Review from Ben B.
Okay. That whole bit about finding the food overwhelming? I'm happy to report that their incredible veggie burger creation has sorted all of that out. It's freaking delicious!
Popped in to the Elephant's Eye after a too-long absence last week for lunch and clearly made the right choice from the lunch menu that ranges from soups, salads, and sandwiches to pastas and meaty crepes.
This veggie burger is of the lentil-bean-oat-mixture variety rather than the pretending-to-be-beef pedigree. Normally, this would be a bit of a let-down but I'll tell you, this non-traditional burger is packed full of delicious flavour, a great texture (albeit a little fall-aparty), and left me super satisfied for the rest of the afternoon.
Pair it with my favourite pecan pie in Halifax and you've got my new favourite lunch date obsession.Listed in: Date Night!

Elephant's Eye speaks a language of decadent delights. Lunchtime is the best time to soak up its offerings of good food and charming decor.
Its a small spot with a real feeling of intimacy. What a fantastic lunch date this would be. Its calm and tranquil atmosphere is well maintained and the European sensibility adds further finesse. Between its thoughtful menu selection and darling esthetic , its a spot to breath easy in the middle of a busy work day.
The restaurant gets fairly busy during lunch hour, so if you're on the clock it may not be best suited. However, if you do have the time, its worth the wait. Its all about the experience, as employees reflect as kind and accommodating to the core. It truly is a little escape from the downtown usual.
I'd urge anyone to give this spot a try. Its unique charm is a breath of fresh air, with the menu and service to match.Listed in: Mindful Eating

Beautiful Decor and wonderful food!
I love Elephant's Eye! I feel like I am walking into a small but loving home for lunch. In fact it doesn't feel like a restaurant at all! It really does feel like you are walking into an older but elegant home for your lunch. This style, I find is very common in Europe but a lot of places in North America have not learned to adopt this wonderful method of creating a unique ambiance.
The service is very nice and you feel welcome the minute you walk inside. But what I love most is the food. They are very, very reasonably priced and the food is very good quality, made fresh. Something that is unusual but not unheard of in Halifax. However, many places in the city that serve freshly made food tend to skip on flavor. I don't quite know why but Elephant Eye is the exception. They definitely keep flavor in, whether you are eating their wraps, soups or their salads.
Sitting on the popular Barrington Street, Elephant's Eye is very accessible to tourists, or anyone in the downtown Halifax area. If you want a relaxing, pleasant experience in a very nice and unique setting, I would highly recommend Elephant's Eye. -

This is a charming space with wonderful food and lovely decor.
I really enjoy dining at this elegant downtown restaurant. Their daily specials are fresh and inspired and the service is friendly and professional. I often find myself ordering some sort of panini, with a delectable cheese and colorful veggies cradled between two slices of fresh, soft bread. For dessert, indulge in the pecan pie - it is a delightful treat, perfect for sharing with your dining companion.
If you head down during the typical downtown lunch hour, be prepared to wait. It's a small space with many loyal patrons, so it fills quickly.
If you haven't been yet, I urge you to enjoy a unique lunch at this sweet Halifax resto. You'll feel appreciated and sated after a gourmet meal made with skill and passion in their tiny kitchen! -

A neat little restaurant which doesn't seat a lot and is always full. A nice variety of healthy menu options. It has a bit of a European, vegetarian sensibility. Service is fast and friendly. Especially popular with women - perhaps it feels too artsy for many men.
