My girlfriend is a huge fan of Everybody's Hair she has been asking to come and check it out

No colouring for me just a great new haircut with a new style. I am very happy with it.

There were other regular customers in the store and it was a great atmosphere.

the two best stylist/technicians have left.  I've followed one of them - she works from her home in the Ajax area now.

    I'm not heading back again.

Disclaimer: I had one miserable experience at this "salon"  about 4 years ago, and I was so disgusted I've never been back. It was a deshelved, sloppy place then (I don't know if it's been re-decorated since then).

I normally wouldn't bother commenting on something so long after the fact, but a previous post mentioned that they fixed her color for free, and that was certainly not my experience.

The employee who was supposed to colour and cut my hair seemed like a bit of a nutjob, but they were around the corner from where I lived at the time and I was in a rush to go away for the weekend so I couldn't be that picky.  I wasn't asking for anything particularly complicated or difficult, only to have my hair coloured to a more mahogany/chocolate brown (it is naturally auburn) and to have a simple trim (my hair was very long at the time), and I figured she could handle that.    I need to stress that I was very specific about the colour, and showed the one that I wanted from their own colour board.

While I was having my hair coloured, the employee (I don't want to call her a stylist, because I think that's a little over-reaching) got a little too personal with me, asking me about piercings I had at the time, if I was seeing anyone, telling me about some guy friend of hers who was single etc.  We are not friends, I have never met you, so just like, do the job, y'know?  After the colouring had been on my hair for the required length of time, it was obvious that it was black, not what I wanted.  Of course the colour can appear darker at first/when the hair is wet, but this was far byond what I asked for.  I was diplomatic at first, but the employee got very flustered and stammered while fumbled around with some bottles.   I explained that it was darker than I wanted, and she literally attempted to drag me outside the shop (wet hair and smock on & all) to show that it was not as dark as it looked. Ridiculous.  I was still hopeful the colour would look more akin to what I wanted when it was dry.

She was about halfway done blow drying my hair, then asked me to bend over while sitting in the chair with my head by my knees to finish the blow dry.  Umm.. no.

Once my hair was dry it was obvious that it was much darker than I asked for, and I again explained I was unhappy, thinking it would be simple to fix.  Wrong!  The employee enlisted two girls in the shop to give their opinions (not sure if they were customers or employees) and they concurred it was black.  The employee seemed flustered by that. She was fumbling around so  much I decided if she couldn't even colour it/offer to fix it, I didn't want her cutting my hair.  I tried to be polite because she seemed to be a little off, but finally I just had to say I wasn't happy and it wasn't what I wanted and her response was "Well, you still have to pay". Very unprofessional, and I was suprised there was no offer to correct the problem.  I work in sales for a large company and if any of my employees ever dealt with one of our customers in the manner that this woman dealt with me, the impact on their job would be dire.

I paid the full price for the colouring, went across the street to another shop, explained the situation at this dump to the lovely stylist and she nodded her head (maybe she's fixed a mistake of theirs before?) Anyway, she lifted the colour (I don't know if that's the technical term) and when she was finished, my hair was exactly the colour I wanted.
