The home goods boutique, Emporia, is a relatively new store along Government street. Owned by the same family as the Violette jewelery store, Emporia has taken up Violette's old location after the jewelery store moved a block to the north.
I recently found myself shopping around downtown for a wedding present. I was at loose ends as the couple had not registered anywhere for gifts and I was looking for ideas. While looking in Emporia, the very helpful woman minding the shop offered me assistance very quickly, which I readily took, hoping for a suggestion of something that might work. She gave me a fantastic idea for creating a gift set centred around a food or drink, as well as showing me a few of the nice homewares around the store which could be used in such a gift.
I returned to the store a week later, having gathered some of the various pieces from around town. With another bit of guidance from the salespeople to find something that would fit with the other items I had, I purchased a simple, but quite attractive bamboo platter to tie the gift set together.
I could not be happier with my experience at this store. The salespeople are amazingly friendly and helpful. The store itself is bright and feels clean and open. There is a very interesting variety of merchandise which gives a nice selection and actually makes the store quite fun to browse as well. And, the prices are also quite reasonable.
This is a store I will definitely be returning to. Given the approaching holiday season, I have a feeling a fair portion of my bank account is going to end up with this business.
