Horrible to see the grooming story but I've never had my dog groomed here.
I have taken my dog to daycare here regularly since he was a puppy. He loves it there. I also believe that because of this, he has learned alot of social skills etc because they know what they're doing with dogs so in effect, I got some free training.
When I was looking for dog training classes, someone at work recommended this place and I was already using it for daycare so that worked out well. Took classes with Kim at night and she was excellent even though I wasn't - I'm a bit of a pushover with my dog.. All dogs in the class were much improved by the end compared to the beginning of classes.
You get a discount on products if you use their daycare and they are always friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend them! -

Our dog was almost dead.
We took our dog to "Especially For Pets" on 16th Ave for grooming and she was almost dead after we had taken her home and discovered her condition. The store denied any wrongdoing. Half of her body was bruised up. She could not move for days and she had difficulities breathing. In addition, she barely had a hair cut despite $80+ service charge. The hair was still long and uneven. It was obvious that our dog probably fell from the table and the technican stopped cutting her hair. However, the store denied any wrongdoing or they did not even apologize.
We are dog owners of 13+ years and never encounter something so horrible!!!
Will NEVER take her to this place again. We will never trust their technicans. Careless behaviour, incompetence and worse of all, they did not apologize or admit wrongdoing. -

I stumbled upon this store while in search of a specific dog food that was having issues with the border and thus it was out of stock pretty much everywhere. Especially For Pets was the one store that had a huge bag of the exact food I was looking for. Even though I may have lucked out, it gave me a chance to check this place out. I was impressed! They have a very reasonable stock of pets foods, infact a whole room of it! They also have a doggy daycare, do grooming and also offer training classes! They carry all sorts of pet treats, grooming necessities, leashes/ collars. They carry some of the better toys I have bought for my dog, although he still ravages them. Their prices are standard to other pet stores I have been too. But their overall friendliness and helpfulness makes it that much better of a place to shop! You can tell the people working here are pet lovers and know their stuff! I will definitely return to Especially For Pets!
