I go to the Eccotique by Old Navy sometimes to have my brows waxed. You can walk-in or call ahead. So convenient if you are already at the mall! Also, if you want to treat friend to a pedicure, they have incredible plush banquettes with soft lighting where people can sit beside each other and place their feet in steel basins. More expensive than your local nail place, but worth an occasional splurge!
I go to the Eccotique by the food court to have my make-up done. I went before a summer wedding and the artist perfectly captured the essence of what I was looking for. Sometimes they have promotions allowing you to purchase some make-up used in the application at discounted prices (got a beautiful berry lipstick that way). If you don't like wearing foundation, try Aveda's (what Eccotique uses) as it is not heavy at all.
Tip: The Eccotique by Old Navy carries a large amount of travel size Aveda products if you use those and are going to be travelling or just want to try a product without fully committing to a large bottle. -

The Eccotique spa near the Bay was where I had the basic pedicure. My technician had a good attitude, she did not do a good job on my feet. I could tell it wasn't going to be worth the money or time when she gave so little attention to my feet.
If I could post a close-up photo of my feet, I think it would tell the whole story. I can't tell my Before Feet from my After Feet. I can just say that it was so substandard that I could have done it myself with my eyes closed. The thing I wanted most was to have the old skin removed from around my toes and toenails and she certainly didn't bother with that.
I'm going to try one more pedicure at Richmond Eccotique and if it isn't as good as my other ones there, I'm going to give up and do it myself so I won't have to feel bitter about wasting my time, my hopes and my money.
I think the fault lies with the management. I know for a fact that the company that owns Eccotique doesn't bother testing the skills of the technicians they hire and they don't train them or hone their skills either. That goes for the hair stylists, too.
I didn't like the fake cheery attitude I got from the staff either. I don't need to be pumped up just because I'm 'pampering' myself. I like to deal with nice, decent people who do their jobs and Yes, I'm pleased to be there and am pleasant to everyone, but don't expect me to be Ecstatic about my appointment. -

I have been a client of this spa for several years, most regularly for bikini waxes. LOVE the atmosphere within the spa, but I really don't dig going into a mall, even though it's usually just for maintenance of my lady parts...but I digress...
I am always greeted quickly and politely, offered tea or water, then escorted to the waiting area/nail room. What a gorgeous place to get a pedicure. Raised, luxuriously upholstered benches line one wall, with lots of pillows to arrange for your comfort. They use little built in sinks at foot level, instead of those giant, somewhat creepy, disease-causing, massage chair / foot jacuzzi contraptions that so many spas use.
I had the Peep-toe Pedi here just before my vacation in Jamaica and all I can say is...Yah, mon! This Pedi was not only super relaxing and made my feet look stunning, but it also lasted through the entire vacation. Through sand, sun, and a lot of water what with the ocean, pools, and waterfall hiking!
While I have had facials here in the past, they use Aveda products, which I used to love, but sadly developed a sensitivity to. Waaaah!! If I didn't have this sensitivity, I would totally still go for Aveda facials at Eccotique if I could, they were divine!
The only thing that kept me from giving a 5-star rating is the location (noisiest mall ever). Otherwise, LOVE this place. :) -

Spent the 1st portion of my Valentine's day at Eccotique indulging in a spa treatment. Ahhhhh spa treatment! Bring it on baby! Slap on that oil and massage the kinks out.
Decided on the hot stone therapy and soaked in the whole experience starting with the dimmed lights and the cushiony spa bed that I sunk right into. Stones are heated and used to massage the back and neck so the warmth goes right into those muscles. Very unique experience and after my skin felt like buttah!
45 minutes for $75 was well worth it and it worked wonders on my separated shoulder that's for sure. Staff are ok, some more friendly than others. The girl I had made some good recommendations when it came to products and suggested I do the deep-tissue massage and shiatsu massage. Sounds good to me, don't twist my arm. Sign me up!
The second location at the food court is much quieter and they offer more services there, some of which are done at the location beside Old Navy. Overall I recommend the place both for convenience of location being right inside the mall and variety of treatments & prices.
Dim those lights baby I'm coming back. -

Go see Jane for everything! She's super qualified and very professional. Never disappoints! They now offer laser hair removal and I recommend it! Great atmosphere, clean, professional workers, couldn't ask for a better place. Also it's free parking at the mall, very convenient.

I usually go to the Eccotique by the Old Navy to take care of my waxing needs, because the girls there always do a great job. I've had several different staff work on me while I was there, and all of them were really good.
I don't know if they take walk-in's because I've always made an appointment; you might want to check though. When you walk in for your appointment, they seat you down in a small corner where there's a soft couch and magazines to browse, and they'll ask you if you want juice or blueberry tea. I recommend the tea, Aveda tea is always great!
They play nice, relaxing music when they're doing your treatment. They use the best Aveda quality products, and they work quickly but not carelessly. The ladies there are friendly and will usually chat with you as they work. I had this one girl who talked a little bit too much, and was kinda nosy, but the others were pretty good.
After your treatment, your esthetician might walk you over to the cosmetics counter and give you a complimentary makeover, or not, depending if they have time, I guess. I only had this happen once out of all the times I've been here.
While I've been to other places that certainly charge less for hair removal services, this is the best place I've been to thus far. You definitely get quality for your bucks here. -

I've gone to both Eccotique Spas, I was a regular client from May 2007 to April 2010. I went to one RMT at the location near Old Navy until 2008 (Jennifer moved out of BC), and then went to the spa near the Bay, where Janet was my RMT from the fall of 2008 until the spring of 2010. Both RMT's did a great job; Jennifer was good;Janet was outstanding, with great attention to detail.
Janet is a former fitness instructor, which really helps bring an added element to her massage, since she understands the nature of exercise, injuries, etc. more than some RMT's might. She also does a lot of little things beyond what a good RMT does, things like washing the excess oil off my back with a warm cloth before working on my legs; then wiping the oil off my feet so I wouldn't stand up and possibly slip after my massage was done; lifting my legs onto a bolster herself rather than have me do it when I turn over onto my back (I have lower back issues); and, having water or tea waiting for me at the front desk when the massage was done.
I'm not sure what fellow reviewer Nadine N. was hearing, but I never heard any children screeching or people being paged in the three years I went to either location, as she mentions in her Yelp review.
In addition to the wonderful massages I experienced there, I also found the entire staff at both locations to be very friendly, helpful and professional.
I'd like to give Eccotique 4-1/2 stars (I rarely give 5 out of 5 to anything), but I guess Yelp isn't set up to let us rate in "half-stars". -

Those sinks can be just as unhygienic as those jacuzzi foot spas. They are not disinfecting the drains after each use. The level that they are built at is non adjustable, so it's kinda difficult for certain clients to get comfy, as well as not very comfy for the pedicurist. At the rate they pay their staff, you can see why your pedicures are so inexpensive compared to spas with better facilities. A lot of newer jacuzzi foot tubs on the market are able to be sanitized, but Vancouver & BC does not demand those levels of standards which is terrifying.

There are two Eccotique spas in Metrotown not to mention the Eccotique salon. The one I went to was by Old Navy. I saw a registered massage therapist (RMT). One definite downside to getting a massage at the mall was that I could hear people being paged and children screeching all the while. Another draw back from my massage experience was that I was cold throughout much of the massage. The RMT's hands were cold, which didn't help. Despite the somewhat chilly and noisy experience, I left feeling good. Will I come back? Probably not. I prefer more of a spa experience if I am going to drop $100+ for a massage.

I had gone to this spa (Eccotique West in Metrotown Mall) for a year with only a few mishaps, until one day they gave me someone who obviously knew NOTHING about giving brazilian waxes. She spilled wax all over me, several times, and pulled at my skin so much, i was bleeding. I was in so much pain, I literally crawled out of there. I was bruised all over my lady parts, sounds funny, but it hurt like nothing I've ever experienced (and I've given birth!) A few days later i was admitted to the hospital because I could barely stand, and was diagnosed with a severe case of e-coli in my bladder, and when i explained what happened to me at the spa, they narrowed it down to that event. When i got out of the hospital 3 weeks later, and it took another few weeks to gather my courage to walk in there, I asked to talk to the manager, Yanni or something was her name, I explained what happened, and she looked like she really couldn't care less. She didn't offer a free service or anything. I contacted her again a few weeks later to find out if she was going to do anything, and she said that she had to talk to her Regional Mgr and that she would get back to me. I heard NOTHING. I just called back again today (2 mo later) and she gave me xome song and dance over the whole thing, hummed and hawwed her way through it, and then asked me if I had a doctor's note from being in the hospital...I asked her if she was joking, seriously, who gets a drs note for being in the hospital!!! She put me on hold and I just hung up. NEVER EVER EVER go to this spa! She could care less about her customers. She just wants to be manager and have the luxuries that go with it.

There are two Eccotiques at Metro and I was at the one near the Bay. I had a pedicure there, and the technician did a good job. The ambience was pretty relaxing (calming music, quiet, candle lit private room). The price is a bit steep though, so I don't know if I'd go there again. If I want to pay that much, I'd go to a nicer spa downtown rather than in some mall.

I had a massage with one of the registered massage therapist at the location by the Bay. It was underwhelming, she didn't seem to work out - or pay any attention to my knots, it was quite cold in there and not the relaxing "spa" atmoshpere I like.
