* Little Italian style sandwich cafe *
In the tiny little place that used to be the Mexican chocolate cafe, we now have a new spot with a bit more Italian flair. I think I recognized one of the guys behind the counter from before, and they still have chocolate fondue on the menu. But other than that it is more traditional cafe fare now.
The vegetable sandwich was made on a very nice crusty piece of hearty Italian country style bread. It had roasted peppers, asparagus, tomatoes, and bocconcini. They grilled it so that the crust was perfectly crispy and the bocconcini just started to melt. There was a little balsamic as well to balance out the flavours.
A very nice little sandwich. I stress the word little - the size matched the size of the cafe. But tasty!
Very friendly full-sized service as well.Listed in: Which wich is which?, Vancouver European Food
