EQ3 equals Canada's IKEA? I must agree.
Another case of you get what you pay for. Not a year's past, and our console table is showing early signs of wobbly openings, and squeaky mechanisms here and there. I must admit their designs are a little bit edgier than IKEA, with a lot more modern and unique pieces that prove to be a step up from other lower grade furniture stores. It reminds me of a more minimalist version of CB2 in the States (the quirkier and more affordable offshoot of Crate and Barrel).
Despite the questionable quality, I still like the staff at the Yaletown location. We occasionally manage to swing by to check out what's new and almost always someone is happy to help, friendly smiles and all. Never mind that we tell them we're just there to browse, they treat you the same.
Catalogs abound at this location, nice to bring home to get a few design ideas. Despite the lower price point, pieces are delivered already assembled, and they also allow you to customize your upholstery orders with contemporary selections of fabrics.
This location might merit a return trip, but not for major key furniture, even if design and price prove tempting. Rather, I might consider a few of their unique and quirky accent pieces instead. Lest of course that consul table falls apart on me soon.Listed in: Yelping Yaletown
