Okay, I have to admit that I was attracted to this shop by it's name. I thought at first it was "Euro Foods and Ailments" as in illnesses. I just had to go in and see what it was all about. Euro Foods is like what you would imagine a deli would be like in Eastern Europe during the Cold War. And that isn't necessarily a good thing! The aroma in the shop is outstanding - it smells of delicious smoked and spiced meats and sausages. And, indeed, there are lots of sausages and meats behind the counter. Sadly, some of the meat looked a little off. Euro Foods also sells other European deli goods, such as pickles, cheeses, crackers and cookies. The staff is the real deal, in terms of European deli authenticity and the clientele seems to be the same. Everyone seemed to know each other on a first name basis. If you are looking for an authentic European deli experience, you might want to try this place out. It is no-nonsense and no-frills. But, it is lively and very real.
