Definitely one of the most authentic and best Mexican restaurants in Montreal. Great service, amazing food but the prices can be a bit steep. If you like good Mexican cuisine, El Sombrero is a must for sure!

For those of us originally from South of The Canadian Border we have come to take our tacos and burritos and enchiladas for granted.
The good news is that finally, surviving in this city is possible, thanks to the little cozy El Sombrero. Which is as close to Authentic Mexican as you will be able to get.
Queso Fundido is here, as are tacos and enchiladas for sure. The seasonings are great, there is even a slight bit of heat in the food, which is a welcome respite from this notoriously spice-shy city.
Service is fantastic, especially by the woman who speaks french, spanish, german and english. You can tell they like their food there.
The bonus points come from the Latin Grocery store down the street that has everything from yerba mate to fresh tomatillos.
Damn. Straight.
