I think this has to be my favourite park in all of Calgary. It's nearby. It's small, but if you are up for an adventure ride your bike or hike to the next park. I like how the spruce trees are lined up in a straight line with red dirt paths. It makes for great pictures. There is plenty of sun and plenty of shade. There is access to float down the bow. And there is even a place to get a burger, hot dog or ice cream. And just for fun you can even ride the horsies in the playground!
Families and groups are always bbq'ing here, so everyone is happy and there is always a real positive vibe. To me it has everything a city park should have. Perfect place to get away for a couple of hours and be back home in less than 15 minutes.
I will say on a nice day parking can be nuts, so don't expect to find a spot mid afternoon! -

Trees, paths, quietness all around. Edworthy park has been my spot to head out for some early morning running the last couple of months... or early evening on the days that getting up that early just weren't happening!
I favourite bit to do is climb the hill upto the dog park and then loop around through the hilly trail to make my way back down. Note: Bug spray needed these days.
The playground looks like a lot of fun, one of these days I'm going to be 5 again and stop to play. Maybe on the same day I hit up one of the BBQ pits or picnic shelters in the park. Either way, it's yet another beautiful spot in Calgary to spend an hour, an afternoon or a sunny Saturday :).Listed in: Beautiful places and open…, Calgary parks, Picnics in Calgary
