Crisp, clean and modern. My only issue is with the parking. It's downtown of course, so I shouldn't complain too much.
I like that it is connected to all of the building surrounding it, so you can take a hike and enjoy the scenery. -

There are many good things about City Centre Mall. It's right on the LRT line and easy for me to get to. The mall is a good size, and it looks nice. There are a couple malls in Edmonton that are starting to look run down, but City Centre isn't one of them. In winter it's nice to walk around and get shelter from the cold. Plus the movie theatre inside City Centre is a decent theatre, and they sell pretzels. That might not seem like a big deal but trust me, freshly made pretzels are delicious. City Centre also has a few stores and restaurants that I haven't been able to find in other places. Crowds here are certainly not as crazy as other malls like WEM or Southgate.
There are two big dislikes I have for City Centre. First parking. Yes there's the LRT but anyone who decides to drive will have to pay for parking. It is downtown. The bigger problem is the hours. For the most part City Centre has really limited hours 10am to 6pm on most days. Sunday is even more limited, noon to 5pm. City Centre mall on sunday is like a ghost town (at least when I've gone). There is later shopping until 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays. Some of the restaurants like the Elephant and Castle, as well as the movie theatre, stay open later.
I debated between 3 and 4 stars but I'm sticking with 3 stars. For me there's no point in making my way to City Hall when there are other malls, and shopping ares in the city, especially when there are places that stay open after 6pm. But if it's a weekday, and you're in the are you can stop by and check out City Centre. -

Ok so I use to be a fan of Edmonton City Centre shopping but theres not much there anymore when it comes to men clothing. Like nothing. I do come here for the movie theatre though thats after 6 when the parking is free. Parking , like whaaat? Tough to find and it costs about $5/hr. I went on Sunday and spent a total of 20 mins there. Too many homeless asking me for change and well nothing for me to do there.

I wish there was a half star I could give. I would definitely give City Center 3 1/2 stars.
This mall is full of great clothing stores, tons of interesting restaurants, and some really interesting people. You can see the wide gap between the wealthy and the poor, in Edmonton's downtown district . I saw so many people in beautiful business attire walking around, however, there were also many impoverished looking people. This is not a judgement I am passing, merely just a minor observation in the clientele at this mall.
The mall has a very new feel to it and is very clean. However, I found it quite difficult to shop in. So many different levels made it confusing for where stores were located. I found myself lost multiple times.
I think, however, the largest issue I had with City Center was parking. Just like any building downtown, parking can be tough to find. I had parked in the underground parking at the mall to find I owed $13 for parking roughly 4 hours. That did not make me want to make a quick return.
Overall, the mall has great stores, worth shopping in, but I would only put the effort of going there for rare occassions.

There are a lot of things to like about the City Center mall. The best thing about it is that it's super accessible by public transportation. The worst - the parking is so confusing that it's not a viable option for people who choose to drive (aka majority of Edmontonians). I have no clue why it is so difficult to get to the parking lot. It's almost like a maze.
I am not thoroughly impressed by the hours of operation. Everything closes at 6 p.m. and though that seems fine since businesses in downtown shut around then too, it begs the question of the redundancy of this mall in general. It's not like a place people would go to over the weekends. Also, office goers don't always have time to spend a couple of hours at the Bay choosing their favorite tie. So, I for one don't understand why it is there. Most of the staff that work here seem bored because of the lack of any real clientele.
On the plus side, the mall is clean and well lit. It has a huge collection of shops which actually makes it a complete mall in many ways. I like that there's a multiplex on the top floor but am not too impressed going there for a night show because everything else is shut around that part of town. To be honest, the mall confuses me a lot. The only time someone like me, who doesn't work in the downtown core, would go there is when no one is around. So I've never had the experience of a vibrant cross-section of shoppers busily moving from shop to shop in this mall. -

Yes, it is actually a lot quieter during the weekends. This mostly due to the downtown core layout and how downtown becomes a ghost town past 6pm on a Friday. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it makes it easier to find parking during the weekends. If you try go during the workday then you have to really pay the absurd downtown parking rates, so public transport is recommended. There is a wide variety of stores for you inside, from The Bay, HMV, EBgames, Holt Renfrew, Gap, Shopper's Drugmart, and more. There are also 2 food courts and a Tim Hortons located in the middle of the pedway of the two buildings on the 2nd floor. There is also a pedway to Commerce Place (where you can find Henry Singer and Holt).
The recent revitalization of the shopping centre has really helped boost their appeal. I also prefer going here if I don't want to rencounter the rush that one would find at WEM on a busy weekend. The hours can be a bit inconvenient as well; open only until 6 from Monday to Wednesday, and only open for 5 hours on Sunday. The parking is still a drawback that is hard to get over as well, but otherwise don't expect to walk out empty handed. -
Review from Amanda F.
I haven't done a whole lot of shopping at this mall but I do walk through it on occasion when looking for something specific or visiting the movie theater. Seems to be a wide variety of stores (I like any mall that has a shoppers drug mart in it for some reason) and the mall always seems clean and bright. I really love the fact that I don't think I have ever been here and it has been crazy busy - maybe I am just really lucking out but hey - that works for me. Parking is definitely an issue - as I am not 100% familiar with downtown I prefer not to drive here but if you really know your way around then I'm sure you will be fine! Since this mall is right in the heart of downtown, if your feeling bored on a weekend, you can kind of make a day out of wandering around downtown and walking through the mall just enjoying the atmosphere and maybe some people watching (people watching is extra fun downtown for some reason haha!)!

Review from Lauren N.
This mall ain't half bad, considering it's in the corporate downtown core and thus is usually filled with business workers. I used to think it was a lot more dead, but I started coming here more and realized it wasn't too shabby.
City Centre has two sections to it, so it's got more stores than it seems, but it can also be quite confusing if you don't remember where a particular store is. Stores here include Aldo Shoes, Le Chateau, BCBG Max Azria, Nine West, Urban, and EB Games. Department stores include The Bay, Winners, and Shoppers Drug Mart. In terms of clothing, you could do some serious splurging here.
The movie theatre and Delta Hotel are located on the third floor, and the mall is also connected to the more high-end shops at Commerce Place, like the infamous Holt Renfrew. City Centre has two food courts, one in each half of the mall, although I'd say the one closest to the LRT station is the better one. Once you're done all your shopping, you can catch a ride home on the train, located in the underground Churchill station connected to the mall.
So it may take some weaving here and there, but City Centre actually has a lot to offer, and can be very convenient. I'd even say it's one of the downtown highlights of this city. -

I never usually go to City Centre unless I'm already downtown and on foot. It's such a pain to park downtown, and there's nothing here that you can't find at WEM, Southgate, Kingsway, or the million and one other malls around the city that have adequate and free parking.
City Centre is home to The Bay, CBC, Cost Mountain Sports, Empire Theatres, Eveline Charles Academy, Winners and the Delta Edmonont Centre Suite Hotel, plus many other shops. I like that there's a Tim Horton's inside the mall, but the line-up can be huge, especially first thing in the morning. The food court is also fairly massive and at lunch is filling with suits on their lunch break and teenagers skipping school.
The movie theatres not too busy, because there are bigger, better theatres around with better parking in a pinch than City Centre, so if you've got time and don't want to face the throngs to go to a flick, this theatre's a quieter, less frenetic evening out. -

City Centre mall is probably my all-around favourite mall in Edmonton. It doesn't necessarily have the best selection of stores, but it's always easy to get to on ETS, and it's way less busy than other malls. I went in the last Saturday afternoon before Christmas, and the place was still quite tolerable. It's actually less busy on weekends than during the week. I guess this is part of the whole dead downtown core thing, but I'm ok with it for now.
It can be a little confusing to navigate, but the 2nd floor pedways are the best way to get around without having to go outside. -

I don't think Edmonton City Centre is that great of a mall. It's not as thriving as it once was; however, it's better than it's been. There are some good stores like The Gap, Le Chateau, Aldo, Payless, and Winners, but these are chain stores, so it doesn't really bring anything unique to this mall. The Bay here is huge, and it's one of the best in the city. I like going to Purdy's, Booster Juice, and Tim Horton's for a treat. Some of the best restaurants in the mall are Elephant and Castle and Four Rooms.
I think one of the problems with this mall is that everything is so spread out. I'd prefer to see the best stores concentrated in one mall, but instead the mall is very spread out and a mixture of good and mediocre stores. The food court's here aren't that great either. I often find myself not being able to decided what I want. I do like the new chairs they put in by the Winners--they are very comfy, and it's relaxing, but these chairs are almost always taken. It's frustrating.
This mall is rather convenient, because it connects to Scotia Place and Commerce Place without having to step outside at all. Also, the Edmonton Public Library is right across the street. I love coming here for movies, especially it's so it's easy to get here and to get home. The mall is connected to the LRT and also the number 9 bus goes right by here. This mall is all right, when I'm just killing time, but I'd still choose Kingsway Garden Mall over this mall for a shopping trip. -

This mall gets a lot busier than I thought it would. It has a bunch of good stores like, HMV, Get Set, Holt Renfrew, Urban, etc. and it has 2 food courts. Generally it is filled with business workers but it also has its fair share of regular consumers.
I hate the parking here. It is impossible to find parking downtown and the mall does have underground paid parking but it's just an inconvenience. If you can find parking though, it is quite alright. -

Can you call this a mall? It seems too sophisticated to be called a mall...
I really like City Centre. It truly is geared towards to young professional working downtown. The centre quietly invites you to go shopping over your lunch break and buy that new blouse or that new pair of shoes.
The hours of this shopping centre are also geared towards the downtown crowd. The place is deserted by 6pm and shops have closed their doors.
There are some good places to eat in here as well. They have a booster juice, Lazia and a food court in the basement.
I really like shopping here because it isn't usually full with rowdy teenagers like at Southgate or Kingsway. If you crave a quieter shopping experience, City Centre is the way to go. -

City Centre has some nice stores but I rarely shop here.
This mall is more of a business hub. I would shop and eat here when I worked downtown but that's about it. The mall is really only open during regular work day hours and there's not many people downtown to shop after that anyway.
They have some great food courts though. I really enjoyed going for lunch at City Centre when I could.
It's the kind of mall that I wouldn't choose to go to. If I was close by or if I couldn't find something anywhere else, I'd go to City Centre.
The mall itself is really nice looking. It's clean and it has a higher end feel to it than a lot of other malls in the city.
If you haven't been, I would recommend checking it out so that you know what it has to offer but don't expect to make it your mall of choice. -
Review from Paula K.
I prefer coming to City Centre than West Edmonton Mall. The selection of stores, the atmosphere, and the food courts are way better. And, unless it is the busy downtown lunch hour, it is much more laid back and less crowded. I often come here to grab a quick meal when downtown. City Centre is actually several buildings joined together by pedways, which makes getting around downtown great in the colder weather, because you can often get to where you have to go without being outside much. There are a lot of other downtown attractions nearby like Churchill Square, City Hall, and the library, and the area is serviced by a lot of buses and the LRT.

I will take Edmonton City Centre over West Edmonton Mall any day of the week. Yes, it may be hard to find parking, since this mall is located downtown, but going through the little trouble of spending couple extra minutes to find parking spot is worth it. I personally hardly ever walk out of City Centre empty-handed. The selection of stores is great: there are Winners, Feet First, BCBG Max Azria, Davinci Shoes, Danier Leather, HMV, Purdy's Chocolates, Shoppers Drug Mart (with incorporated beauty boutique), Watch It. There are two food courts. On the top level of the mall, there is a fantastic movie theater with some of the most comfortable seats in town.
City Centre is connected to Commerce Place that houses Holt Renfrew, Escada, Henry Singer, Night Owl fine lingerie boutique and Sam Abouhassan. All these stores are extremely expensive, and are only good for browsing.
City Centre Mall isn't nearly as busy as West Edmonton Mall, even on the weekends. During the week, it is frequented by office workers, while on Saturday and Sunday it attracts an array of people of all ages and professions : ) To me, City Centre feels less rushed than other malls in our city. -
Review from Chukwuma M.
Not the best mall out there, but very convenient if you happen to be downtown or work downtown. I used to stop here a few times after spending some time with my sister at U of A to buy video games at EBGames. There's a decent selection of stores, but not as great as you will find in Southgate or West Ed. The great thing about the ECC is that its not very crowded, so if you want to beat the West Ed. rush them you might as well stop here if you're nearby.
