The staff are professional waiters. We were taken care of the moment we walked through the doors. The decor is outstanding you are in an old world mansion. I had the scallop to start and they were a delight. The salad was fresh crisp and the dressing was delicious. my wife had the cheese ale soup. It was a home run. Now I had the salmon and my wife had the steak. The steak was great, the salmon will keep me going back. Simply amazing. Top it off the view and setting are to die for. I would recommend the edge water and ask why haven't you been there yet. This is a Stoney Creek secret. Shhhhh.

On the food alone, I would probably say 3 stars, but the atmosphere and view over Lake Ontario make it a 4 star restaurant. The best seats in the house are the tables for 2 in private alcoves that overlook the grounds and water. An extensive winelist compliments the menu with our favorites including a romaine hearts (caesar) salad with double smoked bacon and seafood cioppini. The outdoor grounds are beautiful in the summer - we even had our wedding there!

A very good meal with efficient service. However, we went for the food and the view. After requesting a table with a view of the lake when making the reservation (the day before) we were told it couldn't be guaranteed. Understandable, but when we arrived and learned that a private party for 100 had the room with the view reserved, I felt extremely misled and angry. This known fact should have been communicated to us over the phone when making the reservation. Had our schedule allowed, I would have left and eaten elsewhere.
