  I went to Eclipps on Saturday to get a cut and blow out before my husbands xmas party.  So happy and relieved to find a hip salon in New Westminster.  I'm the girl who was still driving downtown so I didn't have to go to an 'old lady' salon (sorry to the older set who are reading this).  All the stylists looked great, the salon was nice, but I am never a fan of those old halogen box lights (to the owner if you read this - invest the money and replace those - they are a turn off).  No one looks good in them!  But I got an awesome cut by a lovely stylist who really listened to my wants and then took the scissors to give me an much needed update to my long locks.  And the price was INCREDIBLE!  I will go back because of that reason alone!  My mocha wasn't the best but a nice treat nonetheless.

  Yesterday I was feeling shaggy!  Really shaggy!  Poofy too!  So I decided I wanted a hair cut and knew that my go to place wasn't going to work for me today.  
  
  I went online and remembered that I hadn't tried out Eclipps before.  In years past it had always come across as pretentious to me, so it's never occured to me to go there but I changed my mind.  I went online and checked out their services and cost and found me a $5 off coupon for new clients.  When I called earlier in the day they had an available styist for that time.  I am not sure who took the call but they weren't overly friendly on the phone at first but seemed to get nicer as the call went on, not that it went on for a long time.  (This is why I only gave them 4 stars and not 5).
  
  When I got there I felt welcomed.  As soon as I walked in someone greated me and since I was early, made sure that I didn't mind waiting, which of course I didn't.  The salon has a nice set up.  The product is easy to see and well set up.  The waiting area is quaint with a little red leather, retro feel.  I liked it.  Then there is the Penelope.  She is the gorgeous Boston Terrier that is one of the stylists.  I got a greeting from her as well.  So needless to say, the wait was fun.
  
  When my waiting was over, this cheery young lady came over and introduced herself as Christa and that she would be the one doing my hair.  What I really liked is that she asked what I wanted AND she reiterated everything I said to make sure we were on the same page.  As she was doing my haircut she would explain all the product she was using, including the shampoo and conditioner etc.  She didn't put in a lot of product but what I liked was she explained what it was and what it did for my hair.  When she was done I was the happiest girl on the block, or at least the hair salon, and felt a hell of a lot lighter after Christa took out the poof!!  
  
  I will be back to see Christa!  I had an easy time talking with her while she cut and styled my mop and she did a fantabulous job!
  
  PS the reason I wasn't offered a beverage was that I had my to go mug filled with London Fog from Starbucks down the street lol.
