Calgary, AB
This restaurant has awesome view and sees Niagara Falls (waterfalls).
I ordered, "Veggie wraps with lot of Fruits"! It's taste really good. I also ordered drank called "Mudslide" It's really delicious!! I love it. The service is supering speedy and waitress is very friendly. Also it's overpriced $$$. -

So ummmmmmm yeah not much to say about this place but it was just ehhhhhhh.......
The good part of this restaurant is the view and thats about it.
The food was blah....
the bathrooms were nasty
and the place had no AC on in the middle of Summer WTF.............
Food Review
BBQ Chicken - was try and not very tasty! the BBQ sauce really had no flavor or spice or kick or anything to it
The baked onion and garlic soup was very salty and just filled with garlic powder or seasoning
Penne Pasta Primavera - a lot of food, drenched in sauce and lacked seasoning
Service was ok
price tab was not ok for what you got, you more or less are just paying for the view. -
Review from Lin W.
I only ordered 2 things at this place so I might not be much of a useful Yelpers over here. But..
Atmosphere (5): What can you say.. this is almost the only restaurant that is FACING the niagara falls and you see the ENTIRE view of it (excluding hotels)
Service (5): Can't complain! Very speedy!
Staff (3): As friendly and nice as our waitress is, she didn't know the menu very well. I asked her if a drink had liquor in it which she said no but the menu stated it did so she got me confused there. My boyfriend asked for irish creme and she was surprised to see that there weren't baileys listed as a liquor under their irish creme drink.
Drinks (3): Both of our drinks had almost no liquor in it which made me feel like I wasted my money (specially since food & drinks are SO expensive there)
Food (5): The only thing we ordered before hitting our real dinner spot was their clam chowder. The clam chowder was almost as good as Fisherman Wharf's chowder! It had a bit of a twist in it becuase it didn't look like your normal creamy white clam chowder. Oh yes, it was creamy but it had color in it . I believe they added carrots in it. Whatever they added, it was soooooooooo delicious I could've easily gone for seconds if I didn't have to leave to go to dinner. -

The view is world class.
The food is awful and excessively expensive. My travel friend and I had a burger and a beer each. The bill came to $54 before tip. What's even more hilarious is that at those prices you cannot even request how to have your burger cooked; everything must be cooked well done (I'm guessing the burgers are precooked and heated when needed).
The menus (in form and content) and glaring lighting remind you of a midrange truck stop.
Unless you're on the verge of starvation (seriously, death is a real option) I would recommend just going for drinks on the southern most portion of the outdoor area to enjoy the view. It's a shame that such a great location has such a terrible restaurant. If I were Canadian I would be embarrassed that this is often many international visitors' first impression of Canada. -

My boyfriend and I visited Niagara Falls over the summer on quite possibly the hottest day ever.
We wanted some good food and cold beer plus some ac.
We were severly disappointed.
We both ordered cheeseburgers. The meat on both of our burgers was GRAY! We both only ate a bit. The fries were limp and very salty.
Our waitress was unattentive and rude. There was no ac. And the beverage selection left something to be desired. It was not worth the $45 we spent.
You would have better luck heading over to Planet Hollywood or the Hard Rock Cafe down the street. -

Oh the bane of the tourist destination and their mediocre restaurants! Niagara Falls is no different than the thousands of other locales around the world. Edgewater's offers the views, offered up with mediocre and expensive food.
Visiting with my vegetarian nieces, sister-in-law, and brother, we choose Edgewater's due to the grumbling stomachs of my nieces. The buffet offered little to them so we went upstairs to the Tap and Grill. Loved the views of the Falls from the outdoor deck. Our waitress was pleasant and accommodating. I ordered meatloaf; the fried onions and gravy was the best; the loaf was dense and tasteless. The rest of the crew enjoyed their food but also commented on the expense.
Did the job of keeping two little girls happy but, for the price and quality, Edgewaters Tap and Grill is best for a beer with a beautiful a view. -
Review from Reesa T.
Wow, this was a let down.
Rating system:
1 star for menu, 1 star for food, 1 star for ambience, 1 star for service and 1 star for price. 1 star for beer.
Wait... thats 6 stars!?
Yeah... Edgewaters needed a little extra help...
First off they have an amazing view from their patio/deck and they have heaters overhead on it. Double win for sure!
+1 for ambience
Service was sub-parr. They were slightly busy, and I am a reasonable person... but this was insane. I don't blame our server entirely, I looked around and I watched, she was busy and had what I would call too many tables. None the less my beer was empty and I never did get the water I asked for....
+0 for service. The establishment needs to staff accordingly for a Friday night, it was the turning fall but still in season and there were fireworks... Having people to serve customers is key management of Edgewaters.
Menu: wow. So I am a vegetarian... but I am not unreasonable. I don't try to make everyone veggie like me, and I don't expect pages upon pages of menu to include vegetarian options. Though a few won't kill you.... Their menu was a HUGE let down. Their soups and salads all had a meat component. Fine... Caesar salad with no bacon please. The bacon isn't optional it is IN the dressing. ... .... Fine... can I get a salad with no dressing...? Mmmmm that was worth $12.
+0 for menu.
sidenote: the menu you have posted downstairs Edgewaters... a light might help so I could read it!!!???
Food: Well we got a salad, rather plain to split and we got a side of bread. The salad, as I already mentioned was a disappointment. The bread wasn't warm and didn't strike me as fresh. It wasn't special- thats for sure.
+0 stars
Beer: meh... this was okay. For a "tap and grill" I prefer to see more selection on tap. but it wasn't terrible. Keiths white for the winning safe fallback! :D
+.5 cause I like beer.
Price.... ouch. WAY too steep for what they're offering. Except the view perhaps... The food and service were NOT worth the money spent but the view from the table of both falls did make it not a total bust!
+.5 stars -

It was good food. Nothing fancy but not mediocre. Our service was fine, the price was more than we are used to in FL but average for the area.

Don't do it!! Just don't! I know the location seems amazing and you think it's fine if the food isn't that great. It's so terrible that it just isn't worth it. You would think that they can't mess up food as simple as cobb salad, spinach dip, buffalo wings, and veggie wrap. But you would be very wrong. Just aweful. Our waitress was pleasant enough when she was around but the service was painfully slow and the hostess was just about the most unpleasant hostess I have ever encountered.

We headed into the bar area just before the fireworks began (at 10 pm) and couldn't get anyone to wait on us....so I wandered up to the bar. They were really busy as it was Canada Day, but did not seem too happy that we had three kids at one of the tables....but the bartender turned out to be GREAT!
We have been here in the past because they usually have a band that plays right outside, but we arrived too late for the band (they stop when fireworks begin). Fun place with a relaxed Canadian vibe....
We had a few beers, got ice cream for the kids (it was GREAT) and when the fireworks began everyone headed outside to watch. Good spot for fireworks........
Canadian Pint 7.50
Truis Cab Sau Gl 8.50
EW Ice Cream (3 @ 4.99) 14.97
Total - $35.00 + 7 tip = 42 CAN = 39.72 USD + 1.09 AMEX Fee -
Review from Colleen B.
You can't beat the sweeping views of Niagara Falls from this restaurant! That's one of two reasons to dine here. The second is the food is pretty good and it beats the fast food and bizarre buffet options in the immediate area.
Service was sarcastic and surly and prompted me to want to cry out T.M.I.! Having been a server myself, I understand the season is over and you just can't serve one more tourist a burger with a smile, but god we don't want to hear about how you sore you are. From what exactly, my family and I don't want to know.
The food was surprisingly good. Your standard pub fare, with a tasty chicken sandwich (nice Dijon mustard on top) and the generous roast beef sandwich and tasty burger. Even the chicken tenders were above average. The fries were pretty addictive too, not sure how they are pulling that off, but it could be a Canadian thing.
Finally, if you're waiting for a table don't bother with the bar. They seemed much more interested in helping the servers (who were not that swamped) and/or staring off into space. -
Review from GoPhast A.
Woe. The worst food and the worst service ever. Sad thing is ~ with the view, no one cares! Soooooo do not eat here! Have a drink...if you can get one. Do not and I repeat do not eat here!!! WARNING WILL ROBINSON DO NOT EAT HERE! Drinking here is ok...view A++.

Review from Tak L.
Edgewater gets one sole star only because of the outdoor tables and view. Service, food, price, and ambience were absolutely atrocious. The restaurant just serves as a magnet to new tourists in the Falls area.
- Ambience and Service -
Sure, its close to the falls, and you can see the American falls from the deck. But it doesn't make up for everything else.
Most of the waitresses look like they're suffering, and could care less about what you order. Five minutes cannot go buy without hearing something falling or breaking. While there at least 4 dishes broke in the restaurant and forks drop all over the place.
- Food and Price -
I ordered a Grilled Flat Iron Steak ($19.99), MEDIUM. What I got were two pieces of the raw steak that has not been thoroughly cooked. The insides were still very red, and I wouldn't classify it as rare either. The steaks were also similar to chewing a piece of rubber; it was not tender, had no taste, and impossible to properly chew through.
The fries that came with the dish were soggy wet and not fresh. At least the brocolli and cucumbers were just brocolli and cucumbers. It speaks volumes when the vegetables that only require cutting tastes better than the other items in the dish.
Dessert is good, but since when was dessert never good.
While you might see this place as very attractive and convenient when visiting the area, heed the advice of the reviewers so far on Yelp and avoid this place. McDonald's is better than this! -

People come here for the view of the falls while having a bite to eat or a refreshing drink. So you do the same. Don't expect great food, but the service was good and the food was appropriate for what it was.

We had a great view of the falls and fireworks...and the service was great. We showed up at 8:30 on the 4th of July, and asked them to seat us at the next best table, waited a half hour for it (comfortably) inside. We were seated with perfect timing for the fireworks (which start at 10). The food was surprisingly good; I was expecting the place to be a tourist trap. The nacho appetizer was remarkable. We ordered the chicken dinner for 4, it came with a fine choice of desserts for only 44 cdn. No tourist trap here...we had a great time.

Awesome views with ok food that is over priced

Review from A. T.
The food was so bad here that I felt like I would have been better off going to Applebee's or some other nearby chain restaurant. The view could have made up for the bad food, but we were seated far away from the outdoor heaters and the service was lousy and slow. Stay away from this place.
