I went in here on a Saturday afternoon at about 4:15 and asked if I could get a full set of gel nails.
I was enticed into this salon because of the sign outside "Full set of nails $25.00" Cheap! I thought, so I walked on in.
There was only one other woman in the salon and she was finishing up a pedicure. The women got me to quickly and I explained what I wanted. I've been burned by nail salon employees before: they offer so many things, and I've just said yes to all of them, and afterwards I found out that none of them were included in the price. I asked about the $25.00 deal and she explained that it was just a plain nail - no white tip. How ugly, I thought, and so obviously I had to ask for the white tip, which jumped the price $5.
I asked for clear tips and white airbrush, and the esthetician agreed, until she started working and then she somehow convinced me that I needed white tips. I didn't feel like arguing so I just gave up and said yes.
She ended up taking over an hour to do my nails, which I think is a little excessive. She ended with (what she thought was a) hand massage, but it was pretty much her waving my hands around in circles. It was pretty awkward.
I was happy enough with the outcome, considering it was not what I asked for. The job was done fine, and the employee was friendly enough, but I don't think I would go back. It took way too long, and I don't like people trying to change my mind when I ask for a service to be done a certain way. I know what I want, I am paying for the service, I don't need your preference to sway my decision.
