I thought this was a great spot to rent a bike because it is located right at the trailhead of the Stanley Park loop. We considered renting a bike at a spot on Denman, but it involved too much city riding.
We tried to bargain prices to no avail, but hey 8 bucks for an hour is hard to beat. Got a road bike, because they are sturdy and perfect for the terrain. Gear shifting is a necessity on certain parts of the bike trail. "Passing to the left"
Biking is a must in vancouver, they have the most elaborate bike lanes I have ever seen. Very organized.

When checking out the sights in Vancouver, it is a must to visit Stanley Park. The best way to see the entire park is by bike. When researching where to rent a bike, we went strictly by price and location (proximity to start of the Stanley Park bike trail) and English Bay won.

You can pick which type of bike you want to borrow, based on where you're planning to bike. Since we were biking around the seawall and over to Granville Island we didn't want a beach cruiser nor a mountain bike for only $8 an hour. We went with the city/hybrid bike. Bike rental comes with bike locks and helmet. The guys that work here are really friendly and will answer any bike or non-bike related questions about the area. The bikes are well maintained and clean. You can't go wrong with English Bay!

I went in here to buy one of their used bikes and I was happy with the quality for price, happy with the low-pressure service, and happy with the professional atmosphere.

Also, the shop dog, Leroy, was a total charmer.

This is a great place for bike rentals. Rentals here are a great deal. $6 an hour for a bike and helmet. The guys that work here are down to earth, friendly and attentive.

My favorite way to explore new cities is on the back of two wheels. I'd heard that a ride on the "Seawall", tracing 22km of oceanfront, was not to be missed. English Bay got me set to trek.

They outfitted me with a shiny, basketed cruiser with complimentary lock and helmet (by law) fit for my adventures around Stanley Park. Their facilities were uber modern and suffused with sunlight. The smell of fresh tires filled the air.

From Simple brand touring bikes, to Giant mountain bikes for the little ones, and even strollers, rollerblades and tandems, these folks will get you on wheels at a reasonable price. What's also key is that renters have the freedom to return their equipment whenever they choose, even if that means the day after.

May spontaneity and discovery be yours!

Great rental place of bikes.  I did research prior to walking in, so I couldn't really gauge as to how helpful they would've been on my selection of bike, but I sensed that they were nice and knowledgeable.  The sign up was painless, the price was right ($36 for an overnight).  Free helmet and lock...no nickel and diming here!  If you're in Vancouver, you should definitely get a bike...it's a great bike city, and people here are generally aware of the bikers.

The only issue...lots of hills in Vancouver!  Gets rough...also, when you're going downhill, you go FAST!

Best bike place in Vancouver. We checked out two of the other ones on Denman, but this place had better selection and was cheaper. We have a 1-year old daughter and they had a great bike with kids seat (and helmet for our daughter).

The other bonus was that there was no extra fee for the lock and helmet. That was a nice touch.

    thank goodness for yelp!

after planning a trip with some girlfriends to head north of the border, i noticed a bunch of vancouver yelps coming from east bay community manager ligaya t., and immediately pounced. after reading her reviews, the one thing i knew we would do was ride bikes around stanley park.

stanley park is one of the most beautiful attractions that vancouver has to offer, and seeing it from the back of a bicycle is one of the best ways to do it. fall foliage scenes full of "happy little trees" that would make bob ross overly excited fill this 1.5 square mile paradise, set right next to vancouver's downtown. we biked the 5.5 miles on the seawall around stanley park, and saw many sights. we saw the bright blue lions gate bridge, which connects vancouver and west vancouver (cool!). we saw the girl in a wetsuit statue, who looks a lot more like a mermaid on a rock (way cool!). and we saw a man roller-blading with not one, but two boa constrictors around his neck (creepy cool!).

the lazy bike ride around stanley park was surely one of the highlights of my trip, and could not have been possible without the help of english bay. they offered mountain bikes, city bikes and old-school cruisers, in both adult and child sizes (i opted for a cruiser). as ligaya mentions, bike locks, baskets, and helmets are free of charge. and they will gladly point you in the direction of stanley park, granville island, or any other vancouver sight you're hoping to see. rentals go by the full day, half day, or hourly charge, making things easy as pie. definitely check them out when you're in vancouver!

Great place, nice staff, good rental rates, lots of bike choices, very close to Stanley Park.  I was in and out of there in 5 minutes with a wonderful bike.  Recommend it VERY highly!

I was in need of a bike helmet last night to go rollerblading and thanks to living around the corner from this shop, popped in to see what I could find. Was in and out in about 2 minutes with a shiny new pink and white helmet to keep my noggin safe. The cost is a whopping $1/hr and as they close at 9pm, I had plenty of time to go around the Seawall. Their bike selection looks to be quite large and I like being able to start at English Bay instead of having to go down by the entrance to the park.

Rented a couple of 7 Speed Cruiser bikes with complimentary helmets and did about 3 hours around downtown and stanley park.  Ok, it was 9.6 miles according to Google Maps.  The guys there were very helpful, low key and had a great slection of bikes.
    Would highly recommend.

Stopped in because they were closer to where I was staying than the other guys...found they had competitive pricing and cheerful, friendly, helpful staff. Free locks and helmets were a bonus and the bikes were comfortable and easy to use.
