Etobicoke, ON
I checked out Eat My Martini last night (Saturday) after a friend recommended it. I went with a girlfriend. Overall, I was pretty happy with the place. Casual bar environment. As a martini lover, this place had a ton of great selections. My two faves of the night: Roy Boy (a lychee martini) and Lusty (a mix of pear juice and peach schnapps and so on). Martinis were $6 and mixed drinks were $4. Great value.
The two cons: I love the music they played (a mix of top 40 and some others) but it was way too loud. I felt I had to yell at my friend who was just a few inches away from me. And it's a small place. Limited seating is available. My friend and I got lucky to grab seats at the back. But it was not overly crowded so can't complain.
An fyi: if you're paying by credit/debit, minimum $20. And if you're driving, aside from street parking, there's a garage by Clinton/College.
Overall, I think it's a good place for a night out with gal pals and cheap drinks (or pre drinking before going elsewhere). -

It's another one of those places that we wanted to try out. The cheap drinks and the huge selection of martinis tempted us for a long time. The first time we went to Eat My Martini, it was closed...the store hours said otherwise, but either way, the lounge was closed. We shrugged it off and went to another place. Last night, we went again, we were pretty paranoid that it might not be open again, but it was open. :D
The martinis were cheap, 5 of us went, we all ordered around 2 martinis each and a some fries. The martinis came in plastic martini glasses. We tried each others drinks and...well, it's really a hit-or-miss sort of thing. A couple of them were pretty good, one of them was way too sweet and the rest were just forced down our throats. The fries were too salty for some of us, but it was because they topped it with this spice. I thought it was yummy and was going to clean out that bowl of the last half a dozen fries or so after I finish talking to a friend. But before I can do so, the waitress already came and grabbed the bowl and the empty martini glasses and walked away. I was too confused to tell her I still want it (before she was already away from our table..which was 2 seconds after she grabbed the bowl) and honestly...I expected her to ask me whether I am done with it before fishing it away like that. :C
It is a small bar with TVs playing UFC, while the speakers blasted top 40s. It was really dimly-lit and there isn't much to say about the decor...because there really isn't any.
The way the venue was decorated or... the lack of decoration gave a feel of a simple bar. But the table tops had a candle-like thing so it was a classier/romantic-ish/girl's night out bar. But what about the UFC on the flat screen tvs? and the top 40s blasting out of the speakers too... This isn't a big deal at all, I just felt that not everything belonged there, so it was unsettling for me (personally.)
The martinis, whether it was a disappointment or not, were still cheap alcoholic drinks. Would not be a problem at all if there was a dance floor, 'cause I'd drink them just to get drunk enough to dance. But seeing that there isn't a dance floor, I would like to drink them to enjoy how well-made they are...which wasn't the case and the plastic glasses didn't help. And if I am to drink martinis with people, I'd probably want to talk to them too...seeing that we were not there to dance and neither were we watching a live bad or show; the music was too loud for talking, we had to raise our voices. So overall, I see no reason why anybody would come here as this lounge doesn't exactly target any purposes. If you want to dance or listen to loud music, a club would be a better idea. If you want to catch up with friends and have a drink or two, you should just go to a restaurant/bar for their martinis and their lower noise level. -

I am so glad I stumbled upon this place, well not really stumbled... I had seen this place a few times with the intention to visit.
I just love all the selection of martinis, I think its the perfect place for a girls night out or to celebrate quickly with a friend.
The also serve appetizers but nothing to make a mark about. -
Review from Kyra G.
Took a weekend trip to Toronto and ended up coming here twice.
The venue is very, very small and pretty crowded, and the general atmosphere is kind of club-like... very loud, dark, and flashy, with a big TV blasting top 40 songs. It would be nice if they toned down the music a bit in such a small cramped place, but the drinks made up for it. A huuuuuge menu of martinis with unconvential ingredients (cheesecake syrup?) It's a really fun place to go with a few friends, as the expansive menu makes for good conversation, and you can all sample each other's drinks. Just make sure you can get a seat (you may have to camp out for one).
The drinks themselves are quite cheap: $6 for a martini, $4 for a mixed drink or shot. Most of the drinks are very sweet, sugary and a lot are creamy, so it's best to not have too many. They do have a few less frou-frou options, but what's the fun in that? I opted for 2-3 martinis and a shot of tequila both nights. The drinks can be pretty strong, depending on what you get, so take heed.
The service the first night was slow, pretty inattentive and our server was slightly abrasive. The second night service was still slow but very friendly and fun. It was very busy both nights, so I'll give them a pass.
Overall: not the best place if you're looking for a quality bar, but if you just want to have a few fun drinks with your girlfriends before hitting the club or after a long day, this is your place. -
Review from Brian H.
This place came highly recommended by a friend, party because of the vastness of the martini menu. I went with a group, and we all tried a few rounds of something different, but I have to say, most either tasted like a variation on cotton candy or cough syrup. After all the frills, I went ahead and asked for a plain jane, top shelf vodka martini (since I'm allergic to the juniper in gin). Terribly disappointing, not to mention a skimpy pour.
The saving grace of the evening came from our wonderful server, who was extremely personable, even changed out one of the drinks that none of us could stomach. He knew the pitfalls of the menu, and helped us navigate toward some safer choices. I forget his name, except that he was tall, blonde, had glasses, and his wife was also a server. -

I have never seen so many cocktails ever.
Making a choice is the tough part.
But if you don't want a cocktail the pickins are slim...
The staff isn't particularly friendly
The DJ is good
It's not 'hoppin' but it's a nice chill environment when you feel like trying out a bunch of reasonably priced maritinis. -
Review from Aviva S.
Been here more than a few times. I'm a fan.
GREAT prices, nice atmosphere, great music, LOTS of selection (it's incredibly impressive how many types of drinks the bartenders are expected to know how to make). Just an overall enjoyable experience. Great service. Very quick, efficent, and the owner of it (which ladies get to know very quickly - the Italian guy who keeps dancing and making sure you're okay :) ) is super friendly and takes care of his customers well. They have coat racks. :)
Downside is that the drinks come out a little strong everytime, there is limited seating (though they do have something to lean against when standing) so come early, and the food menu is limited.
TIP: It's cash only (three banks across the street) as it gets busy fast and there's little time for interact and credit cards. Also, don't come with a group bigger than 5 or so people. There's not much space for big groups like that.
Great place.Listed in: Drink in Style

If you pass by this Little Italy spot looking for dinner and cocktails, keep on walking. The miniscule food menu is mostly pub fare and pasta dishes; there are no standouts and it's not much of a dining room vibe. With so many terrific eateries a stone's throw away, you'd be remiss to grab your chow here. REMISS, I TELLS YA.
But if you're looking to get crunk on $6 rail, well, then you've found Martini Mecca. They have over 130 different mixes, though some are a bit redundant, like their versions of a caesar or a screwdriver. Every single one I tried made me purse my lips in disgust, but I'm not one for feminine-oriented mixology anyway. That said, I know there are a few good picks here, and the servers are pretty knowledgeable about what's what. In the summer, their back patio is perfect for a sizeable group.
But I guess I'm not really turned on by the selection of a few hundred hastily-made "martinis" served in plastic cocktail glasses in a crowd thick with goons and girls with thigh-high boots. Call me old-fashioned. Or better yet, serve me one.
Obligatory Title Pun: You can BEAT my Martini.
Menu Readability: Stunning drink menu. It's a graphic designer's wet dream. My favourite thing about this place.
Need to mention: Mandatory 15% gratuity on groups of six or more. How about "suck my martini"?
What this place teaches me about myself: I'd rather drink one scotch neat, than 140 different 'ersatz-cocktails.'Listed in: Places to get crunk in the…, Little Italy

Review from Mariko M.
We had not been to Little Italy for a while so on Saturday night we decided to check out Eat My Martini. After a crazy week, having a drink or two (especially a martini) was a fantastic idea.
When we arrived at around 9:30 it was relatively busy, but it really started to pick up an hour or so later. In spite of the crap weather, people were congregating at EMM... music was a little too loud, but it was Top 40 so I could handle it. On Saturdays, all martinis are $6 for the entire night, which is pretty reasonable for Toronto standards. As noted by others, their menu is extensive.... in fact, the list of choices can be overwhelming.
The martinis we had:
*** Lisboa - take it or leave it... you can really taste the sour apple liqueur
*** Chocolate Factory - comes with a pb cup... probably the best I had all night
*** Wangatang - reminds me of the orange creamsicles in the summer and a close 2nd to the CF
*** Give Me Some More - melted marshmallows... it's quite sweet and delish, but adding a hint of chocolate might add to the taste
*** Ball Breaker - AVOID AT ALL COST.... Red Bull and jagermeister together tastes like nasty over-the-counter cherry cough syrup
Yay! I'm a fan. -

For some reason when I heard the name of this place I was initially turned off. I can't explain exactly why I felt this, but perhaps it added to my pleasure when I found I really liked it!
Firstly, I should mention that the menu is very small. Most of the food has an Italian feel to it (it IS in Little Italy), but that feels a bit strange given the huge martini list.
We were hungry though, so we ordered dinner and it was honestly pretty good! I'm not sure if this would be my choice if I was JUST looking for dinner out, but not bad if you're feeling lazy, and not wanting to bother going somewhere different for your alcohol and food, like what we were feeling.
This is a martini bar and so no big surprise, it has a lot of martinis. That said, I shall repeat it...it has a LOT of martinis!! Over 100 different martinis and every one of the ones I tried, I enjoyed. And I tried a good five or something. This may ALSO account for my remembering a good time.
The service was good too. When I mentioned that I really liked the sauce my pasta came in, the waiter brought me extra sauce in a dish, with bread to dip it in. Weird, but I really enjoyed this...what can I say? I had had like 5-6 martinis!
I would definitely make a trip back again! -

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible service. And by horrible, I mean no service at all.
My four girlfriends and I went on Thursday, June 23rd to try one of the popular martinis. We just came from a wonderful dinner at Woodlot and wanted one last drink to end what was a beautiful night.
We stood at the bar for 10 minutes before anybody even looked at us. There were two people behind the bar, and not that many people waiting for drinks. We were looked at, but not served. Five minutes later I politely asked if we should sit at a table because we were not getting service at the bar to which the bartender replied "you are not the only people in here you know". How rude.
Then a gentleman walks in and gets served immediately. Within one minute of sitting down at the bar. We asked why he got served and we didn't. It was because he worked there.
I'm sorry but I have been in the hospitality business for over 10 years and unfortunately, staff should come second to guests no questions asked. Especially when the guests have been waiting over 15 minutes for a drink.
Needless to say our group of five ladies left and went to The Tiki Room, where we had unbelievable service and a great time...but look for that in another review ;)
Oh ya...and the one star is for the decor...it was a good vibe, too bad the staff blew it!!Listed in: Not going Back!

1) Why was yesterday my first time at this place? I LIVED at College and Grace and still never knew about it...though, that was before our yelp days.
2) Why have none of my friends ever said to me "You know Mel, you would really enjoy going to Eat My Martini."
3) Why did I bother pre-drinking before going to a place that serves inexpensive well-made martinis?
This is a great place and I'll be back for more...I want them to name a martini after me - The Mel Martini (nice ring to it eh?).
One star taken away for how they name the martinis. With over 100 types, it would be beneficial if the names reflect the flavour of the martini. You'll need to read the ingredients to get an idea of what you're ordering - after a couple of drinks, that may be difficult. -

If you are a university student looking to get wasted on $5 Jolly Rancher martinis in plastic martini glasses, then this is the place for you.
If you are older than 22 and enjoy a well-made martini, then walk on by. As in past this place. -

Twenty bucks spent at Eat My Martini gets me very giggly and tipsy. Cocktails are $5 a pop with a diverse choice of almost 100 mixes. I love it! If you're able to get a table, it's loads of fun to meet friends here and to select and sample each other's drinks. Just for the record, my favourite martini is the Pussy Catto.
The main draw at Eat My Martini is the martinis: the 'eat' part is kind of an afterthought. There are appetizers and entrees available, sure, but don't expect anything spectacular: mozzarella sticks, spring rolls, bruschetta, pasta et cetera.
Open from 6pm, closed on Tuesday and Sunday, which is kind of a drag. Sometimes a girl needs a stiff drink at noon, you know?Listed in: Little Italy, My Neighborhood

A couple of girlfriends recommended this as a good girls night out place for drinks. Lots of martinis on the drinks list and $6 is a good deal, but the service left a lot to be desired.
We were right beside the speaker and the music was loud enough that we had trouble hearing each other, and so politely asked if it could be turned down a bit. Our server told us (without apologizing) that they would actually be turning the music UP soon. Why? There was no dancing or reason to have loud music. And they did turn it up! They were also slow to refill orders and we waited a long time with empty glasses. I guess they weren't very interested in selling us alcohol. Also, plastic martini glasses = could have been overlooked, but given the service...I'm going elsewhere next time. -

I'll be honest and say that I'm really not a martini kind of guy. It's largely because of that that I don't really get the attraction of this place. They have a gigantic menu of Martini's that really is friendly to someone who doesn't know their away around a stirred drink, but is also somewhat overwhelming. Reading through the menu can take a long time, but it's also a great point of conversation.
The few times I've been, it wasn't too busy, and I rarely see it packed with people when I walk by, but Eat My Martini has been around for years, so they obviously do good business. I could see this place as fun for people who are interested in trying martini's for the first time, or for people who have had their fair share of martini's, but are not elitist on the subject. -

I don't actually like Martinis, especially in plastic glasses but I guess that's why they are only $5.
Pros:
Wide range of combinations
Good for a small group
Inexpensive
Chill (though dance music was blarring)
Nice eye candy
Intimate
Cons:
Music was off putting.
Service was a bit pushy (I mean you have about 50 Martinis listed, give a girl a minute better yet, five)
No apps offered - was the kitchen closed or are they not offered? -

Eat My Martini is at the top of it's martini class and definitely receives top marks from me and my friends every time we soak up some drinks at this bar.
This lounge/restaurant is located in Little Italy, on it's well known martini and drinks strip.
Eat My Martini has two characteristics that it is known for: OVER 100 different types of drinks and martinis and its inexpensive costs of drinks!
They make at least 90 different martinis, so expect to find a martini that you fancy on the menu.
Also, sometimes when I have been there, I have asked the bartender to create a martini with ingredients of my choice, which is very unique.
The bar offers $5 martini specials on weeknights and on Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to 9pm.
But on weekend nights after 9pm, the drinks are still a lot cheaper than other bars in the city.
As for food, they have a mediterranean/Italian fusion thing going on. However, I would not recommend it for a full meal. Some of their pasta dishes are yummy but their meat dishes can be a hit or miss.
But if you are looking for a food treat while drinking, try one of their appetizers. They never fail!Listed in: Best Martinis in Toronto

There's no better way to get your drink on than with a glorious selection of martini's. And there's no better place to do it than eat my martini.
This boozy spot is located on the bar-heavy area of college street in Little Italy, although it's list of almost 100 specialty martinis definitely sets it apart. They have a huge variety of martinis too, from sweet to savoury to creamy and strong. My favourite though is definite the sour apple - can't go wrong with a classic!
The food here is nothing special but while you're downing $5 martinis (one more reason to get drunk here, you probably won't find cocktails that cheap anywhere) you might want something to soak up the alcohol. They have a tapas style menu which will do the job, but don't come here expecting delicious food. Martinis are what they do best and what you should definitely enjoy here at least once in your life! -

Needing a girls night out and some martini's? Well then Eat My Martini is your place, especially on a Thursday night where all 134 martini selections are $5!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing is I would have liked is if it was less lounge like and more of a place to dance the night away.
Seriously, I''d say the best price in the city for quality and tasty martini's.Listed in: The Places I Go Out

I think I've found my favorite martini spot... and there's a lot of competition out there in the GTA.
For one, the name of the lounge is brilliant! Equally brilliant are all the names given to the never ending list of martinis.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and although the music was slightly on the loud side, I found myself enjoying their beats. I wouldn't day the music was deafening, but I wouldn't go there to have an intimate conversation.
The service was very friendly and speedy, which facilitated a quick journey to tipsiness. And although some food was purchased to ease the bite of the drink, I must say that the calamari had a very interesting and yummy spice to it.
What I appreciate most about this place is that the martinis are super cheap, but the quality of the drinks aren't. You could actually taste the vodka, which isn't always the case for cheap martini bars.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a love for martinis, looking to have a good time with a couple of friends. May I suggest the Rickey Martini? Or if you want something with a bit of spice, I really enjoyed Eat My Apple Pie... but then again, there are so many yummy options to choose from!
Try them all (maybe not in one visit) and Enjoy! -

Cheap martinis & mixed drinks? After reading reviews this place seemed too good to be true! I decided to check out the hype and was extremely disappointed. I ordered the 'little blue pill' and my friend ordered a Cosmopolitan, but sadly we were served alcohol-free martinis. Maybe I have a drinking problem but I tasted absolutely no alcohol. We paid 12 bucks for fruit juice. I could put up with the uncomfortable metal chairs, cheap decor and plastic glasses but gyp me on booze and I'm going to be pissed.

I used to go there with a friend on Tuesdays as they have their $5 drink during weekdays and have a huge martini selection. We have not really paid attention to the service, although we have been a bit shocked by the fact that once you finish a drink, a member of the staff comes right away to ask if you want another drink and comes several times if you don't drink anything...
But 1 month ago, we went there and it was a disaster! First a waitress took our order (actually I kinda forced her to take our order since she was dealing with the table next to us and the other 4-5 waiters would just stay behind the bar talking and texting), and a few minutes after a waiter came asking for our ID (although they know us since we go there weekly) and also for our order. We told him we just ordered with his colleague and he said that she forgot itt! Wow! So shocked by this attitude! Since then we decided to not give them any money any more! -

Upon discovering $5 martini-Thursdays, this place became a regular hot-spot for me and my friend's from school. The list of martini's is absolutely huge. We tried to tackle the entire menu over the course of 8 months and had no luck, especially after each discovering our own personal favorites. My recommendations: girly and fruity? Try the Riki martini. Refreshing and fruity? Either the Roy Boy or the Tropical Blaster. And of course, they make the traditional martini's as well. I would probably suggest avoiding the drinks' with too much cream, especially if you plan on having more than one. That being said, this is the type of menu that you really need to go and discover for yourself! The biggest downsides of this place are the space and the food. It's small, and occasionally cramped and cold in winter. The portion sizes are pretty small, and the food is overpriced for what you get. All in all, this is a great place for drinks, but go to one of the great restaurants up the street for dinner!

To be fair, I've never actually been inside Eat My Martini, but I've heard stories. Both good and bad, of course everyone has their own experiences. My issue with this place stems from the fact that I live behind them. I understand the noise problems, I've actually grown quite used to them over the last 18 months. My problem is with the filth of that place and I feel like it's my job to inform those of you who do not get the full effect. Right out their back door, an area they use for those drunk folks who won't walk to the front of College st, but use the alley way for their cigarettes. Fine, again- the noise I get. But that alleyway is just vile. Their garbage sits there for weeks on end, stinking up the entire area. Noise? Fine, I can handle. Smell? Close the windows in the back, fine I can handle it. But when there are rats coming from your garbage into my backyard and probably into my house, is when I draw the line. If they live in the garbage bins and bags inches away from the restaurant, they probably live inside of there too. Fair warning to all involved.
