Back when I worked in yaletown, this was one of my favorite lunch spots. A delightful departure from the more polished yaletown norm, this quaint, unpretentious spot offers solid, delicious sandwiches, and hearty, warming soups.
The breads, vegetables, and meats used are of great quality- but what really stands out is their schnitzel- which comes in pork, chicken, or vegetarian options. I'd not tried schnitzel prior to dining here, and have yet to find anything matching it's quality since. The breading is always perfectly crispy, and the filling never possessing the oiliness too common elsewhere.
If you find yourself seeking lunch nourishment in the area and are looking for a pleasant, simple spot, I highly recommend it. -

I've been visiting this place for years! I always order the Euro Schnitzel on Marble Rye. The ingredients are fresh and the schnitzel's are perfect. The staff is friendly too.
If I were to offer any suggestions to the owner it would be to clean up the decor a bit. Upgrade the furniture and the surfaces as they look quite old and dirty. Not the kind of thing you want at a restaurant. -

I love this place! If i could eat schnitzel all day long, i would! Well, since i work so close to here, I at least go once or twice a week. Yes, it is run by chinese people, but like Steff c. says, "they're doing his memory proud!" I only wish i had gone here when it was run by Zoran!
Haven't tried the Veal, but the chicken is wickedly good. For under ten bucks you can have a huge chicken schnitzel, tucked between two pieces of bread, cucumbers, onions, tomato, mustard, hot peppers, lettuce, mayo, all the fixins! You can have the cordon bleu schnitzel, which has ham or the other, with bacon. -

Since my esteemed colleagues don't realize it, this place was originally called "Zoran's Euro Pastry House."
Zoran was an awesome Croatian man. He made amazing sandwiches, and while they're doing his memory proud, no one will ever be Zoran.
He passed away quite suddenly from lung cancer about six or so years ago, the place was taken over by his daughter-in-law, who really did it a disservice with unsafe food practices, but then Renee (the "Chinese Schnitzel Maker" in question) bought it, and that's where we're at now.
Caught up?
Cool.
So, the schnitzels are breaded and baked. In all my years working within 30 seconds of the shop and chowing down week after week after week, know how many times I've EVER gotten grizzle? Once. ONCE, when someone was being trained.
There are five breads to choose from -- multi, marble rye, dark rye, white, sourdough.
There's a variety of schnitzels to try -- chicken, veal, and eggplant/zucchini.
Or, you know, you could GO INSANE and have all three. It HAS been done. [Twitch/shudder/gasp.]
There's other stuff, too, but, really, WHY? It's SCHNITZEL.
Screw the Yaletown Brew Pub's schnitzel burger and come here.
For under $10, there's not a better "different" sandwich to try -- and probably not a better deal in Yaletown.
Oh, and not for nothin'? I've followed their food safety over the years, checking their Coastal Health Authority reviews, and they pretty much never have any infractions with restaurant inspectors. I know *I* like to hear that about people working with fresh chicken all day.
Schnitzel sandwich? Only thing missing is the beer license. (Sigh.)
You gotta get your schnitzel-deal on between 8am and 3:45, Monday to Friday, though, because that's IT, dude: No schnitzel for you after hours! It's just a block from the Yaletown CanadaLine station. -

A nice hidden little nook on Mainland, Euro Pastry House (Euro Schnitzel House according to the sign on their door) is cozy and very home-y. The establishment isn't exactly on the road so it's harder to spot. Once you walk past it during lunch rush, you'll always see a queue of people either lined up or waiting. Naturally, I was curious so I had to go see what it's all about.
Right from the get go, I understood why people kept coming back here. The ladies working there are super nice and friendly and the food is decent. Albeit being asian, (which made me raise my eyebrows) the food served is okay. The lady taking orders has a sing song voice which is really entertaining.
On my first visit, I ordered the Deluxe Schnitzel: chicken, zucchini, and eggplant and all the fixins (minus the peppers and pickles) in 3 layers of sandwich for $10. The chicken was nice and crispy and the eggplant and zucchini made it so huge and filling. The only issue I have is the bread used. With such a huge sandwich, I wish they used something that could actually stand up to the size of the sandwich. I found that the bread almost fell apart because it was quite flimsy compared to the filling. Other than that, I was satisfied with it.
On my next visit, I decided to go with something that isn't as huge. I ordered the oven roasted turkey sandwich and the chicken noodle soup. The broth for the soup was quite tasty, although I wish the chunks of chicken was a tad bigger. The turkey sandwich wasn't what I was expecting at all. The turkey was dry and so bland. It also fell apart before I took a bite. It does however smell really good and it wasn't a humongous sandwich like yesterday. It was big enough without being too big. And as from the first visit, I have an issue with the bread. I think they could use something that could stand up to the size of it.
Something that bothered me was that one of them sneezed while wrapping the sandwiches. Since her back was turned, I didn't see where she sneezed into. I pray that she sneezed into her blouse, because I didn't see her head cock to the side to sneeze into her shoulder.
I'd really like to rate this place a 2.5 and not 2, but since we don't have half ratings and I have an issue with 1 of them sneezing, they get a 2. Would I go back? Most likely not. The turkey sandwich turned me off. Maybe for the breakfast menu? But I'd be a bit skeptical. -

Ever had a decent schnitzel from a place with all Cantonese speaking staff? You're thinking, "Waaaa?" That was my reaction too, but I overcame my doubt and sampled their fare today.
Granted, this was not a thinly hammered schnitzel like the type you would get in Vienna. Granted, it is served as a sandwich instead of on a plate with cucumber salad, spätzle, and some fried potatoes. But for what it is - a schnitzel sandwich lunch - it is quite good.
They fry the schnitzel to order, so it arrives piping hot with a set of typical sandwich style trimmings on your choice of bread.
I had the veal schnitzel, as kalbschnitzel is my favourite always. The majority of the other customers were eating the house special of a "Euro Schnitzel" which has chicken schnitzel with fried eggplant and zucchini. A triple threat as some might say.
My schnitzel was tender, with a breading that was slightly too thick - but very tasty. The meat was well seasoned, and overall it was an enjoyable lunchtime treat.
Only in Vancouver - the home of Japanese hot dogs, and now Cantonese Schnitzel Sandwiches!

haha. this place made me laugh.
chinese people selling schnitzels!
walked in when wandering the streets of busy olympic yaletown when everywhere else was a huge line up.
my friend wanted a schnitzel sandwich and a ceasar salad but got a schnitzel ceasar salad. think it was his fault tho ;)
tbh - i'm a vegetarian but almost had a bite of his schnitzel. it looked delicious. he said it was.
the coffee was old and cold and almost empty (self-service) and it took them quite a while to brew more.
