Since the management changed last summer, customer service has improved quite a bit. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's also nice that you can purchase sofas made in Canada. When I have house warming parties to go to or am looking for gifts, their  wide range of kitchen accessories are saviors. Don't forget to check out the upstairs furniture too.

Usually love going into this store & location, a step up from Ikea in design & a good selection of  accessories.

Previous visits have led to good finds & experiencing knowledgeable sales staff.

However, the current staff need to work on their customer service skills, as I stopped by this week & no one approached me to ask if i needed any help until I was heading out the door after being in the store for 15minutes.

There were two people behind the counter (didnt look very busy)
& one person on the floor assisting another customer & she only approached me (& gave me the once up & down!!) as I was leaving the store.
Not very welcoming!! Not sure I will be back for this last reason!!
Too many other more friendly places to shop.

If only changing furniture was as easy as changing shoes, I wouldn't be obsessing so much about buying for the house!

I come in here periodically trying to appease the husband and bring down the cost of furnishing our place.  Much to his dismay, I continue to walk out empty handed!

Back in undergrad, I loved EQ3 since it was cooler/more contemporary than Ikea.  I think that's the best target market for this place - bit more money than Ikea for a bit more style and more custom options.

That being said, when you look at the quality up close, it's a pass for any type of more permanent place or if you want better quality materials.  A lot of the demos in the stores have chips and things are coming off the tracks.  Materials are average in quality and leathers at at the low end of the scale.

I think their accessories are cute and affordable though.  Overall A-OK to get a place started.  If you have a bigger budget, I would spend more for better quality and more unique style.

Does anyone remember Sklar Peppler (Canadian owned and operated)?  Our parents used to think this was the furniture company to buy from.  Well times have changed and so has Sklar Peppler.  They have developed a line of furniture and home accessories to appeal to the new generation, the urban sophisticates called EQ3.  This store is chalk full of cool contemporary furniture, platform beds, cow hide rugs, sexy lamps, and a pretty cool collection of nick nacks for the home.  Most of their pieces come in  wide array of fabrics and colours, and the staff are more than happy to help you pick one.   the prices are within reach and definitely don't break the bank.  Oh and don't forget to go upstairs they have a whole other floor that most people forget about.

I don't find the goods at EQ3 to be all that original or interesting, but if you are looking for home furnishings with a bit of modern edge, you might find what you are looking for here.  They carry a selection of furniture (chairs, beds, tables), a lot of accessories including lamps, serving ware, some dishes, rugs and linens and everything in this store has a kind of sleek, slightly, and I do mean slightly funky aesthetic.  I think where this store loses its appeal for me is in the fact that everything here seems to come in multiples of too many, producing the feeling that I am in a somewhat cooler version of Ikea.  But still, EQ3 is a reasonably priced place to come in your search for modern and sort of quirky furnishings.
