My first visit to Facelogic Spa was when I had purchased a Groupon for a facial, hydrating mask and brow wax.
I had originally made an appointment on a Friday, but had to reschedule to Saturday morning. Since I did I was their first appointment of the day.
When I first entered the spa, the receptionist had me fill out an info "health" form and they have a big couch in the center of the room where patrons can sit to fill out the forms. Afterwards the lady, Elane, who will be doing my facial, etc. took me to the change room and asked me to change into a tube top. Then she took me into a large, dark room where soft music was playing and there were approximately 8 beds were set up with curtains in between separating each bed for privacy.
Elane then had me lay down as she explained each step of each procedure and what it was going to help with and how it will help my acne-prone skin. She also whispered questions to me as we went along. All three procedures took about 90 mins and the experience was amazing!
I've previously only had a facial before at Spasation where I was in a small, private room so having a facial done in a shared room came as a surprise to me, but not a deal breaker since everyone whispers in the room. If I could change one thing, I would recommend the staff ask all the "skin" questions first before entering the room so I don't feel like I'm whispering too loud in a quiet room. Then the staff can whisper to me what they'll be doing as they do the procedure vs. having both me and the therapist talking back and forth.
What really impressed me was when Elane asked me what my current skincare routine was and when I told her what it was and that I had just recently refilled my stash of it, she recommended a brand that the spa sold, but just told me to keep it in mind once I'm done my current skincare line and if I would like to try something new. She wasn't pushy with the sales and was actually there to just inform which I appreciated. She also took the time to answer all of my questions afterwards.
Facelogic have a membership fee where I think about $70/month will cover the facial once a month and then 10% off additional spa services/pay the membership price for services. I will have to look into becoming a member, since facials can become an expensive monthly expense.
They are located off Manning Drive in a strip mall in the Clareview area so the outside appearance isn't the most "elegant" compared to say a spa located inside a shopping centre, but the inside is completely clean and well-lit.
I haven't had a chance to visit them again, but once I find time in my schedule, I will definitely be back! -

I found out about Facelogic Spa when I purchased a Living Social deal for a signature facial. I had no problem booking an appointment for the time I wanted, which was late afternoon. This was about 2 weeks after I bought the voucher, so very reasonable in my opinion. This place is at Manning Crossing (a strip mall type of deal), so parking is plenty and free. It is also easy to get here via transit. Hours are Monday to Friday from 10 to 8. They are also open on Saturday, but offhand, I don't recall the hours.
Upon walking in, I was greeted by Kim in a friendly and perky manner, which is always a great first impression. The foyer/waiting area is immaculately clean and bright, with their products displayed. There is an interesting roundish couch for you to sit on while you wait or fill out their health form, if it was your first visit, which for me it was. There is a place right inside the front door for you to remove your shoes.
Kim was also the one to do my facial, and after leading me to a stall-like cubicle to change into a white tube top, she took me into a large, dimmed room where music was playing. There were approximately 8 beds that were set up with curtains in between them. At first, I was taken aback as I have always in the past had facials done in a private room. However, there was only one other customer there, and they both spoke so low that I couldn't actually hear their conversation, which was great and assured me I also had privacy as I discussed my skin regiment/issues with Kim. Also, once you are leaned back in the super comfy chair, you can see nothing but the ceiling. The chair is the most comfy chair I have ever, ever been in.
Kim asked a few questions, like how much water do I drink, what products I currently use, etc. She thoroughly explained what was going to happen throughout the facial. At no time was I pushed into buying products, which was very nice and frankly a relief. I loved that my hands, arms, neck, and shoulders were massaged during the facial. It was so relaxing and just felt so good. She was sure to ask if the pressure was okay, which it was from start to finish.
The only thing I don't like is that their website does not show the prices for any of their services, so my only recommendation is that they do list the prices for all of their services. For my signature facial via Living Social, I paid $39, and I forgot to ask how much it is regularly. (Taken from their website: A signature facial begins with a thorough skin analysis followed by a deep cleansing, exfoliation, steam, extractions (if requested) and mask. Therapeutic massage is incorporated into the treatment).
If the prices are right, I would return. -

I posted this review on my personal blog, but thought I should share it for others to see before they sign up for a similar (not so great) experience!
The original Groupon deal was $49 for Skincare Package with 50-Minute Signature Facial and Microdermabrasion. When I got there, I learned I had to upgrade to their "Eminence" version, because my skin happens to be sensitive. Okay, another $20 (technically $21, because she charged tax on it. Actually, if I didn't even mention the upgrade, I wouldn't have had to pay. Sadly I'm an honest person)... I found this out AFTER waiting 10 minutes after my scheduled time, after I was brought in and told to change into a towel thing, as the girl was prepping me for the microdermabrasion. Understandably, there was one girl working the "spa side" and had been doing so for what looked like a while. There was one receptionist who did a fine job at making me feel awkward when I got in, and was waiting my turn. Really, really awkward. Like I wasn't supposed to be there.
Customer service wasn't exactly meeting expectations and neither were the results... resulting in me giving the stingiest tip of my life (okay, never mind that. I've done worse in high school when I gave a dollar and twenty six cents). The results, for the record, was softer skin (yay? But I can do that with my seaweed and chickpea mask, which also does pore tightening and gunk removal) and SOME extraction. Either I do not understand what extraction means in Canada or the lady wasn't doing it right. In HK, the facial involved pushing every bit of gunk in my skin out (painful but effective). My skin is currently just soft, with lots of gunk still in it. Gunk being several pimples under the skin, with whiteheads and blackheads still all over my forehead and nose. If I squeeze my nose gently, a lot of gunk comes out of the skin. The softness was a result of the microdermabrasion treatment - NOT THEIR PRODUCTS. Microdermabrasion helped soften up my skin and she was able to remove some of the darkened skin on the sides of my temple (not much at all btw). Throughout the entire process, not much explanation was given about what was going on unless I kept asking. I thought they were supposed to inform the person what was happening! Especially since I specifically told them it was my FIRST TIME THERE, and I wanted to know what was going on! The entire experience (except the microdermabrasion, which did kind of what it was supposed to do) was disappointing!
To clarify, I am not a stingy person when it comes to tips. If I'm impressed, I go more than 20% (on top of the GST!). This was just THAT horrible an experience. It's safe to say I'm not going back. Ever. I'll look for another place. -

I have been a member of Facelogic since they opened a number of years ago. Membership means member pricing and regular monthly facials.
The atmosphere is very serene and relaxing.
I go monthly for facials but have also had massage, waxing, microdermabraision, peels and a body scrub and all services were great.
At the beginning they really tried to push their products but have stopped doing that and I don't feel as awkward at the end of my treatments now having to say "no thanks".
They used to have a real problem with staff turnover which meant appointments would be cancelled or it was very difficult to get an appointment due to staff shortages but that seems to have improved.
I look forward to my facial every month.
