Review from David C.

This is my first visit to have acupuncture for a chronic pain from a sports injury. My philosophy is to stay away from traditional medicine since I prefer Chiropractic and exercise to address my minor aches and pains. It just took a nagging pain to finally get me to try acupuncture. I have known Wes Boyce for about a year and he kept telling me to come in and address the issue and get rid of the pain. WOW, was I impressed with his holistic approach. For some reason I just figured I would live with the pain but I am so glad I finally came in for treatments.
For all of you that play sports and get the nagging pains, I highly recommend Wes Boyce and the others at Encinitas Acupuncture and Massage. He has been treating me with several modalities and the pain is gone. I am a client for life (and health).
If you are a weekend sports nut like I am, you will be surprised at the professional approach they take at this office. Be prepared to be addressed much like a traditional MD's office. Their approach is to treat the problem not the symptom. My visit was almost an hour in length and I promise you I have never had that kind of professional attention from a traditional MD.
Price is fair and reasonable and I am glad I have the Health Saving Account as this is the only way to go. Thanks to Wes and the entire dedicated staff. -

Christiane is absolutely amazing. She is so caring, sweet and talented. I've been seeing her for weekly acupuncture for the past 6 months and feel like I've done a 180 with my stress levels. I truly can't say enough good things about her... worth every penny.

Encinitas, CA
This place is awesome. Everyone is really good. They've been in the community for over 25 years. A wide variety of specialties at this place, there are over twelve therapists who each have their own unique training and regions of specialties. But their goal is simple: they want to heal people. But they're not too airy-fairy about it, which is nice. The mood is a lot like a clinic, in that there is a reception desk and a waiting room, but the mood is pleasant, and there is a big water fixture.
Everyone is really professional, and each therapist (there are over 12) has a unique set of skills to meet your needs: They have acupuncture, massage (Natch) as well as a chiropractor, and sometimes they have facialists, hypnotherapists (to get rid of that nasty smoking habit, perhaps), family counseling, etc. Just give them a call.
Some of the other treatments that I've had: Hot rocks oil massage, Thai Massage, deep tissue, muscle repatterning, Tui Na, trigger point, EFT, Tuning Table, Nutritional guidance, Cranial Sacral, etc.
The price is great, I mean, $75 for an hour of massage from someone with twenty years of experience? My god.
Big note though, they don't accept insurance, but they will give you a special receipt to be reimbursed by your insurance company. -

I have been coming to Encinitas Acupuncture and Massage for a couple of years now. Everyone is very nice and the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable without being foo foo. This is about talking to the person who is going to work on you to help get what is right for you and make you feel better, rather than the type of experience you get at a fancy spa with fluffy robes, drinks, etc.
I have been seeing Donna Anselmo for both massage and acupuncture, and she is awesome. She asks good questions and really pinpoints where your issues are, then does massage, acupuncture or both, depending on what you want and what is going to be most helpful. it is amazing to me how much better I feel after she has worked on me.
I highly recommend Encinitas Acupuncture and Massage. You'll feel great! -

wow.
seriously, wow.
seriously.
had an acupuncture treatment with christiane today and she is AMAZING. not only is she great with the needles, but she also did sweet craniosacral work during my treatment. it all just felt so good. and she is incredibly caring and comforting.
the space is also very nice and soothing, even though it's right off of a busy street.
seriously, wow.Listed in: healing in san diego

I never thought I would/could give an acupuncture place a 5-star rating because I am so deathly afraid of needles, but when my neck pain got so bad, Donna healed me without pain and fear!!!! This place is a great find and from what I understand, many of the therapists have been there for decades. I saw Donna for a 1 hour acupuncture/massage session and she was very knowledgeable, experienced and gentle. My neck feels 100x better and I will be back! Note that the atmosphere is a bit less spa-like and more medical-like, but that is fine by me.

I'm happy to read that other people have had positive experiences at Encinitas Acupuncture and Massage, but that certainly was not the case for me and my husband. After my first and last massage by Donna Anselmo, I spent 3 months suffering from a pulled cranial ligament, despite the fact that I was very clear about my neck issues. I did inform Donna of my symptoms after the massage (ear pressure, TMJ, a swollen feeling in my skull) and she suggested I return for her 'part massage/part acupuncture'. That's not going happen after 3 different doctors diagnosed "trauma from massage". My husband thought EAM's Hot Rock massage was really lousy.

I've been getting massages from Krista here for several years and she is just terrific and a great person to boot. The place is clean and warm and friendly and the prices are reasonable.
