4.5 stars. Whatever, I'm just going to round off. If the total cost was under $20, I would as happy as punch! Otherwise, pricing (and service, and return time of the item) seems competitive/reasonable, however.
Went to Ellis Cleaners, actually after reading Yelp reviews about the place. Definitely served my purposes, and I love that her personable and stellar service, is both consistent and sincere!! Lovely lady (Julie)!
Quality of the work done was also top notch. I paid $25 total, to get a fancy gown hemmed (chiffon like exterior, with a satiny lining).
Not having met the seamstress in person, I can see from her work that her quality is professional: accurate, that her finish is flawless I'd say (no loose threads, etc...). Almost best of all, I mentioned that I needed the gown back "very soon"... And not that I want all Yelpers to go, demand and then expect that items are returned by a set time, but Ellis Cleaners for sure had the gown hemmed in impressive timing!
To think that I was just going to hem the gown myself... I saved myself some stress and time, for sure! Plus the results were prettier than the quick version I would have otherwise settled for, were I to be my own seamstress this time.
Whatever, $25 turned out to be worth it. In trying the gown on, I'm so proud about their hemming job that I've actually pointed out the hem, to a few ppl. Something that I don't know that I would have done, with the rush job I would have done, myself.
I will definitely be returning.

The quality of Ellis Cleaners hasn't degraded but, after visiting some other dry cleaners, I've decided to downgrade them by one star. The speed and quality of the cleaning isn't as good as it could be. In particular, I'm not always happy with the pressing at Ellis Cleaners.
Despite the downgrade, it's still a decent place. The proximity to my house and the super friendly proprietor will keep me coming back.Listed in: My Neighbourhood - Ossington &…

I don't dry clean much, but have no complaints with the few items that I had done... I love this place... I have not had one problem with any of my pants and skirts that I have had altered... they have even managed to fix the few do it yourself screw ups.

How much love do I have for the woman that runs this place? My dry cleaning is done in a jiffy, my pants and skirts are hemmed at a very low cost (between $6 and $12, depending on the item), and I am always greeted with loving smiles and kind words in gentle and nurturing tones. Mama?
