main street of everything where all the shopping and restaurants at) is not a problem for me, but for people that living in a town that don't do much walking, you can take a taxi cap, maybe 5 minutes and you will be in the central of downtown of Vancouver, also if you take a cap, is approx 45 minutes ride from Vancouver airport to this hotel, because the airport is located in Richmond, not in Vancouver

The latest and great hotel in Vancouver.  I've been at all 3 Fairmont hotels in Vancouver, and the Pacific Rim is by far the nicest at a great value.  Hotel Vancouver has old world charm, but Waterfront is just plain old.

It is most convenient if you are at the Vancouver Convention Center.  They are connected through an underground tunnel, so you never have to go outside in the cold and rain.  The Waterfront station even has an access just across the street.

Staff and service at all Fairmonts in Vancouver are top rate, but the amenities and style is what separates Pacific Rim from the rest.

Unfortunately, I cannot give 5-stars because I did have some problems with my room that a hotel of this calibur should not have.  (Burned out light bulb, broken soap dish, and rip in a bath towel.)  These simple items should be identified by housekeeping and addressed immediately by facility engineers.

The modern style and technology might be frustrating for some people, but I love it.

I am definitely looking forward to staying here again on my next visit back to Vancouver.

How can a hotel look so modern, yet so comfy? I am in love...WITH A HOTEL...let me count the ways:

    1) Willow Spa is awesome.  Perfect place to relax if it's a sunny day

    2) Regular rooms are spacious to say the least. The bathroom was huge! Equipped with both shower and soaker tub and of course the toilet.

    3) Very modern feel. When you enter in the room for the first time, you are welcomed with lights, TV and sound system that is turned on automatically.  All shades are mechanically controlled.

    4) Staff are very knowledgeable and polite.

    5) The Lounge have delicious food and have great live performances.

FYI, pool opens from 7am to 10pm.  There's a bar by the pool, but it was not open at the time we were there.

Say what? No review of this fantastic and fine a$$ hotel right there where all of the action is at? Reserved this trip through AAA and got a rate for 229 a night on the 7th floor. I took my teen on a getaway as he was convinced that he needs to be a rock start to stay at such a lovely hotel.
Greeted by a gentleman by the name of Sandy. He was very sweet and helped to diffuse my temper from my mistake of going to the wrong hotels twice. He walked us over the escalator as the hotel was very busy with wedding. I noticed that the other front desk staff also do this on not so busy days too. The room is hotel modern. The light switches and drapes controls were all with a pad. While ultra modern, it was often difficult to determine which button to push while in the dark. Decor was class and the layout of the room spacious. I really appreciated how quiet our room was with minimal street noise on the 7th floor. Also appreciated was the lovely wine glasses (Schott Zwiesel)and expresso maker and the iPod clock with auxillary cable.  Just love having a place to place my music and charge the phone. Internet was about 15 bucks a day but they didn't charge extra for two connection on separate laptops.  Great big bathtub with some nice bath salts given too!
FOOD/MUSIC: On a Saturday we had drinks at the bar downstairs. The had classic cocktails with original variations. While your standard priciness of 17 a glass, it was worth it with the live music playing on Saturday and Sunday (from Jazz, to acoustic guitar, to a trio). The wait staff friendly with the exception of one server (starts with the letter E) who sort of threw down our order from the Raw Bar.
We didn't dine there but took the recommendations of the concierge. They too were very hospital.
    LOCATION AND TRANSPORTATION:
First things first, note where you park at there is another Fairmont hotel near Canada place. We parked there instead and then walked to a hotel by the name of the Pacific....DER! So after a tiny walk we found the right hotel and were near quickly given A+. Keep in mind parking in this area is about 40 bucks a night which is an ouch! Also keep in mind is that this location in right near Canada Place so it is easy to catch your cruise ship or take a bus or catch the Sky Rail. Also keep in mind is that if you come out of the hotel (not towards the water but street side by their coffee shop) you can walk a few blocks to the Gaslight District which is a 'hot spot' with a younger crowd. Also keep in mind is to avoid Hastings Street up a couple of blocks because it is literally the skid row of Vancouver. We had a drink and dinner in they neighbor on night one. The next day we walked to Granville Island which was too long by my son's standards. While it was worth the visit it is a walk and you want to have comfy shoes on as you cross over the long bridge. Ok so back to the hotel and the coffee shop and go to your right and then turn right at the next block there is a lovely walk along the water way over to Stanley Park. There are also nice restaurants along the way to park but hey, why not rent a bike and go for a ride as there is a bike rental station right there 1/2 block away from the Fairmont.
A great stay with exceptional customer service. I would highly recommend this hotel!

This was hands down the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.  The materials, level of finish and attention to detail were impecable throughout the hotel.  Whomever is responsible for the design and construction of this building should be seriously proud of their efforts.

So why the 4 stars?  I just wasn't thrilled with the service.  It always seemed a little off kilter and not smooth enough.  For a five star hotel I should never worry about "where is that robe I called for?"

Tip:  I came for a bachelor party and a suite overlooking the pool is a great bet!  You can fit 4 comfortably and the whole pool area overlooking the green roof of the conference center beyond is a great space.  Unfortunately, the pool bar doesn't serve mixed drinks, but with your room so close it's no big deal right!
