i looove this place , the food at this place is average to good , sam gyup sal is really good , they have this topping that just make's it taste amazing. the main thing that brings me back is the service , the owner and waitresses are really friendly (:

Another Korean restaurant opened up in First Markham Place. Very spacious and clean compare to other Korean restaurants, mostly because they took over the place from another Korean BBQ restaurant that invested in the renovation.
What I like:
- really competitive lunch deal. For example, their Monday lunch special is pork bone soup for $6 bucks. Just like any other Korean place, they give you complimentary appetizers. On top of that, it comes with free dessert - a mini homemade sorbet (mango or ginseng)
- servers were very friendly
Don't like:
- I have had better pork bone soup at other places

Went for lunch and ordered Dolsot Bi Bim Bop. The rice was soaking wet and there was a puddle of water in the stone bowl. It was like mushy rice... the food and side dishes were not appealing at all. It was so unappetizing we didn't even eat the side dishes.

Est West Korean Fine Cuisine opened up recently at First Markham Place, taking over another Korean BBQ restaurant.
They kept most of the decoration but just put up some more partition and have more BBQ tables for 2... so provide more privacy and more couple friendly!
They have lunch specials for almost everything on the menu, which is a $1 cheaper than dinner.. so you won't be saving much. However on Monday to Wednesday, they do have one special item that is on special which may worth your while.
This afternoon.. I am this urges of eating meat.. so ended up ordering:
BBQ Kalbi beef ribs served on a hot plate ($11.99)
- Nicely presented and the beef have a great mixture of fat and lean...
- portion size was decent..
- 6 banchans and my waitress was happy to give me refills if I request
Est West is a decent place if you want to have some Korean food and BBQ. Services and environment is much better than Nan Wok, if you don't mind paying a little more! -

Been here a few times, a couple times with my bf and my first time with friends. I like that their porkbone soup has a twist from the other places in that there are mandoo in it! yummy!! and the portion is big enough for me and my bf. We order it in a beer combo which is great!
The service is good, like what you get at most korean restaurants (except for oh ghul boh ghul - crappy service there). Will definitely come back! -

Galbi was great. Appetizers were slightly different than other Korean restaurants. They had pasta which my son loved, and mango which I liked a lot and got free refills.
WItresses and owner were very friendly.
I will definitely be back.
