My favourite beach in Vancouver.
It is so nice, and conveniently located in the city. There are so many great restaurants around. I love taking a walk around Stanley Park and finishing it off with a walk along English Bay. It is so pretty. And there are palm trees!
English Bay makes me feel like I am on Vacation every time I visit. -

a nice conveniently located beach. fairly large and deep. sand is clean. im not sure why there are a bunch of logs lined up on the sand. maybe its for seating. relaxed atmosphere. a mix of young people and families. you can watch the tankers roll by.

This is one of my favorite spot in Vancouver, B.C. It's like a little beach on the side of the city. This is a part of stanley park. On the side, there are some statues that you can take pictures with if you are first comers. There is a Cactus Club Bar on the side that has a magnificent views! :D I'll come back to the beach.

A good beach in Vancouver. Beautiful. Not that big or long as other famous beaches, but it is right there in the city. Easy to get to after great meals at restaurants nearby.

I sat on a log on the English Bay drinking some coffee, watching a seagull stand firm on a tiny mound of sand.
"I am the king of this hilllllllll," my boyfriend spoke for him. "No one will get me off this hilllllllll."
A half-hour later the seagull finally flew from his mountaintop. A pug dog named Hannah immediately scurried to the mound and peed on it. Her adopted, more thoughtful brother Sia stood disgusted in the distance.
The English Bay is beautiful. -

Reason number one hundred and eighty four why I live in the West End: English Bay in wee hours of the morning. Summer or fall, winter or spring, the lulling calm of English Bay in those magic early hours of the day never cease to refresh, energize, and prepare me for a hectic day. A stroll down Denman in the fresh hours of the morning is like having the whole city to myself. Buses may pass, binners may roll by, but as I walk down Denman towards the endless sea, it feels like it's just me and the bay.
Warm coffee in hand, I find a log to perch on and watch the early-risers and go-getters jog by. My shoes inevitably slip off, leaving my toes bare and in search of a perfect Lilliputian massage from the smooth sand below. Even as the morning sun heats the air, the sand underneath remains comfortingly cool.
Tourists, photographers, dog-walkers, runners, neighbours and friends inevitably make their way to the beach, but for that one golden hour between my "too-early" and their "just-right", English Bay is the most extraordinary spot in the city. -

English Bay is a really nice area to relax, go for a run, or just hang out. It's right beside a street lined up with tall condominiums on one side and a string of different shops/eateries on the other side.
I was fortunate enough to be here on a fairly sunny and hot day. We sat on one of the logs and just chilled out and talked. Everyone around you seems to be doing their own thing, which is good.
It's also a good place to people watch. Runners, children, couples, etc ( but not in a creepy way!)Listed in: 30 Day Yelp Challenge

We are so lucky to live in a bustling city with a view like English Bay. When the sun is shining and the clouds have cleared, this is the place to throw down a blanket and hang out, which is exactly what I did on Sunday afternoon. There's no better way to rid yourself of a hangover than to drag it down to the beach and let the sun soak it out of your body, just be sure to bring bottled water and sunblock if you're gonna do that.
There's always lots of people just kickin' it down by the beach, and it's cool cuz there are grassy areas, where you can enjoy the cool grass on your barefeet, or you can cozy up on the beach and let the warm sand run between your toes.
I do have a few complaints though: #1 dogs aren't allowed on the beach... Boooo!! I can understand that you may want to have rules about dogs being on leashes on the beach, but to not allow them at all seems kind of unfair. #2 Where the heck does one go to get an ice cream? And I'm not talking about waiting thirty minutes to buy a $8 ice cream at marble slab across the street. There are a bunch of hot dog vendors, but why are there no ice cream men?
Do they not see the millions they could potentially be making? Is there an ice cream by-law I don't know about?Listed in: Best of the best, Parklife

English Bay always makes me think about how lucky I am to live in this city, and how beautiful it really is. It's such a great spot to sit and relax or take a stroll. Where else can you sit on a bench and have the ocean before you, a gorgeous park to your left and the bustle of city life (and smell of street food) behind you. A definite must for any tourist when visiting Vancouver. A definite must for any local just needing a bit of R&R.

What better way to spend an early evening than with take away from one of the many eateries along Denman, or a crisp winter morning bundled up with a coffee in hand?
Gaze east and watch false creek hard at work: the ferries, dragon boat practices, kayakers, the Burrard Bridge, cyclists, kites flying at Kits...
Gaze west and watch the sail boats and barges that dot the sparkling water while the outline of the gulf islands against a blue or sun setting sky stands tall before plunging into the ocean. It never, ever gets old. Anytime I feel a little blue, all I have to do is spend a few minutes staring off into the sea, and I'm cured!
Sure, I might lament about the tourists and the people that walk in the bike lane, but at the end of the day (especially at the end of the day), I think us Westenders are the luckiest urban dwellers around. Having English Bay as our backyard is something I just don't want to ever give up! -

The true jewel in the crown of the West End. Nothing more glorious than to watch the sun setting on a nice summer day here. Plenty of benches and logs to rest on. Lots of dining options nearby. Love it.

What's not to love about this place. During the summer they bring out a floating dock with a slide an let people slide into the water. Rent bikes or kayaks or even jog along the bay which has lanes for joggers and bikes. Plenty of walking distance and plenty of scenery out here. I feel like its the Venice Beach of Vancouver.

This is a fantastic place to be. We live here, and there is always something happening. It is a hub of activity and a great place to exercise or just laze about in the sun.

This is a lovely place to spend a warm sunny day. Especially if you like dogs -- all of the ones I saw were on a leash -- I got to meet several of them and was able to get my puppy fix. :)
