Found at the charming Inn on the Lake in Fall River, en route to the airport, Encore is a cozy restaurant that has much more character than you'd expect for anything falling under the unfortunate banner of 'hotel restaurants'. Its multiple levels within the small space makes for a more intimate feel when you land in your own personal corner and on a nice day, the views of the lake would be spectacular.

Our visit today was for a nice brunch which was served from 11-2. The one-page menu had plenty to choose from (Eggs Benny, fishcakes, a gorgeous skillet and omelets) and was really reasonably priced. Our four-person meal came out at $56 which I've easily spent on just two brunch plates before. A quick glance at the rest of the menu showed the higher prices that you'd expect of a place like this although there were SO many options to choose from including a full page highlighting their many gluten-free dishes.

The fishcakes and skillet dish (The Farmer) were complete standouts from the table but unfortunately the Eggs Benny were a bit of a let down. The plate seems to have been either popped back in the oven after it was made, or put under an overzealous heat lamp that left the Hollandaise brown on the top and solidified throughout-a crime against my strong brunching beliefs. Still, we felt good about the price, we still cleared out plates, and we felt good about Encore as a great option to fuel up before a day of air travel.
