My last two pairs of glasses were purchased here.
I am very picky about my glasses and need a thinner lens because my prescription is quite high for one eye.
The prices here are average for the area, and I have seen more expensive around town.
The sales people are always helpful and stick by me while I try on several pairs, giving me advice.
With my last pair of glasses, I found the frames at another store in Metrotown, but I liked the service at Eyestar and told them upfront that I found them cheaper elsewhere. They offered me the cheaper price plus another 10% off!
It takes only a couple of days for the glasses to be ready and they spent time making sure they were straight, comfortable, etc. and gave me a cleaning package too.
Whenever my glasses begin feeling loose through time or are super dirty, I just drop in and they fix them up -- no problem and no questions! -

After the renovations this place has turned into a giant well lit oasis of eyewear selection.
The staffers here are pretty no-nonsense and it works out for the better. They'll let you know if they think a certain type of frame just won't work for your face.
The selection is vast which makes shopping a pleasure as you don't have to keep going to various locations, yet at the same time difficult due to the volume of choice.
Prices are pretty decent here, especially if there happens to be sale going on. -

I've purchased my last 2 pairs of prescription lens and frames from Eyestar and was the first place I went to shop for my latest pair.
They recently added eye exams for $75. The optometrist was friendly and professional. However I did not get a prescription for contact lenses and he said to talk to the contact sales lady out front.
I spent two days at Eyestar trying on frames and I found their customer service has dropped dramatically from my past experiences. None of the staff stuck with me for more than 10mins. I can understand if they need to help other customers, but please come back to check up on me. I was absolutely dead set on buying from the store but I just felt like they gave up on me.
On top of that, talking to the contact lens sales lady was a huge hassle. She would not give me my the info I needed unless I bought lenses from her. She offered to match online prices, but that too was also a hassle because she kept trying to say things like "but is this in US or Canadian currency", "but is this with shipping".. blah blah blah.
So I left Eyestar and I doubt I'll ever go back. Funny thing is, I ended up buying a Gucci frame I saw at Eyestar at another store in Metrotown, from a much friendlier staff.
