Review from DineoutGal A.
Winnipeg, MB
I was on the hunt for fresh corn tortillas. And I found it here, got 36 small round corn tortillas for $3.25. I was told they were made on Monday and shipped here on Wednesday and would last nearly a month. It's a tiny grocery store, with 2 small aisles of mostly Latin canned goods, spices and various beans. The freezer and fridge area had a lot of the goods I was hoping to see like tamales, pupusas, home made salsa (red and green ones), corn tortillas, tomatillos, queso fresco among others.
Everyone was sooo nice in the store - I had these two guys help me out and the owner was super informative. She spent time explaining the ingredients I was curious about and even let me taste a few items there. The Latin warmth and charm will definitely keep me coming back! -

Pretty much the only place in Winnipeg to find homemade chorizo. On my last visit they had a chipolte chorizo and a garlic-cilantro-onion one. I ordered three of the former, two of the latter, picked up some tortillas and had a taco-fest at home that night (with my own homemade pico de gallo, of course). Delicious.
The proprietors are Salvadoran, and their homemade pupusas are also very popular, but there's a great selection of imported foods from all over Latin America.
I've been bugging them for years to open a taqueria. Hopefully it'll happen soon!
