Sugar Land, TX
This is a solid breakfast place to go to if you wake up early enough on the weekends. My favorite dish is their seasonal Thanksgiving pumpkin/walnut waffle. I also like their ranch potatoes, can't get enough of those.
They're known for their coffee, and you can buy it by the bag similar to Starbucks. Overall service is good and there can be a bit of wait if you go on a weekend. Plus every once in awhile they give new customers freebies (like a free coffee or $5 off your bill) -

The people that work here are on some serious "happy" pills! I'm so intrigued to get insight into their recruiting process....how on earth can they have an entire staff that is so nice and accommodating?
It's safe to say that the 4 stars leans heavily towards the service, only b/c many of the items on the menu are either hit or miss. For starters the orange juice is terrible. It has a chemical taste to it and I highly suggest they take a closer look at their options in suppliers and change it immediately. The french toast also looks and tastes pretty sad.
On a good note, the have tons of options including many healthy choices. The waffles are SUPER good and so are the ranch potatoes, veggie benedict, milkshakes and their signature bottled hot sauce. The location is easily accesible and inside is clean and cozy.
I'm happy to have this cafe in my neighborhood and hope they change up that orange juice ASAP! -

I went to The Egg & I today killing time before a hair appointment. I am glad I had the time! I was immediately seated at around 11am. It took the waitress a while to get to me, so the manager took my drink order and brought me a fresh pot of Hazelnut coffee. Very good! The waitress finally realized I was there and took my order for the Waffle Eggspress. The waffle was crisp and delicious and the eggs over easy were perfect and the bacon was crisp. Yum! No complaints about the food and coffee. The service was a bit slow, but she was enjoyable. If I hadn't been in a rush to get to my hair cut I wouldn't have minded at all. I wish there was an Egg & I closer to my house!

The food comes out piece by piece. The server that brought out the food was beyond rude. The lady that waited on us was the only decent part of the visit. When you tell the Store Manager for this location he just looks at you and says ok. He seems like he really does not care who works here . My favorite remark was when I asked why does the food come out piece by piece he said so that it will stay hot but when you have eggs that are poached and you also have bread and the breed is missing um kinda of a screw up...

I was going home to Houston for a conference. Before I left I talked to my dad on the phone and he told me that we had to eat at this new breakfast place called the Egg & I. (Because of my dad's accent I thought he called it "The Eat Egg and Die" which worried me, until he restated the name) Anyway, I was very happy with this place. It was very empty when we went, but I have heard that it has gained popularity and now you can expect a wait. So give it a try!

This place beats IHOP or Dennys anytime. I usually order the corned beef hash with an english muffin..and hazelnut coffee. Amazing! Especially with the special sauce. Mmm! I wouldn't recommend coming on a Sunday afternoon because of all the people coming in from church. I don't mind waiting...just a bit upset because today they didn't have the corned beef hash! :( So instead I ordered the alvacado omelet with fruit. Still awesomely good. Next time..I'd rather get an order to go from this location.

I've had better Eggs Benedict. Was a little disappointed because if the concept was to specialize in cooking eggs, they failed miserably. Slow service.

We (me, wife, & 6 year old) went to this place about six months ago because our friend Senaido told us about how much he loved it. Usually I don't trust his judgment, but I thought, what the hell? He eats well. We waited forever to be seated so I was optimistic about the quality of the food. My wife ordered the sunrise chile rellenos. We are Mexican, so we know our chiles. Traditionally, chiles rellenos are made with poblano peppers. We got pickled hatch peppers instead. TOTAL BUMMER. Double bummer was that once the server took our order, we had to wait almost 30 minutes for a totally medicore breakfast. The eggs were cold and On a more positive note, the coffee is decent. If you're going to waste your time in a line, go to Breakfast Klub instead.

Coffee is so good. I love their pancakes. I love the granola crunch one with yogurt and the blueberry one. The service is friendly.

A solid breakfast, brunch, lunch place. They use fresh ingredients and have a number of healthy options. The portions are good and they serve a wide assortment of Tazo teas. The ambience comes off as suited for older people, which might be my only complaint, but both the food and the service were fine (although a tad slow when it's busy).
They close at 2:30p on weekends and at 2p during the week. A+ -

Packed on Mother's Day... so how'd this 2-week-old place do?
Very well. Wait time was only 5 minutes more than their estimate ("15 minutes"). Service was never a problem.
Orange Juice tasted fresh-squeezed this time. I think you get more at Le Peep.
House coffee was good (and like Le Peep, there's a stand with free coffee while you wait).
Eggs Benedict and roasted potatoes are very much like Le Peep's, and about the same price.
People noise drowned-out their Muzak system of classical music.
Now that I'm happy with the place, "Shall We Dance?" (you have to see first review to understand; well, even then, I am not sure the younger crowd even knows of the play the "King & I")Listed in: Movie-Themed Reviews

I like this place. It isn't cheap but the food is definitely good. I had a blueberry pancake with some eggs and it was pretty delicious. Nothing much else to write. It's pretty much a generic run of the mill ihop and dennys clone but with higher quality food which in turn brings a higher than normal price.
Overall it's a solid addition to the Meyerland area breakfast scene which is really needed around here. -

Comfy ambience. Nice place to breakfast with the fam and/or friends. Ordered the special which was a french toast challah bread with triple berry topping and it came with eggs and choice of meat. I ordered the turkey sausage as my meat choice.
French toast was good but a little on the bland side. It could be because i like it with lots of cinnamon and butter and this was just the bread and egg. Liked the berry topping. Eggs and tky sausage were good.
The service was very nice and very helpful. They are consistently good because we went to a location in estes park, co and they were good there also. One other thing--no maple syrup! I have to have real maple syrup. It is expensive though, so i understand when places don't always have it. It's so important that i will just eat them dry.
Very important--it was CLEAN. So nice to go to clean places because some places have been slipping in this area and i try to be appreciative when they make this a priority. The bathroom and the dining area were both clean. -

This was the first time me going there for breakfast. I ordered a blueberry pancake with eggs, bacon and coffee....all was pretty good. Service was great, the wait staff was very attentive....I enjoyed the quiet. I will visit again!

So not impressed. The staff seemed overwhelmed by special seating needs and so we waited 40 minutes when lots of people got seated before us. The kids were starving and crying by the time we got to a table. 2 out of 4 orders were wrong. One was easily corrected, the other we just kept (pancake instead of eggs...really!) because our child was so hungry she didnt care to wait for her original order.
The food was average. Better then iHop, but not great. We got charged for the wrong order. I doubt we will be going back...and never on a Sunday after church again. -

Food is alright. We had a table of 15 people. We stayed a while chit chatting and manager decided to eavesdrop and made a very sarcastic statement to make us leave so he could free up the table. If a manager works that way, I have to agree with all the previous reviews about the bad customer service. It is just breakfast, at least ihop won't make customers leave :)

STEAK LOVERS BEWARE!
I ordered the steak and eggs to go from this place and specifically asked them to cook my steak medium rare to rare. I paid for my food, recieved it and went home. When I cut into my steak it was well done! I called the manager and complained and he said that he would comp my meal, but I just wanted a steak done right. I headed back to the restaurant to return the steak and ask for one that was done properly (and willing to pay for it), and the manager said that they couldn't cook it rarer than medium! First of all the menu says cooked to order, if you can only do it a certain way than it should be on the menu. Second, they said nothing when I requested my steak be medium rare to rare and third on the phone the manager said nothing on the phone when I spoke to him! If that is your policy of just refunding and not making sure that your customer is fully satisfied, than that's just bull! Don't go to this place unless you want your food cooked to their order and poor service! -

If you enjoy fresh asparagus and eggs benedict then you'll love the veggie benedict. It's a perfect start to a morning and it will easily split between two.

I've only been here once for breakfast, and I think I hit the jackpot when I chose the crab cakes benedict. This place makes hollandaise sauce right! It was creamy and not overwhelmed with lemon juice. The poached eggs were perfect. The crab cakes were tasty, but it was a tad salty. I had to douse it in more sauce and take a bite of the English muffin to balance it out. With the help of the muffin, I've managed to polished off all of the hollandaise. I didn't have enough room to finish my potatoes, but I blame that on the excellent hazelnut coffee. I'll definitely go back when I'm in town.

The food is very good but the staff can be a bit scattered. The parking is bad but that is the shopping center really. Give it a try but be patient and get the waiter's attention when you actually need something.

yummy diner food- as good as it gets!
the biscuits and sausage gravy are as good as any homecooked i've had and the the eggs benedict were nice and lemony.
the skillet potatoes had a nice crunchy crust, just how i like them.
by far better than any breakfast i have had in houston... including highly rated brunch at local restaurants. -

Feels like a chain (it is), but the food is much better than IHOP or Denny's. More like Le Peep, but less expensive. My #1 criteria for a breakfast spot is quality of bacon, & this place nailed it. Just thick enough & perfect crispy-factor. Yum!

We love to eat here, the variety of food they offer is great. The service when its good its good but not consistent. We put our name in and they never called and scratched us off the list, so we had to wait longer. The server was nice. There was not sweetner on table so I asked and about 15 mins. later after asking again, finally I was able to drink my coffee. The food was good except for the aluminum foil on my sausage, so much for looking at the plates before you send them back. Please fix the service here.

Egg dishes are very good as well as the coffee. Bread is not special and was dry. Potatoes are just normal nothing special! Kind of the same take off as La Peep. Good location though since there are no other good breakfast places around there.
