Wow...Evelyn's is clearly a popular spot in Banff! While walking around the main street area, we spotted four! Dang.

This spot is quite little but it has a few tables and lots of yummy looking food. The barista was very sweet and quite quick - I always feel bad for baristas working by themselves as that's a lot of work and a lot of pressure if there's a line, but she was great.

I had a hot chocolate and opted to include whipped cream - so glad I did! They have chocolate whipped cream, and it's REAL whipped cream (not that Redi-Whip or whatever). Mmm, with chocolate shavings on top...very decadent and delicious.

I popped in here while taking a walk on a chilly day through Banff. It was quick, the staff were sweet, the latte was fantastic. The space is quite small and cramped but seeing as we took our beverages to go it wasn't a big deal.

I would definitely come back next time I'm craving coffee during a while down Banff Ave!

I stumbled across Evelyn's Coffee Bar while hunting for a perfect moonstone ring. I wasn't sure if it was a chain, or a single independent shop, but I decided to try it anyway.

As usual, I got my soy latte as well as as a chicken pot pie. The latte was pretty good, but I was unimpressed with the chicken pot pie. I was expecting ooey gooey flakey goodness, but I got dry chicken sans ooey gooey goodness. And what the heck?! I spent $7 for it! No one should pay $7 for chicken pot pie unless it's gourmet. It made me even more disappointed to see a SECOND Evelyn's Coffee Bar half a block down on the same street.

Next time I'm in Banff, I would definitely skip this and try something else. Not worth it.

Thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast here every morning!  Hot chocolate and one of the best breakfast panini-s I've ever had!!

Seems like there were several of "Evelyn's" all along the same side of the street in the town of Banff... and the street wasn't even that long... interesting

I remember this was the place recommended to go to like 7 years ago when I first went to Banff... now, while it's ok, I would still try and recommend something different if possible...

What put me off is that there are 3 locations in Banff, 2 of them within 1 block, so, not so unique coffee shop anymore, and I agree staff is quite indifferent, like they don't enjoy working there or something...

One of the best Hot Chocolates anywhere is in Banff, Canada. If I could show you a picture, I would. They use chocolate flavored whip cream, and it's very whippy. Update: I added a picture, the fourth one, of the whole cup and cream on top.

We were in Banff for the weekend so we stopped in at Evelyn's after seeing it on Yelp.  The latte was okay, but the staff was fairly indifferent which put me off.  We went to the Starbucks down the street later that day and the coffee was just as good there; the difference was that the Starbucks barista had some personality, so I would recommend that Starbucks over Evelyn's.

A good selection of coffee, and I really liked the spices in the chewy oatmeal cranberry cookies, but the other cookies were really crumbly and the 7-dollar breakfast wrap consisted of egg salad, cold bacon, a few cubes of tomato, and mayo.

Hot chocolate was drinkable. Toffee cookie was good. Service was poor and grumpy.  Not a bad pit stop if you're tired of looking at trinkets, knick-knacks and other tourist kitsch on Banff Ave.

The smoked salmon sandwiches were excellent (though the bagels could have been better), and the coffee was strong and tasty.  And it's local, not an international chain!

Evelyn's worked for us in a pinch - a place to grab coffee and a bite while on our way to the tourist stuff. Wild Flour was much more enjoyable and a better place to hang out to eat. Evelyn's coffee was average and we didn't try the cookies (of which the variety appeared expansive) but we actually did like the  $7 egg salad breakfast wrap as it was surprisingly tasty and so convenient to eat while standing in the Banff gondola line.

I'm quite unhappy with the food I purchased here.  The muffin was stale and I got food poisoning from their veggie sandwich roll.  I would not recommend food from this place.
