I have popped in a few times over the past few years when looking for fabrics, inspirations, or just a place to get out of the cold but had not yet bought anything.  Until today!!  The decorating challenge continues...

Stepping back in time a bit, I've had mixed experiences here with the service I've received while just looking.  At times, the designers/sales people have approached me, asking if I needed any help with anything; at times, they've clearly been too busy, and I was clearly just poking around; and, at times, they've seemingly completely ignored me whilst conversing amongst themselves.  Today, I was clearly looking with intent: I was eye-ing fabric swatches two or three times over, whipping out my trusty paint chips, and generally wore a look of total confusion on my face (I'm a nurse, not a designer!); sadly, no one approached me.  That said, it was a busy mid-Saturday afternoon and all the designers looked rather busy.  Finally, I wandered myself up to the register, waited a bit for the woman to finish up with her last client, and then asked for some help.  My designer/sales person, Patricia, was only too happy to help me.  She listened to what I was interested, I drew her a picture (as I said, I'm not a designer; I don't quite know how to explain these things!), she showed me some swatches and compared them to the paint chips, double checked prices, explained the different hems and finishes, and explained ways to decrease the price while still attaining the look I wanted.  Within 30 minutes, I had an order for custom draperies that were within budget and exactly what I wanted!  She was also so very personable and seemed to genuinely want to see the finished product once they are hanging in my bedroom; that's an extra lovely touch.

Stepping away from the service for a moment, the product available is both extensive and of excellent quality.  While the colour fabric I wanted was not presently in stock, Patricia scoured one of the fabric books for just the right colour, ensuring me that she would be able to order something in that would be precisely what I wanted.  They carry silks, sheers, cottons, linens, suedes, upholstery, as well as blinds, shades and some light fixtures.  The store, for having a gigantic inventory of both fabrics and swatch books, is also very well laid out, suiting both style and organization.  It made finding what I was looking for that much easier.  Also, the prices seem reasonable for what it is; quality fabric and custom draperies.  Yes, it's expensive; you may just have to get over it.  That said, there are ways to help cut some costs, and Patricia (at least) was understanding and helpful in that respect for me.

Overall, I had an excellent experience shopping at Eurofab and, for the most part, excellent experiences browsing.  I'm with-holding that final star (really, half-star, as I would classify this a 4.5/5 more than anything), there have been those times when I've been ignored; it would be nice to at least be acknowledged, even if I were clearly just browsing.

I haven't actually used any of their services but it is a pretty nice store. They always have excellent window displays to lure you in. The store is clean and well organized and the staff are ready and willing to help you with whatever you're looking for.

When I first walked into the store, I was impressed by the quality and beauty of the products, and so had no hesitation about bringing my business to Eurofab.  That's where the good experience ended and a spectacular series of bad ones began.  I won't go into the gory details, but suffice it to say that the staff were unprofessional about following through in a timely fashion and thinking ahead about potential snags.  Most of the time, folks were pleasant but one staffer in particular was surly and bossy.  I will definitely be finding a new store for my decorating purchases in the future.
