I have eaten here a couple of dozen times, its about as good as it gets in Bham for Mexican food.
The food comes out VERY fast most of the time, and the couple that run the place are very nice people. -

Very nice, family run neighborhood eatery. Absolutely authentic Mexican fare, ample portions, and excellent prices. Nothing fancy here, just good food and excellent service. You'll quickly become a regular!

* One last attempt before crossing the border *
On the way back from my recent trip Stateside I had to try to grab one last good Mexican meal before getting back to Vancouver.
Sadly, I failed.
The carne asada taco plate. Oy......
- The beef was overcooked to the point of being chewy
- Amazingly even with being cooked for so long, there was no caramelization on the beef at all
- Tortillas were very rubbery
- Bland mushy rice
- Refried beans which lacked flavour
- Guacamole had a slight film on it as if it was old
- Salsa was generic and quite bland
- The pool of grease on the plate was large enough to go swimming
Places in downtown Vancouver do a better job. Yikes!Listed in: Vancouver Latin and Caribbean…, South of the Border

This is where my family eats out. The food comes out fast and we can use our coupon so it is affordable for a family of 5. Plus the family that owns it is so nice.

My family and I have been going to this fine establishment since I was like 10. I guarantee if you show up on a Friday night at their busiest time you and three of your friends will get served in a matter of minutes!!! It still shocks me to this day that I always get my food on time and I have never had to send anything back to the kitchen.
Luis is the owner and many of the people that work there are family. He is always pacing around the restaurant making sure everything is going good!! I never have an empty chip or salsa bowl for longer than a minute and the price is of course just right!!!
My only gripe is that their soda glasses are a little small....but you do get free refills and their staff is usually on it when it comes to refills. I am just fond of bigger glasses.
Ambience 4 stars
Consistency 5 Stars
Price 5 Stars

El Rin is the best place in town. I typical eat there twice a month. I have never had bad service or a bad meal. I had take out last night. Best meal on the menu is the 2 beef burritos with rice and beans.

Oh, it's a cheap Mexican restaurant, a cheap Mexican restaurant run by Mexicans. Going to dinner here in high school guaranteed I'd see at least 3 of my friends.
