Sometimes when I visit asian run eyeglass places, I always think I am getting ripped off or getting a fake pair of designer glasses. In addition, they always try to pressure you into trying a pair of specs and more often than not, they are not what you are looking for or they don't fit properly. The prices on them are usually marked a few hundred dollars more than what you expect to pay and that's so it makes it seem like you're getting a steal. I don't know why they do this but they do so be warned.

Anyhow, I visited this place regardless of all my hesitations because of the reviews and I am so glad I did because I haven't had this great of service at an optical place before, especially in Richmond. I have a larger framed face and so it's quite a challenge to find glasses that fit. The gentleman working there... I cannot remember his name... knew exactly what I was looking for and picked out at least 10 pairs that I could see myself wearing... Best yet, all the pairs he picked fit pretty well. He even offered to show me some that he thought may work nicely that didn't fit my description of specs I usually go for and surprisingly, I left purchased one of those pairs. There was no pressure.

The store stocks most major brands like Chanel, Gucci, Prada, D&G, Tom Ford, Burberry, etc and what I also liked was they stocked cheaper Japanese thick plastic frames that he quoted at less than $150/pair with lenses! These are kept behind the counter but on display below the sunglasses. I will have to keep those in mind for any cheap backups I may need.

Their stock is current and up to date in trend and the best part yet, the prices are incredibly reasonable. You're looking at around $275-350(max, but of course it can go higher to 400) for a pair including lenses. Go to another place such as Lenscrafters and you are looking at that price alone for the frames!

In short, if you are after some designer lenses, visit this place. Even if they don't have what you are after in stock and you know the style number, it doesn't hurt to inquire.

A few years ago a friend of mine showed up wearing the same Chanel frames as me - I had paid $595 for mine, hers were about half that. I asked if she'd perhaps gotten ripped off at the nightmarket; she handed me a business card to this place.

Eye Gallery stocks every major brand name you can think of - Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Marc Jacobs, D&G, Giorgio Armani, and some of the lightest Japanese frames I've ever tried on. If they don't have it in stock, just provide them with the style number and most of the time they can order it in for you.

Expect to pay between 20-40% below retail - depending on brand, style, and stock (they rarely carry anything more than one season ago).Their contact lens prices are competitive, even against online retailers like Clearly Contacts.

For those concerned about authenticity - worry not! I've now bought several pairs of Chanel & Prada frames from them, and when I had to get a few crystals replaced on the Chanels they were completely covered by manufacturer warranty.

I usually deal with Billy, but really the entire team there is pretty fab. For an asian run place as busy as Eye Gallery to maintain such a high level of customer service over the years is something that really needs to be commended.

I bought all my glasses fr this place since 2000, the owner Billy and his staffs are very friendly and professional.

They have a lot of designer brands and trendy glasses.  They probably can pre-order the specific brand or frame for you.

I got sun glasses fr them few months ago. I really love it - Dark purple BIG sunglasses fr Marc Jacobs.

The price on tag is very expensive, but, they usually give you at least 20-30% off.  No need to freak out!!
