Review from Lex C.
Coquitlam, BC
Yeah, so my review of this is extremely late, but whatever, I'm reviewing it anyway still. So there. I feel I need to express how truly awesome of an event it was and how much I enjoyed it, even though I was feeling kind of sick from the flu I was getting over and was being a giant cloud of lameness all night. Well, ok, a small cloud.
My thoughts on the night - random, like me:
- Yeah, way to drive to the wrong end of Main Street, Lex and Dave S. The fun end, too, with all the hookers and junkies. Thanks, Maps application on my iPhone.
- I'm wearing the total wrong decade. I look more Peggy than Betty Draper. Plus, who had long hair in the early 60's? (answer: absolutely no one.)
- Mmm, lobster BLTS. Mmm, Mac N Cheese. Mmm, ribs. Mmm, croquettes. Mmm, more ribs.
- Um, holy strong drinks! Too strong even for me. And that's a statement.
- Everyone else looks so cute. Hmm, maybe I do need that drink...
- Prizes? There's prizes? Hey, Dave won a bottle of vodka! He loves vodka! (and bourbon, and scotch, and beer...) Aww, that's so nice! They totally don't need to give out prizes! Everyone's just here for the free hooch anyway. (joking, joking...)
- Why are so many nice friendly people from San Francisco? They come up here and remind me how much I want to go back down there. Thanks Nish.
- It would've been nice if we'd had a table to sit at, but with all the Mad Men (People?...) space was sort of first come, first serve. And I'm pretty sure we were the last people to show up. Thanks again, Maps application on my iPhone.
- Love talking to all the fellow Yelpians. Its why I show up (and the food. I like food.)
And that was that. It was awesome. Just like everyone else has already said. Because I'm always late to the party. So when's the next event? -

I LOVED the elite event last night at Chaise! Thank you so much Crystal :) I had a lot of fun dressing up to a Mad Men theme and smoking bubble gum cigarettes and sipping on REALLY alcoholic Gimlets. The food was delicious - I loved the Mac n Cheese. The ribs fell off the bone. Oh and the lobster sandwich was tasty. The staff was super friendly too! And best of all, I really enjoyed meeting everyone. My +2 were very happy as well.
Can't wait for the next one!
Oh and I put up some pictures here:

I felt like I had falling into a black hole and when I recovered I was back in the 1960s. How lucky did I get?!
Chaise lounge did more than their part to make sure the drinks were flowing and their clientele was happy. I was more ecstatic, I was in awe of the madmen themed decor, the lovely outfits worn by women and men and lovely conversations had. Even though many back in day would never dream of being vegetarian Chaise lounge stepped it up a notch and personally brought me their amazing mac & cheese with truffle oil.
Yelp + Madmen = best night to out of the cold and into the 60s. -

This event was sooooo much fun!!! My +1/2's had so much fun!
What every one else said about food and drinks... Drinks were a bit strong, but after the first one you get used to it. LOL My favorite foods were the lobster sandwiches, mac n' cheese (those small portions were just the right size), and poutine.
I just know that I left the place as happy as a kitten with a ball of yarn.Listed in: Yelpage

Who knew Tuesday night could be so much fun?
The decor was snazzy, the crowd was fun, the staff were friendly, food was rich and delicious, and the music was groovy- I fell in love with Chaise when I heard "Hold Tight"!
Despite the small cozy space, there was plenty of room for all the pink elephants I saw... if you plan on having a few Gimlets at Chaise, be prepared to put your brain in a wheelchair.
Many thanks to Nish for the special guest appearance, and especially to Crystal, our Party Poobah, for the prizes, the planning, and all her work! -

Loved the music. Hey, I grew up with that music!!!
My brother certainly enjoyed it and made new friends at the event.

Crystal is simply a diamond!
Awesome, fun, wonderful smiles, now fond memories and the best Tuesday night in 20 years! oooohhhhhh Did I say that?

Can't not love the fact that the feature a "Chocolate" item on their chalk menu next to the "Salad of the Day".
Four stars for hospitality in a sexy 60s setting and great drinks (I heard the R&B beer was Really Bumpin' :P - I know I am a dork) with a wish that most of the stuff wasn't wrapped or stuffed with bacon (complaint of the vegetarian). Next time I'll remember to dress in the right era. Loved the theme and can't wait for the next one. -

I was so hoping I'd be the first to review --- still intoxicated and all, but Luisa has beat me to it.
Yelp events always deserves 5 stars, without a doubt... I'm rating based on overall food and stuff which I will give 3.5* for the night.
Andrea and her crew were super awesome with drinks flowing and awesome service throughout the whole night. Of all the foods I tried - including - crab and potato croquette, fancy sandwich, mac and cheese, bacon wrapped meatball, spicy sausage, and poutine.. I'm going to say that the mac and cheese had an interesting taste to it, and the crab salad, bacon sandwich were the best.
The drinks were SUPER strong and I learned that beer before liquor can't get your sicker... so I stuck with the beer at the end.
The pitcher of bloody mary's at each table was awesome.. as I munched on the extra celery sticks in each glass. It was awesome to see everyone dressed up.. and i tried my best, based on the Mad Men website where you could dress up in a 60's outfit, but it doesn't beat those who really came prepared.
Nish is awesome - sometimes makes me wish I was living in San Fran. Crystal is stylish as always and I cannot wait to come back. -

Always great to see my fellow Yelp Vancouver Elites and their +1's. What a sweet little resto/lounge Chaise is as well! I love the decor, the wall covering, the art and the retro-chic lighting.
The Bloody Mary tables were set up so cute, with full pitchers and rimmed glasses decorated festively with yummy crunchy celery sticks, Yelp pins, stickers and gum cigarettes.
The event had a CELEB-rative air (pardon the pun) with our visitor from the mother-ship, Nish co-hosting.
We wish you the best with your travels Nish ! :-)
You don't have to be a fashionista to have enjoyed this wardrobe theme either. The outfits were wonderful! Even I sported a skirt. (a rarity).
The menu was diverse enough to to feed the political and allergy bound diets of our group while grounding our bellies enough to enjoy a drink or two..... (or three) -

Another yelpilicious evening of great fun!
Great crowds, lovely atmosphere, flowing drinks and continuous stream of delicious snacks, what more can a girl ask?
The Mad Men theme earns it another extra star! -

Had a blast - great party and loved the theme. The staff at Chaise was awesome as well - I got a drink in my hand before I barely made it through the doorway. And it was definitely a fun crowd.
The damage? Some spilt gin on my kicks and a $35 parking ticket because I... forgot... to reload my meter. But that is an easy trade-off.Listed in: Yelp Events

Bit late to review but had a great time! Another well-organized event and loved the dress-up and fancy candy cigarettes... much more high tech than the Popeye ones I had as a kid - great idea Crystal!
Convenient location on Main Street with lots of parking around. Service was good throughout the evening - there was a few times the server would start at one end and then move on, but generally we were well attended to at the table.
Food was appys style and everything I had was tasty! Great selection like the mac and cheese with truffle oil, lobster club sandwich, hot dogs, and meat. They even made veggie options for non-meat eaters in the group. My drinks were non-alcoholic but I heard a few complaints that the drinks were too strong so that would be an area they may need to tweak.
Nice atmosphere and fun event! -
Review from Vincci L.
Oh Gimlets and Gin Drops, why must you make me so intoxicately happy? A Mad Men theme night, the Elites and their guests were all decked out in their best attire. Women in their skirts and dresses, men in their sleek outfits with skinny ties and hats.
A great room, with funky red accented chandaliers, with crystal balls hanging down from them. How cool is that? Black on grey damask patterned walls? Can I please have a wall like that in my room?
Pitchers of Bloody Marys awaited, with glasses adorned with a wedge of lemon and a celery stick, made with BC vodka!! Drinks at the bar: Gimlet: lemon juice+ gin. This was definetely a strong tasting drink, so I asked the nice guy working the bar to 'tweak' this drink for us by sugaring the rim, and adding syrup to it. SO much better. Gin Drops: pineapple juice and gin. Another strong drink, again, this was also tweaked and it was so much better!! These made the night EXTRA fun!!
Different kinds of delicious food brought out by the friendly staff. My favs were the crab & potato croquette with sweet chili sauce(I'm a sucker for croquettes!)and the mac n cheese-rich and creamy, with truffle oil!! (I am so coming back for more of this!)
Other bites included the lobster club-lobster salad, avocado, bacon, tomato, all in a sandwich, bacon wrapped meatloaf pieces, poutine, and beef shortribs-the meat just fell off the bone! Food was always piping hot, which is how it should always be.
As I went around and captured moments of Yelp Mad Men socializing, the bubble gum cigarettes were the best props ever!! The cool artwork as well as the funky chandeliers also provided an excellent backdrop.
It was cool meeting Nish and his wife, and I got a chance to talk to them for a bit. Thank you Crystal for doing another fantastic job in organizing another fun event!
I had a really great night as I sipped the night away with other Elite Mad Men and Women!!
Can I have another Gimlet please?? (Oh, don't forget about the sugar rimmed glass and the sugar syrup!)Listed in: Yelp Elite Fun

"Kids today, they have no one to look up to... 'cause they're looking up to us. "
You Elite Yelpers go strong with the theme! It was awesome to see so many people dress up and party in style!
The pitcher of Bloody Marys, the many glasses with the celery stick just wanting to picked up, the Gimlets... WOW! The appetizers were delicious. How can you go wrong with meatloaf on a stick! Truffle oil on Mac 'n cheese! Yum!
Chaise was a cool venue. I'll go back for sure to try more of their food. It was great to meet a few of the Elite gang and get to know you. Thanks Crystal for the invite.

It was like I stepped back into time... whoosh! I felt like I was actually in a social scene from Mad Men - of course, that only means that us Elites have class ;-)
With Bloody Marys galore, and Gimlets and Gin Drops - no one was left thirsty (or hungry for that matter... excuse me, could you bring the mac and cheese this way?)
Chaise Lounge is intimate and inviting with a fabulous ambiance... I will definitely return (but probably not in costume). -

Great Funky Atmosphere. Loved the Appys and that Mac and cheese! Mmm...delish! I had a really great time, thank you Yelp and Crystal! Met lots of great and wonderful people. Too all you Yelpers, Cheers! Drinks were awesome, a little too sour and strong for my taste, but still good nonetheless. One things for sure...no more Patrone for me. Oh boy...you hear that Andy L? no more.

Review from Luisa D.
My +1 is a winner!! Yep - she won the jellybeans and said she thinks she should start yelping too. Yay!! So I loved the venue - great vibe and the artwork of Miss Van is right up my alley. The staff were lovely with sincere smiles that made you feel welcome. The food was tasty from the crab/bacon/avocado clubs to bacon wrapped meatballs to spicy wieners. I was too full by the time the truffled mac n' cheese came around but my +1 said it was yummy. It seems crazy to complain about a cocktail being too strong but we had to ask for our 2nd drinks to be 'easy on the gin'. I wasn't crazy about the Bloody Mary either - I found it a bit bland and there wasn't enough ice so it was room temperature. I wouldn't hold this against Chaise though as it wasn't a typical evening for them. I'd give them another chance to fix me a drink that's just right. I enjoyed everyone's efforts to dress in theme and the candy cigarettes added a fun prop for pics. Crystal pulls off another well done event!!
