This is a goofy and unusual option for an office party or perhaps a birthday party with a number of guests. You enjoy a three course meal while watching murder, mayhem and a whodunit unfold with some occasional interactions with the talented improvising actors. If you want a quiet evening, this isn't a good option. Your meal will often be interrupted by actors/suspects offering their insight into who killed who and how much they hate who was just killed. For this reason, and the high prices, I wouldn't recommend this as an ideal place to take a date or a friend you've been meaning to catch up with. Talking during the show is a serious no-no since it is theatre and it's very rude.
The show itself is good in the sense that the mystery isn't easily solvable. You have to actually get invested in the story line and go up during intermissions to look at pieces of evidence. Unfortunately, the comedy is pretty lame and tame, as they mainly make use of easy local humour (like a crack about Vanier) or local politics. The funniest bit of this show is from Eddie May himself who's the only actor allowed to insult obnoxious audience members.
The prices are also incredibly high: about $150 for two people. This includes admission to the show, cover for the Velvet Room, an appetizer, main course, dessert, tip and maybe an extra $20 or so for a couple drinks. I'm glad I went, but I probably wouldn't pay these prices again. -

Went to see the new Eddie May Murder Mysteries and thought the new Glee inspired show was fun and entertaining. The food however, was not. This would be so much more of an experience if the food did not disappoint to level it did.
Love to see Eddie May again but, not with that menu.
